MAC Beatrix, Victorian, Velvet Rebellion Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Beatrix
MAC Beatrix Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep, reddened burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and fine, ruby red pearl. It had good pigmentation with a velvety consistency that glided on without tugging but adhered well to the lips and did not slide around. It wore well for over six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating on me.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Victorian
MAC Victorian Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The texture was lightweight, smooth, and velvety without feeling clingy or too slippery. The color stayed on well for five and a half hours and felt a touch drying.

Velvet Rebellion
MAC Velvet Rebellion Lipstick ($17.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The consistency was velvety and smooth, which made it easy to pull the lipstick across my lips and not have it drag or tug. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that covered my lips evenly with just a bit of color getting into my deeper lip lines. The lipstick wore well for six and a half hours on me and was non-drying.

I really, really want to like these MAC velvets, but so far they all look too dark for me. 🙁
Beatrix is really beautiful. I kinda want it because I love the color of Diva but my bullet has gone really dry. Maybe it’s too old. But then I remember the anti haul post! But it’s Temptalia Recommends! Lol. Are these permanent?
They are limited edition!
It’s always great to see vampy shades with good grades. I’m loving Beatrix.
Y’know I’ve got to be loving these, right? Let’s see; I’m the proud owner of MAC Media, Deep Love, Diva, UD Disturbed, Troublemaker, CP Prim….and yet, I’m just itching to get one more deep, gothy, vampy one!
WOW, all three of these are gorgeous. I think they would be stunning on my daughter so a couple will be in her Advent Calendar. I am thinking Beatrix and Victorian as they are the least similar.
I want all of these – every one of them is just divine. Such beautiful, rich autumnal shades. Glorious.
i really need to get beatrix considering my name is beatriz and that’s probably the closest to my name every brand will get
Oooooh, I really like all 3 of those! I’m really into wearing those deep reds this fall, and those look so pretty. I’m glad they got good reviews. I may have to go check them out before they are gone!
I love that these vampy shades performed well! I’m really liking Beatrix and Velvet Rebellion the most, will have to see which one I get.
Oooh I really like Beatrix.
I don’t usually wear these kinds of really dark colors but I can see why people who do would love these 3 – the quality if visible.
