MAC Fabulous Felines: Leopard Luxe Review, Photos, Swatches (Lips & Cheek)

Here is part two! Be sure to read part one.

Lipglass ($14.50 U.S. / $17.50 CDN)

  • A Quiet Roar is a very pale white gold on lips. It looks a little off to me when I wear it alone, but it could be used to layer over other shades. It reminded me of Almondine (Spring Colour Forecast).
  • Schemer is a sheer orange base with flecks of copper and ambered gold shimmer. I found it applied pretty unevenly, and even though I tried to make it even, I couldn’t quite get there. I’d use it as a layering gloss rather than alone. This is very, very similar to Gold Dust (Spring Colour Forecast). This one seems a little more pigmented.
  • Wildly Refined is a pinky brown with multicolored shimmer–lots of pink and peach shimmer.  It’s semi-opaque and has a very frosty/shimmery finish.

Lipstick ($14.50 U.S. / $17.50 CDN)

  • Drive Me Wild is a reddened coral with gold sheen in a cremesheen finish. Like the other cremesheen finishes in this launch, it doesn’t feel like the typical cremesheen–creamier, smoother, more moisturizing. It reminded me of an orange version of Rose Maiden (Spring Colour Forecast).
  • Out Minxed is a sheer whitish shade with lots of multicolored glitter/shimmer with slight yellow undertones in a glaze finish. It’s similar to Liquid Lurex except less glittery and multicolored.
  • Powerful is an orange-y copper shade with lots of gold and copper glitter in a dazzle finish. As far as I can tell, it’s pretty much a dead ringer for Infused with Glam. Maybe a smidgen darker, but I don’t think so.
  • The Prowl is a semi-sheer red-tinged brown with a glossy, lustre finish. It has flecks of copper and amber shimmer in it. I did find that I had to be careful about pressing my lips together, because the color would look blotchy/streaky easily.

Mineralize Blush ($21.00 U.S. / $25.00 CDN)

  • Utterly Game is a peachy orange with very subtle sheen and no real shimmer (maybe a couple flecks here and there).  It can be built up for a more intense look quite easily, so I’d actually use a light hand if you’re on the fairer side.  I saw this on an artist at the store and thought she looked lovely, and she was very pale, but I didn’t love it on me – just made me look a little burnt, ha!

Oh Christine! You reviewed Leopard Luxe LAST and it was the one I was most excited about!! You’re killing me…with glamour! 😉 Anyway, it was well worth the wait. Can’t wait to go broke again!!

I’m actually tempted by Drive Me Wild and Powerful =) But God, I hate how MAC launches all these huge collections all at once 🙁 Love looking at the swatches, but hate the fact I can’t afford alot of things.

WOW Christine that was some outstanding turnover! Thank you thank you thank you for rushing so fast to review all these for us! As I was reading these I noticed more and more reviews being posted, and I said to myself, “Dang, it’s like she is running a marathon!”

OMG! Drive Me Wild is GORGEOUS! How do you think it compares to Fresh Salmon? I swapped my Fresh Salmon away because it looked too garish on me. I’m hoping Drive Me Wild will be more flattering. I’m about your coloring, maybe lighter, for reference. Thanks, Christine!

Thank you again for these swatches. I think I could easily skip most of this collection, even though I love big cats. So far, I’m only excited about Aristo-cat l/s & Best of Breed l/g. I’m really curious about the green l/g, too. I believe it’s called Jealous.

Rebecca Avatar

I’m not really sure why everyone was SO excited for this collection.. I haven’t seen one thing so far that I was even interested in, it all looks kind of boring and blah. Maybe it looks better in person though! And Christine I appreciate everything you do for this blog and I really admire you for it! It must be A LOT of work!

As usual all the lippies look great on you! However I think I have dupes for most of those colors and I’ve recently switched my lipstick allegiance over to NARS(quelle horreur, I know). What I am looking forward to in this collection though are the e/s palettes!

Dang, the MAC designers are clearly running out of ideas here. I guess they’ve pumped out so many collections that they’re scraping the bottom of the barrel. Maybe they should focus on quality and wearable colors (mustard gold lipglass, glittery frosty nude lipstick, really?) instead of just quantity of collections. Makes me sad to see the direction MAC is going, with it’s careless marketing of Rodarte, and now this crappy collection. 🙁

Christine can you please swatch Ripe Peach and Utterly Game together? I heard they’re very similar. I’m so gonna buy Utterly game I missed out on Ripe peach!!

ilmy Avatar

whoaaa!! you look so pretty Christine. You are a beautiful model
by the way love drive wild and the utterly game blush.
Thanks, for your hard work!!

Marcela Avatar

Utterly Game mineralize blush will probably look better on those that are maybe a little lighter/fair, it barely showed on your skin Christine =-(, but still I think it is a very lovely color. =-)

Hey Christine,

I’m NC45 and I’m torn between Pet Me and Utterly Game, I’d love to have both, but are both shades wearable for my skintone? I will check it out in person, of course, but some informed feedback would help. Thanks!

Keener Avatar

Awesome, thank you! I hoping one day to find a non-sparkly pink that looks just right on me, but in the meantime I think I’ll be happy with utterly posh.

Hi! I read your blog constantly and never purchase anything without looking at your swatches! Thanks! This is the first time I’ve commented. I have a question – how does “Drive Me Wild” lipstick compare to “Thrills” from the summer “To the Beach” collection? I have thrills and don’t want to purchase “Drive Me Wild” if they are close. Thanks again.

Alisha in WI Avatar

Hi Christine…I’m NW25. Do you think Utterly Game would give me that burnt look or look orange? I have a problem with that sometimes.

Chassy Avatar

Hi! In the last picture with Utterly Game, what lip product are you wearing? 🙂 I really love it, and I’m going to a MAC store tomorrow, so I’d like to pick it up!

Leah Avatar

Would you say Drive me Wild is like Thrills without the bronzed effect? I was comparing your photos of the two, and I already own thrills. I was considering getting drive me wild but I was unsure because they seemed very similar.
