MAC Pro Longwear Fluidlines Reviews, Photos, Swatches (Part 2)
MAC Blacktrack Pro Longwear Fluidline
Here are the other shades of MAC Pro Longwear Fluidline ($16.00 for 0.10 oz.) that I received and have finished testing. I really can’t tell if the formula is really different between the original Fluidlines and the Pro Longwear Fluidlines. At most, they seem a little more emollient/thinner with a longer drying time (but not long), but it’s such a subtle difference that it could just be that my original version is also older (and could therefore have dried out slightly over time).
Ivy is described as a “fresh leaf green.” It’s a muted, emerald green with a pearly sheen. It is more slippery and tends to sheer out when applied; it takes some layering, but you really have to wait for it to fully dry down before adding another layer of product. This shade wore well for ten hours. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Lowlights is described as a “deep deep brown.” It’s a deep, subtly cool-toned brown with a mostly matte finish (not as flat of a matte finish as Blacktrack). It had semi-opaque coverage in one pass when I tested it on my lower lash line, and it lasted for ten hours. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Macroviolet is described as a “sparkly purple.” It’s a lightly brightened eggplant purple with warm undertones and a pearly shimmer-sheen finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation and wasn’t too slippery. This shade stayed put for ten hours. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Siahi is described as a “deep ocean blue.” It’s a muted, blue with a hint of green and a pearly sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in a single stroke that was somewhat buildable to semi-opaque coverage, but it tended to look faded, even when built up. The version here is more muted, less shimmery/more blue-leaning than my prior version. It lasted for ten hours–this formula just doesn’t budge on me. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Silverstroke is described as a “silver.” It’s a brightened silver with a metallic sheen. It had a more emollient consistency that resulted in sheer pigmentation. It was buildable to mostly opaque color coverage with two layers. Once in place and dry, it lasted for ten hours. See comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.
Please note, Royal Wink is a limited edition shade that’s part of the collaboration with Philip Treacy, but for the sake of minimizing posts during the MAC madness, I’ve included it here!
Royal Wink is described as a “bright ink blue.” It’s a bold, brightened cobalt blue with a satin finish. It had rich color payoff but had a slightly more emollient consistency so you have to be careful not to go back and forth, as it will sheer out if you do so–it goes on fairly evenly with more opaque coverage in one stroke. It wore well for ten hours on me. Get comparison swatches / compare dupes side-by-side.

Ivy is gorgeous! I just wish it performed better.
I hear ya!
Exactly my thoughts! I think I may be too impatient to wait for dry down to build colour. I like to swipe & go!
Macroviolet and Royal Wink are just pure love. Amazing colours. Like Siahi as well! Anyway, I don’t do much liner so probably would use them as a creamy base for other colours, but they look amazing for that!
They could! Just make sure to work quickly to blend out the edges 🙂
…And I was SO hoping for Siahl to be a good dupe for my (much loved, rapidly disappearing) Undercurrent Pearlglide 🙁
Aww!
Undercurrent is permanent, if that’s what is concerning you! 🙂
Oh no! I am so bummed that Siah and Ivy didn’t do better! I love those two. I think I will try to include low-lights and macroviolet. But I need to compare my Inglot stash. I know I have very similar shades. Royal Wink is a definite in this set. I have a feeling that a Blue Peep are going to be big sellers. I am going to get my pre-order together and place it asap! Thanks again for getting these done so quickly!
Royal Wink and Blue Peep are two of my favorites for sure – if only because they are a bit more unique!
Bummer about siahi and silver stroke, and I may even have to give macro violet a miss. And I love me a purple. Add sparkles and I’m usually a goner. Oh well, it would be good to give some of the Mac madness (well put, christine,) a miss. My poor wallet… Thanks, as always, for the reviews!
No problem, Jilly! The Fluidlines (except Royal Wink) are permanent, so you can always check ’em out in store later on.
Hi, Christine! Do you know of MAC has plans to send you the burgundy fluidline (Looking Good)?
Sorry, this is all I received from MAC.
I’ve been on the hunt for a good burgundy liner for months, and I ordered Looking Good the moment I saw it! I just got it in the mail today. I’m not thrilled about it, in the pot it looks amazing but when I applied it it looked way more purple (even a little gray), rather than true burgundy red. Its also not too opaque seeming. I’ll try it again tomorrow with a different brush, see if I can build up the color more, but from the pot to my lids, it’s like they’re two completely different colors! 🙁
Siahi means ink. Was expecting something more inky blue.
It looks rather faded once you get it on – somehow it loses its depth.
Hi Christine!
I’ve always loved the color of Macroviolet, but my past experiences with it have been not as good as with almost all the other Fluidlines I’ve tried (I kind of collect them!); I’ve always struggled with it applying too sheerly for my preferences, but have also found it impossible to build up more color, because the second layer just would move the first layer around so it became patchy. In your opinion, is the new Macroviolet any better than the old in this sense, or do you think it’s probably the same? Thank you!! 🙂
I really don’t notice a difference 🙁
Depending on where you’re applying it, the best method seems to be apply one layer (or thereabouts), let it set, then apply a second layer on top and use another brush to “smudge” it to a degree to help it even out. But I don’t think this is really improved/different.
Omg Royal Wink!!!! Perfect for Summer!!!!!!
Agreed!
Royal Wink and Macroviolet look nice
Royal Wink is one of my favorites from the launch.
The Macroviolet is really pretty .. I wouldn’t mind picking that up 🙂
Monica.
It is a pretty plum!
Was looking forward to Siahl to blow me away but I quite like Royal Wink and Silverstroke as substitutes for now!
Yay! At least you found two 😀
The darker shades look really frustrating to apply. Like when you paint another line it erases the one you just put down
But some of these colors are really beautiful
Yes, if you don’t let it dry down, you can DEFINITELY do that!
Sigh… this new version of Siahi looked different. I remember the original release of the shade was less sheer. Mine dried out so I don’t have it anymore, I have mixed feeling because it’s such a unique shade.
Actually, here your review of Siahi so I’m definitely not loosing it. lol

Yes! It is definitely more faded this time around.
These colors are so pretty! I like Siahi and Royal Wink, but don’t think I can pull those off . Macroviolet and Silverstroke are more my style, but I already have some similar colors in my liner pot stash, and it takes forever to finish one of these little pots!
Thank goodness you have similar shades! 🙂 Money saved!
Siahi and Royal Wink are definitely on my list!
Yay!
Oh wow I NEED royal wink. It’s such a gorgeous cobalt blue.
It is!
Oh Siahi, you make me *sigh*! I really love that color because it’s deep enough to not overwhelm my eye color, but if it applies sheered out, Idk. Royal Wink is absolutely beautiful, but I already know that it would make my eyes look dead.
It’s so hard for me to imagine Royal Wink making eyes look dead! I can’t picture it, lol! It’s so BRIGHT!
I *just* got Siahi via UPS yesterday, and used it immediately, it is the perfect shade of deep blue for these greenish teal w/gold flecks eyes of mine! Blue is a VERY difficult color for me to pull off, unless it has a teal or aqua tinge to it.
I’m so thrilled, Nancy! 😀
It definitely DOES take 2 coats though! Blue Peep will be next up! And Blitz & Glitz too.
I have better luck with Bobbi Brown’s formula. But, I’m loving Royal Ink for
the lower lash line.
It’s very nice for brightening or pairing with neutrals!
Hmm I might actually get Lowlights for my brows.
Awesome!
Love that Ivy and Siahi (how do you pronounce this one!) colours – they are divine. The Silverstroke is gorgeous too. It is hard when your favourite colours are the weakest performing shades in the collection.
I have no idea!
These make me happy!! With all the underwhelming limited editions it’s so good to see items that are permanent and GOOD.
True! 😀
These are so beautiful. So glad they’re permanent and the price is reasonable.
YAY!
I picked up Ivy today despite the poor review because I love the colour so so much! I tried it out on the lower lash line and it does apply a bit patchy, but a second coat fixed that up for me. It requires patience for sure, but because it’s not an everyday thing and the colour is so lovely, I’m okay with it. xD
So glad you’re enjoying it, even if it takes some extra work 🙂
So disappointed at the Philip Treacy availability- collection came out today in the UK and Royal Wink was gone in 10 minutes. Seriously Mac get more than 3 products in! Will be checking out the dupes now Christine! x
Whoa!
