MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish formula is supposed to add “highlight to the face and body” with a “velvety soft” texture and “radiant finish.” Gold Deposit has noticeable sparkles in it, which gave the texture a more crumbly, gritty consistency–it just wasn’t as smooth as some of the Mineralize face products. It had semi-opaque color coverage that was easily applied more heavily or with a lighter hand to adjust the coverage. It has a metallic, high-shine finish that emphasize pores slightly on my skin, so it may be one that doesn’t appeal to everyone. My best tip is to apply with a fan brush, which will help you build up the shimmer better. The color lasted for seven and a half hours before starting to turn patchy.

Pretty! This would be nice in summer. But, the gritty texture. Idk. Certainly one to look at in person first. How’s the move treating you Christine?
Pretty good! Makeup survived, nail polish survived. Almost all unpacked and ready to resume my normal schedule, and I’ve never been happier to get back on it, lol!
Good to hear! Though I never noticed a slip in the blog. Best of wishes for you, your husband, and Mellan in the new home! Such an exciting time! 🙂
Thank you, Nicole!
If I am reading correctly, this size is 1/3 of the amount of skin finishes.
Fixed! I had the pricing for the Mineralize Blush.
Apart from the grittiness I think it looks beautiful.
True!
I can see the crumbles in the swatch but it is pretty, esp. for evening glamour
The color is really pretty!
I’ve looked at ‘Gold Deposit’ in MAC so many times before and just haven’t picked it up! I think it will be something I purchase around next summer time as it would be perfect for that time of year when I’ve got a tan! Great review as always xx
Sounds like a good plan, Ciara Rose!
Hmmm, while it really looks great applied to your cheeks, I realize that in reality, we’re seeing it at a normal viewing distance. And that said; glittery or pore emphasis finishes don’t work for me. A shame, because this shade is so pretty. ?
It’s such a pretty color, but I need a smoother finish 🙁
Way too warm, shiny and glittery for me and my pores.
I totally understand, Helene!
A really pretty colour – not for everyone, as you suggest Christine, but lightly used it could be stunning.
I bet using it with a fan brush and a light hand could yield pretty results!
While it is pretty I’ll be passing. Way too dark and warm for this PPP!
