MAC Coffee and Cigs, Pure Nonchalance, Killing Me Softly Love Me Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Coffee and Cigs
MAC Coffee and Cigs Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a soft, muted plum-brown with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer with a lightweight, thin consistency that didn’t feel clingy and still had enough slip to glide on without tugging. The texture was also quite flattering, which was impressive as a lot of thinner lipstick textures emphasize texture and lip lines. It wore well for five hours and was lightly hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$23.00/0.1 oz. - $230.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "lighter-than-air texture" with "all-day moisturization" paired with "intense color and soft shine." They had semi-opaque to fully opaque color coverage in a single layer, and most of the shades applied evenly and smoothly to my lips without emphasizing lip texture or sinking noticeably into my lip lines.
The texture was very lightweight, lightly creamy without too much slip, yet there was a distinctive shine to the finish. The luminosity wore down within an hour or so of wear. The formula seemed like a cross between Amplified and Cremesheens, yet there was no tackiness, and the Love Me formula was much lighter and thinner (without being clingy). The wear has ranged from three to six hours and has been lightly to moderately hydrating. They had a sweet, vanilla scent (typical of the brand) but no discernible taste.

Pure Nonchalance
MAC Pure Nonchalance Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a muted, pinky-lavender with warmer undertones and a cream finish. It had good color coverage in a single stroke, though it wasn’t opaque and didn’t quite build to there either. The consistency felt lightweight with light to moderate slip, so it didn’t tug during application but didn’t slide around during wear. There was some streakiness along the edge, and I did experience some product pulling into my deeper lip lines. It stayed on well for four hours and was lightly moisturizing over time.

Killing Me Softly
MAC Killing Me Softly Love Me Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a brighter, medium plum with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was lightweight and thin without clinging to imperfections on my lips. The lipstick applied evenly and was comfortable to wear over the four and a half hours it lasted for. The formula felt lightly hydrating while worn.

Three beautiful shades! I have dupes for Coffee and Cigs (hate the name) and Killing Me Softly, and I already bought Pure Nonchalance, which I absolutely love. I didn’t experience the problems mentioned in the review. For me, the Love Me formula is MAC’s best.
Rescued by my dupes yet AGAIN! Haha!
I was actually very surprised by my dupe for Pure Nonchalance, UD Violate. Never would have made that particular mental connection on my own!
For Coffee & Cigs (awful name) and Killing Me Softly, I have 3-4 dupes for each. Idk how this happened…?
Idk how I missed this launch but I just saw these at Ulta and bought one of the nudes (Laissez fare I think). These are permanent?? That would be music to my ears because I’ve become allergic to most of MACs lip formulas but these are like my favorite Cremesheens in trendier colors.
Coffee & Cigs has some really interesting undertones in person that I think would make it pretty hard to duplicate — I definitely didn’t have any dupes in my stash. Really happy with the color, and with the formula — likely to pick up Killing Me Softly despite having many many of the listed dupes.
Coffee and cigs- super bad name.
Decent color.
Love Killing Me Softly. I’m so old, I remember all thee words to that song from it’s first release.
Of course I love the color for Coffe and Cigs (and I don’t mind the name because IT’S A THING — my office mates actually take coffee and cig breaks — good grief!).
Also oddly attracted to Killing Me Softly, even though it’s really not the kind of color I’d normally go for.
The Coffee and Cigs shade is lovely, but I do so hate the name.
The Coffee and Cigs shade is pretty but luckily I have Natural Born Leader and while not a super close dupe I think it will work. Killing Me Softly is a “me” shade if ever there was one and that probably explains why I have four dupes. I do love both shades and will have to check out Coffee and Cigs in person to determine whether it is enough of a difference to warrant buying.
I wish that my favorite shade from this collection had a more appealing name, but “Coffee and Cigs” it is.
I was amazed how pretty this color is on me, and also suprised that none of the listed dupes that I’ve tried, even hold a candle to this lipstick in terms of color and/or finish. I find it to be pretty unique.
Coffee & cigs. Hate the name, love the color. The name is almost enough to keep me from buying it. Yuck.
C&C is calling my name …. why it its name so bad …
The way other people feel about NARS and Tom Ford and Patrick Starr product names (the perverted ones, I mean, which make me laugh), but I don’t say so because people have a right to feel whatever they want about names. Anyway, that’s how repulsed I feel about “Coffee and Cigs”. NOT cute or funny or even remotely acceptable to me, seeing as how ‘cigs’ killed my mom at 58.
I had to buy Coffee & Cigs based on your review and I’m not disappointed! Lovely color; horrible name, but whatever ….
