5 Intriguing Green-Teal Eyeshadows

Finding a perfectly teal eyeshadow is difficult, because teal is a mix of blue and green and inevitably leans one way or the other.  Who knew that Make Up For Ever would have so many fun ones?

What’s your favorite green-teal?

I’m a teal lover, my go to shades are Urban Decay’s Loaded from the NYC BOS. Next would be MAC Humid and Surf USA. Lastly Bath and Body Works used to have makeup a million years ago, I bought every last one I could find of a shadow color called Fog. I am down to my last one, but it’s a beautiful muted deep teal that leans a little silver. I am always trying to find a dupe of it.

I don’t get t wear bright colors too often, but when I do, I find myself reaching for NARS Misfit quite often.  I’ve gotten lots of compliments at work the few times I’ve worn it in.  🙂

Really green teals like Nars Misfit are one of my favorite colors.  But it’s such a difficult color to describe…it is better to say warm green-teal, or turquoise green?  I’m not even sure what the difference between teal and turquoise is….

@Xero Also, my favorite teal is Sally Girl Baked Mini Eyeshadow in Dark Green.  It’s actually a bright green-teal with a very subtle golden sheen.  I actually initially bought it just to look at it, because I only wore neutrals, but lately I’ve been loving it as liner on my lower lashline.

@Xero To my experience, teal is generally a darker, richer color, with strong blue undertones. Turquoise is lighter and softer, with a more balanced blue/green undertone.  They can vary enough within their spectrum to the point where they seem to overlap, but it also doesn’t help that a lot of retailers tend to use the both terms as though they were interchangeable.

I have to agree about Jealous Jordana. I also love MAC’s Steamy (does that count as teal?) and UD Haight (it looks teal beside Radium in the BOS III).  Along with Jealous Jordana, I’d have to say Mac’s Bows and Curtsies but only the one from Fashion Flower which has excellent texture and pigmentation (the Tartan Tales one is very bad)

Definitely, the Jealous Jordana.  That shade would go with so many other eye shades and on its own is a very classy eye shadow.

Hmmm.. this would be a dark teal on the green side, and I’m not certain it is available anymore..  Nars Thunderball.  Love MAC Plumage, but sadly crappy formula 🙁  Missed out on Mac Bows and Curtsies.. I’ll get over it someday!  ha!

My favorite is UD’s Loaded but I’m not sure if that’s what you would described as “teal.” I see it as a dark emerald and not as heavy on the blue as I normally consider “teal” to be. Either way, it is probably one of my favorite new eyeshadows in years and years. I’m utterly in love with it! (And it is a perfect match with the Illamasqua Viridium nail polish I recently got.) It’s all thanks to you because I would never have bought it, let alone heard about it, if it hadn’t been for Temptalia. So a massive Thank You!
