Blanc Scintillant

Lancome Blanc Scintillant Petit Tresor Eyeshadow ($26.00 for 0.045 oz.) is a bright, sparkling white with subtle, warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had semi-sheer coverage applied dry and semi-opaque coverage applied damp. The consistency was soft, a little dry and looser in the pan, and this particularly shade was better used with a damp brush, as it applied more evenly. The color lasted for eight and a half hours both dry and damp, but this was nowhere near the 16-hours claimed.

The Petit Tresor formula is supposed to have a “delicate and creamy formula” that “does not crease” and can be used “dry or wet to increase color intensity,” per Lancome’s website. One additional claim, which was on several other retailers for this product, was that the formula is supposed to have 16-hour wear. The formula is comparable to ones like MAC Extra Dimension and NARS Dual-Intensity. It felt smooth in the pan, blended out easily on the skin, and tended to have richer pigmentation and a stronger, more metallic finish applied damp than when used dry. I think that the formula looks better in person than in just photos, as it has a very “lived-in” kind of finish–a little melted in, so there’s an illusion of wetness but not creasing on the skin.

As long as you’re not a stickler for wear time, I actually quite enjoyed these and felt like they created a beautiful, sparkling finish on the lid.

Rose Satin

Lancome Rose Satin Petit Tresor Eyeshadow ($26.00 for 0.045 oz.) is a very light peach with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-sheer coverage applied dry, which was blendable and worked best as a soft wash of color. It had mostly opaque coverage when applied with a damp brush, and it had a more metallic finish. The consistency was soft, a touch loose in the pan but did not result in a lot of fallout during application. The color wore well for eight hours on me.

Brune Glace

Lancome Brune Glace Petit Tresor Eyeshadow ($26.00 for 0.045 oz.) is a medium-dark, rosy copper with warm undertones and a metallic finish. It had good color payoff both dry and damp, though it was a bit darker and more metallic when applied with a damp brush. The consistency was soft, smooth, and blendable, while the eyeshadow adhered well to bare skin and wore for nine hours before creasing–still not close to the 16-hour mark, unfortunately.

Hotel Particulier

Lancome Hotel Particulier Petit Tresor Eyeshadow ($26.00 for 0.045 oz.) is a deep, smoky purple with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic sheen. Applied dry, it had semi-opaque, softer color payoff with more of a satin to pearl finish. Applied damp, it was richly pigmented and had a more pronounced, reflective sheen. It was easy to apply to bare skin both wet and dry, but the richer payoff of the damp application made it easier to apply it evenly and still blend it out well. This shade lasted for nine hours on me.

Me, too. There used to be a time when I would buy or receive a palette a year but not for a long time now. I’m a fan of their Visionnaire skincare line, facial cleanser, micellar cleansing water, under eye concealer (which I use to cover blemishes on the body, esp. in the summertime), foundation (big fan of Teint Idole Ultra) and mascara.

I have been searching for reviews and there is very little online. Thanks for reviewing them, Christine!

The look you did with them is very pretty. The finish is very beautiful, glowy but not overly metallic, I like it! I was curious about these shadows but not willing to purchase one without seeing a review, Lancome is really hit-and-miss with their shadow formulas! Do you know if the holiday palette is in the same formula as these, or if it’s their regular shadows?

Hi Lulle, based on a YouTube video by Missfrankiecat, the palette looks like their regular shadows. She gave the palette a poor review. Lisa Elderidge did a tutorial using pieces from the holiday collection. In her video, she used the Blanc Scintallant shadow as a glittery highlighter, which I thought was a neat application trick.

Hi J, you might try Saks in TO as it’s possible they have it. The Canadian settings on Saks’ website shows the individual palettes retailing for $35 CDN. If it shows in stock here, it’s likely they will have it in one of their 2 stores. They ship, too. May be worth a call.

I have tried the eyeshadows on my hand at a lancome counter. They are soooo beautiful. The palette from this collection is even more beautiful. BUT when I removed the eyeshadows from my hand the glitter particles were still there. Really hard to get rid of them. This is a fact I normally do not know from high quality eyeshadows. So I really have to think about buying them. The palette is sooooo beautiful and the singles also.

The packaging and embossing on these shadows is so stunning, I loooove it!! It’s very Dior-like to me. I would have a hard time using these and messing up the gorgeous embossing on the shadows. But I’m really tempted by that purple!! And maybe the light rose shade too.

Brune Glace reminds me of that Estee Lauder Modern Mercury highlighter, but for eyes!

Almost wanted to get it, but I see Weenie is listed as a possible dupe which I already own and it appears to just be a bit more brown toned than Brune Glace. Not different enough for me to justify the cost of this eyeshadow though it’s totally a ‘me’ color. $26 dollars saved. 🙂

I’m sorry, Ae, it’s my fault – I am so slow and behind that it is taking me a long time to reply to comments right now. I’m so sorry! I have about 400 to go, and I’m hoping to get through at least half of them today. Again, I am very sorry for being so slow when it comes to getting back to everyone who takes the time to leave comments.
