MAC Beach Nut & Goodbye Kiss Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Beach Nut
MAC Beach Nut Lipstick ($18.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a medium-dark, muted purple with subtle,w arm undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff was fantastic with smooth, even coverage in a single layer. The lipstick had a firmer, denser feel in the tube but glided across my lips without dragging. It wore well for six hours, left a faint, pinkish stain behind, and was non-drying. It was listed as a matte, but it didn’t look matte until after a few hours of wear (after the shine wore away).

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and the pigmentation and wear tend to be dependent on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to wear for only a couple of hours and have sheer coverage (as designed) and are non-drying.
Some of the original Matte shades have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a more velvety, silicone-feel to them, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most Matte shades are quite pigmented and long-wearing, though some are drying.
The Amplified and Satin finishes tend to have good pigmentation, lightly creamy to moderately creamy consistencies with a bit of shine, and moderate to long wear with deeper, richer shades wearing longer. The Frost and Metallic finishes have the most variance between shades with coverage ranging from semi-sheer to opaque with average wear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Goodbye Kiss
MAC Goodbye Kiss Lipstick ($18.50 for 0.10 oz.) is a slightly bright, medium pink with cool, blue undertones and a cream finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a lightweight, lightly creamy texture that had moderate slip but adhered well to my lips and didn’t slide around while worn. The lipstick stayed on well for four and a half hours with a lightly hydrating feel.

These are really pretty shades. I want Beach Nut.
Beach Nut is as beautiful in performance as it is in appearance. I’m loving this one! But I think it’s one I need to try on to make sure that it doesn’t run too cool for my skintone. It probably won’t, but I just want to be sure.
I’m skipping that bubblegum/cotton candy pink shade, though! These are the types of shades that can make me look green around the gills, LOL.
Beach nut is BEAUTIFUL! I’m glad it got a good rating, too 🙂
Really like both of these but Beach Nut is my favorite. I love it paired with your eye look.
Beach Nut is not particularly close to its dupes, at all. Think it will be a huge hit with purple lovers, who will be able to justify it pretty easily. Beautiful.
Both are really pretty, I’m uncertain about Goodbye Kiss but will absolutely get Beach Nut.
I love purple lipstick! I just did a swatch comparison between Beach Nut and MAC Heroine, which is the best purple I’ve found for my skin tone. Unfortunately, Beach Nut looks way too cool-toned for me, but it is a very pretty shade.
Ugh… I loved beach nut but was afraid it would my teeth look yellowish. And now that you mention it being more on the cool side of purple, well, I don’t know if it work for me and my warm complexion. Still a lovely color for a night out.
When will these be available? I love the purple!
Beach nut is a beautiful color; but, I almost regret buying it because it looks so much like Rossy by MAC, which I already own. You are right, though. The color goes on beautifully. So, I guess it’s a keeper. I just wish it was a little less like Rossy.
