LORAC Black Tie Attire Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

LORAC Black Tie Attire Black Friday 2016 Eyeshadow Palette

Black Tie Attire

LORAC Black Tie Attire Eyeshadow Palette ($18.00 for 0.41 oz.) contains seven eyeshadows housed in a slim, cardboard palette with a mirror under the lid. While it seemed compact, it contained quite a bit of product! I was more impressed by this palette than I anticipated, as the eyeshadows were pigmented with soft, blendable textures and lasted a decent length of time. The formula runs thinner and soft enough that it can be dusty, so it will wear longer over a primer for sure, but I didn’t have any trouble getting pigmentation or applying them without primer.

This palette is exclusive to Ulta as a Black Friday doorbuster, which means that it will be available today (November 24th) at 5PM CT.

LORAC Black Tie Attire #1 Eyeshadow

Black Tie Attire #1

Black Tie Attire #1 is a bright, warm white with a soft, frosted finish. The texture was incredibly soft, a bit dusty, but blendable and easy to work with on the skin. It had good pigmentation and wore well for seven hours before creasing.

LORAC Black Tie Attire #2 Eyeshadow

Black Tie Attire #2

Black Tie Attire #2 is a light-medium peach with warm, orange undertones and a frosted finish. The eyeshadow had great color payoff paired with a smooth, lightly dusty texture that was prone to sheering out when blended, so it was a shade that would benefit greatly from primer. It wore well for seven hours on me.

LORAC Black Tie Attire #3 Eyeshadow

Black Tie Attire #3

Black Tie Attire #3 is a medium brown with warm undertones and a frosted finish. The texture was dustier, so it looked a bit drier when I swatched it, but it seemed to “melt” on my lids and did not appear dry or dusty in practice. It had opaque color coverage and started to fade after seven hours of wear.

LORAC Black Tie Attire #4 Eyeshadow

Black Tie Attire #4

Black Tie Attire #4 is a light beige with subtle, warmer undertones and a matte finish. The pigmentation was intense and yielded full coverage, but the texture was a little powdery and prone to sheering out as a result. On my lid, it lasted for just over seven hours before creasing.

LORAC Black Tie Attire #5 Eyeshadow

Black Tie Attire #5

Black Tie Attire #5 is a medium brown with strong, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had a soft, smooth consistency that blendable well and was nearly effortless to use on the lid. I was surprised at just how evenly it applied on bare skin, and I had no trouble layering it over and under other shades in the palette. The pigmentation was true-to-pan and opaque. The wear was shorter than average at seven hours.

LORAC Black Tie Attire #6 Eyeshadow

Black Tie Attire #6

Black Tie Attire #6 is a medium-dark bronzy brown with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. This shade had opaque color coverage with a soft, smooth texture that wasn’t too thick or too thin, not too soft or too firm in the pan. It was easy to blend out on the lid, and it was just a fuss-free product overall. It could have worn better, as it only lasted for seven and a half hours, but a primer would certainly help it go the last few hours better.

LORAC Black Tie Attire #7 Eyeshadow

Black Tie Attire #7

Black Tie Attire #7 is a light-medium gold with warm, yellow undertones and a lightly sparkly, frosted finish. The texture was somewhat dusty, so the larger bits of shimmer/sparkle pulled away from the base to a degree, which made it harder to use this color with precision. It had good pigmentation, though, and lasted for seven hours on me.

I used to buy Carol’s product, which is Lorac, spelled in reverse of “Carol”. She was the makeup to the stars like Nocole Kidman. And her products were skin friendly. I avoid, “made in China, products. Rather buy Maybelline. Had she still maintain her standards, I would still be buying from her. Really like her powder products then.

I kinda want this — pretty decent group of basics in easy-to-transport small palette, and a reasonable cost. I will likely pick it up if I spot it in stores in coming days/weeks.
