Myth
MAC Myth Lipglass ($17.00 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is light-medium, peachy orange with warm, yellow undertones and very fine, gold pearl. It had medium to semi-opaque pigmentation that applied unevenly and was incredibly prone to pulling into my lip lines. The gloss was lighter weight than others in the range, but it still had the tackier feel of Lipglass. This shade wore nicely for four hours on me and was slightly hydrating.
The Lipglass formula is supposed to be “pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic color” that can be worn “on its own, over lip pencil or lipstick” and will “condition lips.” MAC could use an update on the description as some shades are more pigmented than others but several are sheerer and likely intended to be that way. The formula has a very glossy, high-shine finish with a light-medium weight and moderate tackiness. I find that newer Lipglasses (over the last couple of years) are smoother and not quite as tacky as the formula was many years ago. They wear from three to six hours on me and are usually lightly hydrating. MAC recently updated the shade range and packaging for the range (though the formula was said to be unchanged), so worth noting is that with that packaging change came a reduction in quantity to 0.10 fl. oz. (was 0.17 fl. oz.), which may matter for some but not everyone.

Love Nectar
MAC Love Nectar Lipglass ($17.00 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a soft, medium orange with warm undertones and pink and gold pearl. It had medium coverage that applied decently, but it could have went on more evenly and stayed out my lip lines. The texture was smooth, light-to-medium in weight, and somewhat tacky. The gloss stayed on well for four and a half hours on me.

Blissful
MAC Blissful Lipglass ($17.00 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a light-medium orange with warm undertones and fine, gold and white pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that did not apply well, as it was slightly streaky and uneven in coverage while noticeable color slipped into my lip lines. The gloss was thicker but shy of feeling goopy on the lips, though it was still tacky. It lasted for four and a half hours and was slightly hydrating.

Prrr
MAC Prrr Lipglass ($17.00 for 0.10 fl. oz.) is a soft, peachy coral with warm undertones and fine, gold and pink pearl. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly across the lips. The texture was smooth, light-medium in weight, and comfortable to wear and to spread across the lips. I had just a touch of color that settled into my deepest lip line, but the gloss had a fairly smooth appearance otherwise. The color wore well for five hours and was lightly moisturizing over time.

Ah Prrr looks like the exact shade I’ve been looking for for YEARS. I’m not a fan of how sticky MAC lipglasses are, but I don’t HATE them like some do either .
I feel like the tackiness isn’t quite as noticeable as it was years ago – still a tacky gloss but smoother!
I don’t know the story on these ‘new’ lipglosses- are they the same colorants (at the factory level) with different emollients or revised in a way that they look different than the originals (a la Tom Ford Cheek Color)? Love Nectar looks different that what i remember…….i could go get mine out but i don’t have a system like Christine and don’t know where it is.
Love Nectar was a Lustreglass, which wasn’t quite the same formula as Lipglass, so that might be why.
On the lips, these all look like dupes of each other!
Haha!
Yikes! Those first 3 just look far too lip-liney for my dusty plummy pigmented lips!
However, I gotta say: thank goodness that Prrr is still prrr-fection, and at least they didn’t muck this one up!
Phew 🙂
All to peachy for me!
Darn! 🙁
I have to say Christine, that your makeup look with the Prrr lipglass is my all time favorite look on you! Soooo freaking gorgeous!!!!!
You’re very kind, Patty! 🙂
Love how Prrr looks on you, might give it a try.
Thank you so much, Betty!
