MAC Hey, Sailor! is a 40-piece collection for summer, which is available online now (and will be out next week at retailers like Dillard’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom, etc.) and is supposed to launch on-counter on May 24th.

Such an underwhelming and disappointing collection! I expected getting the highlighter, both blushes (I’m a blush whore :P) and a couple of eyeshadows, but I haven’t bought anything so far and doubt that I will later.
So happy that your swatches saved me from buying something unseen and wasting my money.

The collection is one of my favorite and I work with MAC Products every day. This has been one of the most popular collections. I think you should check it out in person if you can! You will love the bronzers, the glosses and blusehes! The Body oils are so fab too!

I mentioned dupes in the specific reviews – this is the second to last post for MAC Hey, Sailor (the last one is the accompanying video) 🙂 We built the Swatch Gallery so users can compare the shades they want side-by-side whenever they need to.

I was wanting so much before I saw the swatches, thanks for saving my bank account Christine. Might just get a blush or lipstick.
Wellll…. nice to see SOME of the products (the lipsticks, the pro bronzers) are good quality. Overall there’s about 4 products I would consider buying.
Meh… Not only were many of these products of poor quality, this whole look is so overdone! Yes, MAC, you can do red lipstick and frosty eyeshadow. Can we please have something else!?!?
Looks like MAC rushed the online release so bloggers would not be able to get their opinions out before the launch. Seems a little underhanded to me. Not that it worked very well since the only thing that is sold out on the Canadian site is the Fleet Fast blush. I wanted it too but not sure if it is worth it to try and snap it up when it comes out in stores this week.
I love the intense red lipstick, otherwise nothing. I was much impressed by Glitter and Ice ( I bought the 6 lipsticks and beauty powder now broken snif and eyeshadows ), after that too many collections were launched, too many for me ! I bought from Mac me Over too ( great collection ! ). The only regret is Iris Apfel and So Cheek, everything was sold out when I went to the boutique here.
Mac really launches too many things, I hope their collaboration with Carine Roitfeld will be pretty, Marilyn Monroe tribute too…..

Hi! I was wondering why the lipstick the model is wearing doesn’t seem to be in the collection? Red Racer really doesn’t match… Even the eyeshadows doesn’t match (in my opinion). Maybe someone have an answer ^^
@DorotheedeLaFontaine I feel as if the reason the lipstick, at least, doesn’t match is because it has a pinkish tint to it! I think she might be wearing “send me sailing” on top of red racer? very lightly though :s

I think it is becasue they have used the white gloss (cut loose) on top of it. I am a MAC artist and played around a lot with the white this weekend! Great collection!
I really wanted to love this collection because I liked the packaging a lot and MAC’s last two Summer collections were great – especially To the Beach. Nothing is exciting me that much…..the products are not cheap at all and I wouldn’t like to purchase just for the packaging. Maybe when I see the collection in person I will change my mind, but I think I might be skipping this one and invest on products of MAC’s permanent line. Thank you for all the work you do for us, Christine! As always, your reviews are extremely helpful 🙂 !
