Here’s a quick look at the new Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette ($49.00 for 0.42 oz.) that just launched. It should roll out at all Too Faced retailers sooner rather than later. It is available through Too Faced directly and is currently available at Sephora for VIB/VIB Rouges. (By the by, Too Faced’s promo image is most accurate, while Sephora’s is completely inaccurate!)

The shimmers look good, some of the mattes look a little dry but fixable with primer. All in all, looks good, but I feel like this color scheme (neutrals with a few pops of color) has been done before by Too Faced in the original Chocolate Bar and the Semi-Sweet version

Amy Avatar

Oh my glob.

I’m pretty sure I have dupes for all the above, but my brain is starting to make up excuses for why I totally need this in my collection.

Kelly Avatar

I’m sitting here doing the exact same thing! With every colour I’m like ‘yeah, I’ve got something like that’ but I still really want it.

Nancy T Avatar

It’s just adorable! Seems to swatch quite beautifully as well. But two things stop me dead in my tracks: 1.) Very easily dupable shades, 2.) I just KNOW this has that damnable SACCHARIN in it. Why TF puts a well known serious allergen in their “chocolate” products baffles me to no end. Especially when this allergy is more common than many may think, and a very nasty allergy at that!
~Rant over~

Tina Avatar

Saccarin?! I am writing this down. Maybe this is why I cannot wear most purples (except for Mac) and some other reddish colors… I am going to start checking ingredient lists. I am so tired of the “pink eye” allergy from eye shadows. Thank you!

…and I did purchase this palette. I will be able to test the saccarin theory out. I think this may be my allergy problem though! (I have been trying to figure it out for a couple of years!)

Abir Avatar

When I looked at a photo of this palette I was uninterested. The colors didn’t call to me and I don’t like very pink shades on the eyes.
But seeing the swatches I’m kind of liking it more than the other TF chocolate palettes. All the colors are dupable, yes, but so many are the perfect shades of every day and evening wear all in one palette. Also, the pinks swatch different from the way they look. The lighter pink has a sheerness that reads pink but wearable. And the hot pink is surprisingly nice and wearable too if you like color.

At the very least, Totally Fetch is from Pretty Rebel palette, Satin Sheets is from Boudoir Eyes palette, and Malted is at least very similar (maybe the same) to Malted Milk Ball in the Sugar Pop palette. I don’t know if any of the others shades are exact repeats, but there are certainly similar browns in the other two Chocolate palettes. Ex.: Bordeaux look like a matte version of Cherry Cordial to me.

Regina Avatar

Honestly I don’t feel like these colors are all that unique and within my own collection I can probably dupe all the colors that I’d wear. Apparently I’m alone in how much I really dislike this packaging, the baby pink color in combination with the unnecessary heart shaped pans is just way too much and I don’t like it at all, maybe I’m the only one but I feel really disappointed in this palette, especially when compared to the first two chocolate bar palettes which were so cute.

Paz Avatar

Necessary? No. Dupable? Absolutely. And yet, it’s always nice to have a palette with all your favorite shades (in my case, browns, gold, and burgundy). This palette looks like something I’d take to a ‘dessert’ island lol. I’m sold!

Lacey Avatar

I’ve waffled on all of TF’s Chocolate palettes, and this probably won’t be an exception. They seem pretty dupable, but still nice enough shades to have in a palette. The packaging is cute and the quality is generally there.

I should really start my own master list of eye shadows so I know when I have dupes! I forget what shades are included in my palettes, and that’s why I get so sucked in by new ones!

Mariella Avatar

I just got an email from TooFaced about this palette – SEVENTY DOLLARS in Canada (though, if they run true to form, this will be somewhat cheaper at Sephora). Honestly, for that mark-up, they can KEEP THEIR PALETTE (good thing you all can’t see the steam coming out of my ears!)

Maggie Avatar

Ugh. I am a sucker for cutesy packaging, and I love pink eyeshadow. Do I need another palette full of neutrals? No. Am I going to buy it anyway? Absolutely. Someone, quick, justify this for me!

Paz Avatar

The Aztec calendar predicted that, if you don’t buy this palette, puppies and kittens will become extinct and we will cry and the world will end. Help us! You’re our only hope ?

Dez13 Avatar

I have the other two chocolate palettes and love them, so I caved and ordered it from Sephora when it was offered early. It should be here tomorrow and I admit I’m excited. I was up in the air on this versus the UD Gwen palette (I’m a huge fan and have seen No Doubt in concert twice) but I have too many dupes for the colors and then I’d be buying it just because it’s Gwen’s… Okay… I may still end up with both. ?

Charley JB Avatar

HOLY CRAP!!!!
I’m sooooo freakin’ excited for this one!
It probably won’t come out here in Australia for months yet but I am gonna be first in line when it lands on Aussie Soil!

Annie Avatar

I noticed how washed out and gray-toned the image on Sephora looked! Knew it must be a mistake since I had seen other photos of the palette. I didn’t think I needed this (I have the original chocolate bar and many other eyeshadow palettes) but your swatches are tempting me! I wonder if Bordeaux is a dupe for MUG’s Cocoa Bear? (I can’t believe I forgot to add Cocoa Bear to my cart with my recent MUG order!)

Bonnie Avatar

I’ve never been into the chocolate bar palettes before, but I really want this one! I want to say it’s because the colors appeal to me more or something but I think it’s mostly because it’s adorable and maybe even more so because “Bonbon” has been my nickname my whole life!!!

Nikki Avatar

I actually really like the swatches of this palette but I will not be purchasing because the packaging is just killing me. I’m not 12. I do not want a baby pink heart filled palette that’s just ridiculous.

The Silver Nail Avatar

I’m going to get it when Ulta has it and I can use my saved member points. I love my first Chocolate Bar palette, never got the second one because it was too warm-toned, and have been waiting all this time for a cool-toned chocolate palette with pinks like this one.

Ginny Avatar

It does look pretty dupable but these are all shades I like to wear. Most palettes don’t hit 100% for me so I stopped buying them and lusting over them a few years ago. I definitely do not need this but it’s very tempting. Is it permanent, Christine?

Leslie Marie Avatar

I got TWO of these because I just love it so much!!! So adorable and whimsical for us adults who love grown up formulas in girly, yummy smelling packages! Now I have all 3 chocolate palettes!

JennJam Avatar

That Almond Truffle is THE BOMB. One of my favorite colors from LORAC’s ‘Pro’ palette is ‘Mauve’ and Almond Truffle looks similar. I use Mauve ALL the time and am close to being out . . .

Christine, are you aware of any dupes of LORAC’s ‘Mauve’ or that ‘Almond Truffle’ from this Bon Bon palette? I know you probably haven’t added any dupes to this list (for Bon Bon) yet, but – – any off the top of your head? Or ideas from any other commenters?

Thanks!!

I went to Sephora to swatch 3 pallets….UD Naked Smoky (not good very chalky), Tartelette In Bloom (not impressed) and TF Chocolate Bon Bons….this pallet is beautiful. I have the OG Chocolate bar pallet and I love it….I skipped the Semi Sweet because it looked boring and I was not thrilled with all the swatches. This pallet swatches nicely. Very pigmented colors. The only disappointing color was Black Currant….if you are expecting a nice purple, you will be left with another blackish glittery shade (which i dont mind). I think this is one pallet I will be adding to my arsenal. I do suggest using a TF primer…it makes the colors pop.
BTW Totally fetch is a GREAT summer shade…They need to bring back the Pretty Rebel pallet….Best one they ever released.
