MAC Boutique Pink Mineralize Rich Lipstick
There are nine new and limited edition shades (plus four repromotes) of MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.). The formula is described as a “lightweight, non-sticky formula” that “instantly nourishes lips” with “long lasting colour in a single stroke” for “medium shine finish, buildable coverage.” The consistency of the Mineralize Rich Lipstick formula is very creamy with a fair amount of slip, so while they glide on easily and never tug at lips, sometimes you can see “lines” if you press your lips together. It feels like a light to light-medium-weight formula that’s comfortable to wear, hydrating, and vanilla-scented. I’ll have reviews of the new shades up as I work through testing them, so stay tuned for the rest.
MAC Boutique Pink Mineralize Rich Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “bright blue pink.” It’s a brightened, light-medium fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a very fine shimmer and soft shine. It had mostly opaque color coverage, and it applied evenly overall but if I pressed my lips together, there were faint–but visible–lines created. It lasted for three and a half hours on me but was nicely hydrating. It’s a fun shade, particularly for summer, but it’s one we’ve seen before (particularly by MAC). Marc Jacobs Beauty Pop-arazzi (606) (P, $28.00) is more opaque, more matte. MAC Lust Extract (LE, $17.00) is glossier. Givenchy Rose Perfecto (209) (P, $36.00) is more opaque. MAC Kelly Yum-Yum (LE, $16.00) is more matte. MAC Bold Spring (P, $22.00) is slightly sheerer but very, very similar (I don’t know why they didn’t just repromote this one). Bite Beauty Satsuma (LE, $24.00) is brighter, cooler-toned, more matte. Marc Jacobs Beauty Gossip (140) (LE, $30.00) is more matte. Maybelline Fuchsia Flash (P, $7.49) is more fuchsia, brighter, darker. MAC Outrageously Fun (LE, $16.00) is cooler-toned, lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
MAC Ladies Who Lunch Mineralize Rich Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “light cool pink cream.” It’s a light-medium, blue-based pink with cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had mostly opaque color coverage that applied evenly but settled somewhat into lip lines. This worsened as the color wore on, and it was manageable for about two and a half hours but needed help after three hours of wear. It was hydrating while worn. Givenchy Rose Dahlia (210) (P, $36.00) is a touch lighter. MAC Rose Lily (LE, $16.00) is sheerer, lighter. NARS Villa Lante (LE, $25.00) is more matte, darker. YSL Fetish Pink (8) (P, $34.00) is darker, brighter. NARS Roman Holiday (P, $26.00) is sheerer. Maybelline Pink Pop (P, $7.49) is darker, cooler-toned. MAC Divine Choice (P, $22.00) is a touch darker. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
MAC Splurge Mineralize Rich Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “mid-tonal cool plum.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark berry with cool undertones and a soft shine. It had mostly opaque, buildable color coverage that applied evenly and didn’t settle into lip lines. The consistency of this particular shade had less slip compared to the other two, which helped it apply better and stay on without bunching up. It wore well for four hours and was moderately hydrating while worn. Bite Beauty Crimson (LE, $28.00) is brighter, redder, more matte. Guerlain Gladys (78) (P, $51.00) is brighter. Revlon Plum Velour (P, $7.99) is sheerer. Marc Jacobs Beauty Seduce Me (128) (P, $30.00) is slightly richer/darker. Too Faced So Berry Sexy (P, $22.00) is pinker, lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

First and third are pretty!
Glad ya liked ’em!
Ouch, low ratings for Ladies Who Lunch. I had high hopes. 🙁
Light pinks tend to perform less well compared to other shades 🙁
It’s too bad about the wear time on Ladies Who Lunch. It reminded me of a more intense version of NARS Roman Holiday (as your pointed out) which I love but can sometimes be just a bit too sheer.
At least it’s comfortable to wear!
Good point! Lol 🙂
I’ve got NARS Roman Holiday and love it; Ladies Who Lunch looks like the opaque version so I can pass (my lips don’t do too well with opaque).
And I am seeing Boutique Pink-type shades on females everywhere!
But Splurge! It’s talking to me! I don’t have any Mineralize Rich Lipstick so this one will be my first try.
All 3 shades look fab on you, but I like Splurge the best!
Let me know how you like Splurge once you’ve tried it, Debra!
This is a gorgeous color and fantastic formula!! I wore it all day with a fuchsia dress and the look was perfect.
I’m thrilled to hear it, Debra ;D
I don’t think any of these shades would be particularly flattering on my complexion, but I’m excited to see your future reviews of the other shades in this line! 🙂 I always love a good hydrating lipstick.
Hydrating is always a happy thing!
I have a feeling that splurge will soon prove to have earned that name 🙂 What a pretty shade!
Haha!
I really like how Splurge looks!
Yay!
Thanks for the swatches/reviews Christine! I love this formula but I feel like MAC keeps on renaming and rereleasing too similar of shades and the launches keep running together. I wish they released some unconventional colors, like a creamy aqua shade.
How does Ladies Who Lunch compare to MAC Mineralize Rich lipstick in Be Fabulous?
I don’t know why they insist on releasing nearly-identical shades with new names – MAC doesn’t have a problem repromoting products, so just bring back the shade?! It’s more annoying when they’re SUPER SUPER close.
I absolutely love Splurge!
That seems to be everyone’s fave!
Splurge is definitely the pick here!
Random mildly Interesting story – we’ve just got moody blooms here, and the things that haven’t sold out are the green eyeliner and the copperthorn eyeliner! I was expecting them to go first, but apparently not! 😛
Go figure! I feel like the green eyeliner was going to be a quick sell.
Splurge is the one I want to try. It’s so pretty. I only own Amplified and Lustre formulas right now.
If you like Lustres, you may like the Mineralize range!
Christine how does Boutique pink and ladies who lunch compare to Mac naughty saute from the mac shop cook collection? I’m looking for a dupe for that lipstick.
It’s not really like either.
Have you tried using our Dupe List? http://www.temptalia.com/makeup-dupe-list?d=Naughty+Saute&id=107380
How does Ladies Who Lunch compare to Be Fabulous (another MAC mineral lipstick)? Also, do you know why Ladies Who Lunch and Splurge are not marked as limited edition on the MAC website?
They’re pretty different! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=170207&dupe=160113
No, I have no idea. MAC did not issue a press release for this collection!
Tooo many awesome lippies out there calling my name.. Kat Von D, new shades of Givenchy Le Rouge, BITE matte crayons.. so it’s an easy pass.
The shades seem to be more typical than atypical, so they’re really not so interesting 🙁
I know I have Ladies Who Lunch and Splurge was only available in Europe.. But where was Boutique Pink available?! I’ve never seen it before…
It just launched here!
I like 1 and 3.I’d probably get less than a nhours wear with them, though. I eat all my lipsticks at aquick pace 🙂
LOL!
I didn’t know Bold Spring was limited edition. I hope I can still find one! Boutique Pink looks like a good shade to grab too though. It looks so pretty on you!
I think MAC is rotating shades in and out of the range… but I am not sure.
Boutique Pink is beautiful shade but I am stunned how beautiful Splurge looked on lips.. 🙂
Splurge seems to be the one that caught a lot of readers’ eyes!
