MAC Just Breathe Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo
MAC Just Breathe Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo ($22.00 for 0.06 oz.) is described as a “shimmery light blue.” It seems like the duos in this collection consistency have one smoother, easier-to-use shade and one drier shade that’s less impressive.
Just Breathe #1 is a light-medium, silvery-blue with a frosted, slightly metallic, finish. Applied dry, it was semi-opaque and not quite as bright, whereas a dampened application yielded smoother, richer color payoff. It lasted for eight hours on me before fading. Kat Von D Moonshine (LE) is grayer. ColourPop Sugar (P, $5.00) is a cream product. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Parisienne #3 (LE) is darker. Fyrinnae Frostbytes (P, $6.80) is darker. Urban Decay Shellshock (LE, $18.00) is brighter. Too Faced Jailbird (LE, $16.00) is darker. Maybelline Cool Crush (LE, $6.99) is a cream product. MAC Water & Ice #1 (P, $21.00) is darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Just Breathe #2 is a muted, medium-dark gray with silver shimmer and a metallic sheen. It was a drier, chunkier product to work with that had sheer color payoff applied dry and semi-opaque pigmentation when applied damp. It had a lot of fall out during application and then minor fall out over the seven and a half hours it lasted. Too Faced Tin Soldier (LE, $16.00) is more metallic. theBalm Surf’s Up (LE, $16.00) is darker. Make Up For Ever ME116 Silver (P, $21.00) is lighter. NARS Jardin Perdu (Left) (LE, $24.00) is similar. Sleek MakeUP Acid #11 (P, $9.99) is darker. NARS Bad Behaviour (LE, $24.00) is darker. Fyrinnae Frostbytes (P, $6.80) is cooler-toned. Makeup Geek Galaxy (P, $5.99) is darker, less shimmery. Makeup Geek Prince Charming (P, $6.99) is less shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

These look gritty. I don’t use that word often with shadows but it’s the one that came to mind. Happy to skip these.
Yes, at least one shade seems to have this dry, crumbly texture that just doesn’t work well 🙁
“duo” those are sooooo close to each other!
I think the idea behind the duos was that they would be similar to each other 🙂
🙁
The look you created outshines these products! Very nice winter frost 😀
These look very ordinary to put on – very gritty as Meganlisa above said. I love the colours – but I am saving my money for the NARS palette that you reviewed recently.
I think I would have purchased this had it not been for your review and swatches! I thank you and my bank account thanks you!
The darker shade in the duo totally ruins it for me.. drier, chunkier formula… Nooo!!
