MAC Cheek Pollen Blush

MAC Cheek Pollen Blush ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “warm nude [with a Satin finish].” It’s a medium-dark brown with warm undertones and a satin shimmer-sheen finish. It was richly pigmented with a really soft, smooth, almost buttery consistency that applied well to the skin. It blended out beautifully, while the satin finish gave the skin luminosity without emphasizing pores. On me, it lasted for eight hours. Becca Rose Gold (P, $41.00) is less shimmery, less pigmented (90% similar). Laura Mercier Sensation (LE, $45.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Laura Geller Ballerina (P, $26.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Melt Cosmetics Lynx (P, $22.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). NARS Cheek Studio III (LE, $30.00) is lighter, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Laura Mercier Earth (LE, $24.00) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Spellbinder Blush ($22.00 for 0.21 oz.) is described as a “pastel yellow pink [with a Satin finish].” It’s a slightly softened, light-medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had good color payoff and a soft, smooth texture that blended out easily on the skin. The sheen becomes more pronounced the more it is buffed into the skin. This shade wore well for eight hours on me before fading. Kaja Aura (P, $19.00) is lighter (90% similar). LORAC Dance 'Til Dawn Blush #2 (LE, ) is less shimmery (95% similar). Cheek Pollen!!! I even love the name of it! Can you imagine wearing this with Shaft Of Gold as the highlighter?!? I’m drooling over this blush! ?

Well now Cheek Pollen is absolutely gorgeous. I only have a couple crumbles left of Korres in Apricot, which you reviewed long ago. How does this compare? This looks a lot more peachy and lighter perhaps, and maybe more shiny.

Apricot? Hmm! I cannot recall that one (and I can’t find a review via Google from myself). Natural maybe? It looks similar to Natural, perhaps warmer then Natural, and definitely more shimmer!

Oops, you’re right! It was Natural. I think I might get this one too with the Beauty Powder. Funny that I haven’t even bought a mattress yet at my new place, haha. Oh, priorities.

Just wanted to update that Cheek Pollen is an incredible blush! I’m thinking of getting a backup of it. Smooth and rich color, and natural looking satin-y finish. On my olive/tan/medium skin, it gives me a sun-kissed look. I also love Pearl Sunshine, the beauty powder from this collection. I used a sweep over this blush and it made it glow! Borderline “too much makeup for work,” but I’m okay edging that line, haha.

P.S. I also bought a mattress 😉

Glad you got that mattress!!

Cheek Pollen is totally one I’d consider back-up worthy, haha. I had to resist myself! It’s just that perfect shade of warming brown that works with everything from barely-there makeup to over-the-top makeup and cool and warm.

I love Cheek Pollen, it’s just my kind of color! Between this and Pearl Sunshine, I’m starting to get cautiously optimistic about the Faerie Whispers collection! The lipsticks look “meh,” but the face products look really nice.

Beautiful! When my SIL drags me to the mall the day after Christmas to go through the clearance racks, I will be headed straight to the MAC counter!

Have fun 😉 I have only gone once after Christmas (and only to buy that year’s MAC collection), and I must say, I am pleased not to have to go in person, lol!

I think Spellbinder is too my liking. I like a yellow based blush as it tones down my rosacea. This one looks like the perfect amount for that without looking too warm on the skin.

Christine I love your eyeshadow!
But dang it !!!! I was thinking these would be skip able !!! Aghhh!!!! After your review I want these now!!! Lol

Oh gosh! Well I can see this is getting crammed into a Holiday buy for me when it technically is a Holiday buy! So much for a low buy after the Holidays!
I should have known that wouldn’t happen! 😀

lol! Does it help if it is technically a “winter” launch? MAC has so many launches that they actually have winter vs. holiday launches.

I’m really excited for this collection! I just can’t decide if Cheek Pollen will flatter ultra-fair skin. would it be a nudey flush or more of a luminous bronzer? the struggle lol

Hi, Christine. I loved Spellbinder. It looks so gorgeous. Is it a limited edition one? BTW your reviews just hook your readers. They are so perfectly crafted with minute details
