L'Oreal Enamel Red & Glossy Garnet Colour Riche Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Enamel Red
L’Oreal Enamel Red Colour Riche Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.10 oz.) is a rich red with cool undertones and a natural sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a lightweight, lightly emollient texture that was smooth and balm-like, which made it comfortable to apply and to wear. The color applied evenly and lasted well for five hours. It left a faint stain behind and was hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$9.99/0.1 oz. - $99.90 Per Ounce
The formula is described as "an ultra-rich, ultra-radiant lipstick with a glossy finish and comfortable wear." Per the brand, "in just one stroke," you'll get "rich color pay-off" with a "hydrating and lasting shine." The pigmentation varied from shade to shade but was generally medium to semi-opaque, often buildable to semi-opaque to opaque coverage. The texture was moderately emollient with noticeable slip, balminess, and felt lightweight on the lips.
Most of the shades did not emphasize the texture of my lips and didn't settle much into my lip lines (glossier, more slippery formulas often do!). The shades lasted between three and five hours with deeper/richer hues lasting longer and leaving very faint stains behind. I found the formula to be lightly hydrating over time and comfortable to wear. They had a sweet, fruity scent but no discernible taste.

Glassy Garnet
L’Oreal Glassy Garnet Colour Riche Shine Lipstick ($9.99 for 0.10 oz.) is a soft, medium-dark berry with subtle, cool undertones and barely-there pearl paired with a luminous sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer that was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The lipstick was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and balm-like so there was some slip but not enough to feel like it slid around while worn. It stayed on nicely for five hours, left a faint stahin behind, and was moisturizing while worn.

These are so pretty and I love the packaging! The last thing I need is another lipstick, but I might just try one out. Guerlain #78 has been on my want list for a long time, so maybe I’ll get Glossy Garnet instead.
Update: I was just at Walgreens and these lipsticks were on sale. Buy one, get one half off. So I went for it, of course. 😀 Picked up Glossy Garnet and Varnished Rosewood.
These look far better than most HE balm type sheer lipsticks. My pick is that juicy berry shade, Glassy Garnet!
Oh, these are lovely! Always exciting to see quality drugstore reds. I love that you review items from across the entire spectrum, Christine.
These are one of favorite drugstore lip products ever! I’m so glad they getting such awesome reviews. My favorite is Luminous Coral; my to-go summer lip color.
These are very pretty!
That Glassy Garnet is gorgeous! Since it’s not mention, is it safe to assume that it’s fragrance free? I’m super picky about fragrance in my lipsticks.
I picked up the Glassy Garnet this evening at CVS while getting a prescription to check it out. It does have a fragrance. It dissipated pretty quickly, but it’s there when you apply it. I sometimes have allergic reactions to lipsticks (actually, it happens more often with high-end brands I think because they’re more likely to put in exotic oils and waxes!) so I’ll see if this is any problem. Very pretty color!
Thanks for the heads up!
These are much better shades and I love Enamel Red. So vibrant.
Whoa! With you giving these such high ratings, I’m wondering if I really need a Pat McGrath lipstick. 😉 Of course the tube is not as pretty, so okay perhaps one or two , after my makeup fast. LOL!
I’ve never been able to wear traditional L’Oreal lipstick because the scent is so overpowering, so I’d be very curious to know if these have the same scent or if they are an entirely different (and hopefully fragrance-free!) formula.
Hi Maria,
I addressed this under “Formula Overview,” which is included with every shade reviewed!
