MAC Justine Skye Iridescent Powder & Dua Lippa Cremesheen Glass Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Justine Skye
MAC Justine Skye Iridescent Powder ($27.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark plummy purple with subtle, warm undertones and flecks of lavender sparkle and fine pearl shimmer. The Iridescent Powder is supposed to give a “hint of soft purple for cheeks with a shimmering pink pearl sheen” that has “buildable coverage” and is “long-wearing.” The consistency was incredibly dense–firmly packed and required a denser brush or slight jabbing motions to get enough product onto the brush. The denser texture made it harder to blend out on the skin as the product tended to go on unevenly, so it took more work to diffuse the color evenly across the cheeks. It had semi-sheer, buildable coverage (up to semi-opaque) that lasted for seven and a half hours on me.
This product will release April 13th, but it is available for pre-order now.

Dua Lipa
MAC Dua Lipa Cremesheen Glass ($21.00 for 0.09 fl. oz.) is a clear gloss with flecks of iridescent sparkle. MAC actually described it as a “clear gloss with multi-pearl,” so it was as described. The sparkle was rather sparse, so they did not distribute that evenly across the lips and had little impact on (layered or alone). The formula was smooth, creamy without being heavy, and non-sticky. It wore well for two hours and was hydrating.
This gloss will launch May 25th.

The powder is pretty, but the lipgloss is just a bad joke! If it had been as described, I’d have snapped it up, but clear gloss with a few sprinkles of chunky glitter??? I don’t get that at all. The boxes are beautiful. 🙂
The gloss confuses me as well, Pami – not that I mind clear gloss, but given it’s a collaboration, and even how sparkly it looked in the tube, I was thinking it would have more impact on.
Oh dear, as MAC Select member, I was able to pre-order the iridescent powder a few days ago, supposed to ship 4/14. I’ve been obsessed with it, and it looked gorgeous on Justine Skye, hoping mine will be better quality. If not, I’m returning and going for the dupes
It looks pretty on, but the texture is super dense.
Not a fan of either product.
A blush/ highlighter that I have to poke at is a major PITA. I already have that problem with the Blunt side of my Selena cheek duo. Thank goodness I’ve got CP Sticky Sweet!
And this Lipglass is just too sheer for me, and I actually love a sheerer gloss for layering, but this one looks clear!
Not quite as bad as the Selena duo or that type of powder texture – this is slightly more forgiving for blending, at least!
Both very dissapointing.
I don’t mind clear gloss, but it seemed like an odd choice for a collaboration.
The paper box looks soooo good but I prefer when the packaging ( I do not know the different words in English) – I mean the black plastic box the powder is in – would look special like in the heatherette LE for example but it has the normal look. That is why it is dissapointing for me.
I had higher hopes for the powder. It looks really chunky. 🙁
It’s very dense 🙁
I preordered the plummy blush and I’m alittle bummed about the difficulty to blend. I have trouble blending blushes and also above the crease on eyes. Finishing powder helps with the blushes.
It looks very beautiful on you.
Thank you, Janine!
I love the blush color, don’t have anything like it, it looks so gorgeous on you. I am tempted to give it a try, hoping that since I like light application of blush it won’t be as much of a problem for me, but still worried. If you say blending is an issue and your blush always looks perfect, I have little chance of success ;-(
Maybe with a lighter hand, you won’t need quite as much blending, at least!
The powder reminded me instantly of sticky sweet!! Which has been in my cart FOREVER. I really should pick that up sometime!!
The gloss makes me sad! I was for sure going to pick that one up, but it’s basically clear. So I’m not going for it now!
Same here, Shannon! Sticky Sweet is a fun CP shade 🙂
Ack too bad about the powder, I like the colour. The swatches look dismal.
Right?? The color was so gorgeous in the pan!
Eh… no.
Maybe next launch!
Been following you on youtube forever and a day. First time venturing to your site and I love it. Thanks for the reviews.
I’m so glad I got this! I didn’t swatch it but I wore it layered over blush on the cheekbones and it looked so pretty! Esp with hippo dual highlighters!
Totally agree with you on the Dua Lipa lipglass. I had already ordered one before I saw your review, and just received it today. Not only is the glitter sparse when applied (looks a lot more glittery in tube), but the glitter isn’t rainbow (or multi-pearl, whatever 🙂 ). It’s a light pink-yellow glitter, not nearly as bright as I thought it would be. I might keep it bc been wanting a clear lipgloss anyways, but weird missed opportunity by MAC. Anywho, thanks for the great reviews, and your makeup looks awesome! 🙂
