MAC Irresistibly Charming/Pink Lipgloss Set
MAC Irresistibly Charming/Pink Lipgloss Set ($35.00 for 0.32 oz.) includes one shade of Dazzleglass and three shades of Cremesheen Glass. All of the shades have been released before; Sugarrimmed and Just Superb are part of the current range from what I can tell. MAC’s holiday lipgloss sets are actually one of their best values, because while the tubes may look short, they actually contain 0.08 oz. each! But this is the crazy part: full-sized Dazzleglasses are a mere 0.06 oz., while full-sized Cremesheen Glasses are 0.09 oz. The set contains $26.67 worth of Dazzleglass and $53.33 worth of Cremesheen Glass, which makes the set have a total value of $80.00. The holiday sets are a great way to restock your glosses, if you like the formula or shades. The sets often repeat from year to year and have a mix of often-repromoted-limited-editions as well as permanent options. Cremesheen Glass is sheerer, lightweight, comfortable without being sticky, with short wear time (one to three hours). Dazzleglass is thicker, glossier, sparkly (or glittery), sticky, and typically sheer but have longer wear time (two to four hours).
Sugarrimmed is described as a “milky pale pink with multi-pearlized pigments.” It’s a light, warm-toned pink with multi-colored sparkle (mostly pink and silver to my eye). It had semi-sheer color coverage with a light-medium consistency that was tacky and lasted for three hours on me. MAC Clear Water (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Look Who's Here (LE, $20.00) is darker (95% similar). Bobbi Brown Bellini (P, $24.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Jouer St. Tropez (LE, $16.00) is darker (95% similar). Surratt Beauty Amethyste (P, $32.00) is cooler (95% similar). MAC Gal Friday (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). MAC Sugar Coat (LE, $18.00) is less pigmented (90% similar). MAC Reckless Desire (LE, $21.00) is cooler (90% similar). Becca Rose Quartz x Seashell (LE, $22.00) is cooler (95% similar). MAC Happily Ever After (LE, $21.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). MAC Be an Angel, Darling (LE, $20.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Becca Opal x Jade (LE, $22.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Purpurine (LE, $21.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Out for Glamour (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). MAC Little Rock (LE, $20.00) is warmer (90% similar). MAC Oyster Girl (P, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). ColourPop Here's 2 U (DC, $10.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Just Superb is described as a “neutral pink.” It’s a light-medium peachy-pink with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-sheer pigmentation that applied smoothly but settled into every lip line and then some due to its milkiness. It wore for two hours on me. Anastasia Vintage (-, $16.00) is more pigmented (95% similar). Sephora Rose Petal (05) (P, $12.00) is cooler (95% similar). Dior Swan (263) (P, $35.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). MAC Please Me (P, $21.00)(90% similar). Bobbi Brown Nectar (LE, $24.00) is warmer (90% similar). Maybelline Pink-a-boo (P, $4.49) is lighter (90% similar). Too Faced Peach Fuzz (P, $19.00) is brighter (90% similar). MAC Bijou (LE, $21.00) is lighter (90% similar). NARS Tasmania (P, $26.00) is lighter (90% similar). MAC Dress the Part (LE, $20.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). Buxom Creamsicle (PiP, $19.00) is warmer (90% similar). Chanel Sensible (15) (P, $34.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). NYX Apple Strudel (P, $5.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Nooner (DC, $20.00) is warmer (85% similar). MAC Artful (LE, $21.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Chanel Ideale (22) (LE, $34.00) is lighter (85% similar). Buxom Sophia (PiP, $20.00) is warmer (90% similar). NYX Tres Leches (P, $5.99) is lighter, more pigmented (85% similar). MAC Candy Box (P, $21.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Creme Anglaise is described as a “rosy mid-tone pink.” It’s a medium pink with subtle, cooler undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-sheer color payoff that applied fairly evenly and didn’t settle into lip lines too noticeably. The consistency was lightweight, smooth, and creamy with a mostly non-sticky feel. It wore for two and a half hours on me. Dior Ciel Rose (449) (P, $35.00) is darker, warmer (95% similar). Maybelline Caramel Infused (065) (P, $8.99) is lighter (85% similar). Bite Beauty Ten (Watercolor) (LE, ) is lighter, cooler (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Colour Saturation is described as a “deep wine.” It’s a dark, berry-red with cool undertones and a cream finish. It had sheer color payoff with a lightweight consistency that was comfortable tow ear, but the gloss settled into lip lines a lot, so it may be better over a liner or lipstick if you don’t like that to occur. The color lasted for three and a half hours on me. Milani Berry Tempting (05) (P, $5.49) is more muted (95% similar). Maybelline Amethyst Potion (045) (P, $8.99) is more muted (95% similar). NARS Penny Arcade (LE, $26.00) is darker, more muted (95% similar). Chanel Tocade (182) (P, $30.00) is more shimmery, warmer (95% similar). MAC Gwi-Yo-Mi (LE, $20.00) is lighter (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Bitten Berry (LE, $54.00) is cooler (90% similar). Milani Ravish Raspberry (06) (P, $5.49) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). MAC Blushing Berry (LE, $20.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). NARS Sixties Fan (P, $26.00) is warmer (90% similar). Maybelline Dashing Orchid (035) (P, $8.99) is more shimmery, more muted (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Studded Kiss (310) (DC, $28.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). NARS Shade III (LE, $26.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Fashion Perk (P, $22.00) is more muted (90% similar). MAC Ruby (P, $20.00) is more muted, warmer (90% similar). MAC Warp Speed Ahead (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, darker (85% similar). Bite Beauty Twelve (Watercolor) (LE, ) is darker, more muted (85% similar). NARS Quito (P, $26.00) is warmer (85% similar). MAC Glorious Intent (LE, $20.00) is lighter, brighter, warmer (85% similar). MAC Love Alert (LE, $20.00) is lighter (80% similar). Chanel Distinction (21) (P, $34.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). I like the sparkle in the Dazzleglass, but the others are meh
The dazzleglass is the only one I like. The rest are too sheer. Why is a shade called “Colour Saturation” so sheer?
I am torn between this set and the nude set from I think yesterday?
Primarily because Sugarrimmed (how the heck have I overlooked THAT one???) and these two darker shades are just gorgeous to use as toppers, with Creme Anglaise being one I’d use with just a lipliner.
Ugh…I was thinking about gifting these to my nieces. I think the Bite lip set clearly wins.
Not overly impressed. The two darker shades are pretty but the pigmentation is light and they seem to not apply evenly in the color department.
Even though the ratings aren’t high on these I really just want to use them over lipsticks that I already own. I had to start delegating my Cool Water for special occasions only so being able to get something similar– Sugarrimmed– is exciting!
I love the Dazzleglass! It’s like the perfect nude shade! Nars also makes a bunch of great glosses!
Again four pretty colors. Ii think I like lipstick that tends to be glossy and more shear rather than the solid matters.
Gotcha 🙂 That’s what great about makeup – there’s something for everyone!
I like those, especially Sugarrimmed! This set would be a great addition to my collection…
Crème Anglaise looks very pretty. And hah, great name choice for Sugarrimmed 🙂
The sparkley one is really not my style, but in the end it looks awesome and it’s my favourite of these! It’s kinda special hehe
Errrr…where are MAC getting these names? A crème anglaise is a pale yellow sauce!
