Lancome Rouge Pigalle & French Tea L'Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Rouge Pigalle (82)
Lancome Rouge Pigalle (82) L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick (2022) ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a vibrant, medium-dark red with neutral undertones and a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation in a single stroke, which adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips. The consistency was lightweight with a hint of velvety glide, so it didn’t drag but it did require a heavier hand to slide it along. It wore well for over six hours, left a stain behind, and felt neither drying nor hydrating.

Formula Overview
$32.00/0.12 oz. - $266.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to deliver "intense bold color in one swipe" with a "vibrant and matte finish." The texture is firmer, slightly denser and stiffer, though not to the point where it dragged or became painful to apply. I found that the added stiffness made it easier to get a more precise edge when working with the formula, which was quite pigmented overall.
Despite having a very matte finish, as promised, the formula sat well on my lips and did not seem prone to emphasizing lip lines, settling into lip lines, or clumping around texture, which made it a more flattering matte formula to wear. They were transfer-resistant and longer-wearing with many shades lasting over six hours on me. The formula felt lightly hydrating to non-drying overall and were comfortable to wear.
They had a floral scent and very subtle taste at times, though not consistently for me.

French Tea (274)
Lancome French Tea (274) L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Lipstick (2022) ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a soft, more muted orange with moderate, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in one layer, which could be built up to full coverage. The consistency was particularly lightweight, thin but not clingy, and comfortable to wear despite feeling a little firmer in the tube initially. It stayed on well for four and a half hours and felt non-drying.

Because last year I went a bit orange lipstick crazy, I probably don’t actually need French Tea, but I sure do love it! That looks like one gorgeous orange that doesn’t run too warm for me.
I like both of these shades, French Tea is one I would wear, as it has those muted orangey tones and I think the Rouge Pigalle shade is a lovely day time red.
