Kevyn Aucoin Grapevine The Neo-Blush Trio Review, Photos, Swatches
Grapevine
Kevyn Aucoin Grapevine The Neo-Blush Trio ($38.00 for 0.20 oz.) blends together to create a bright pop of fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was buildable that blended out fairly easily, though it wasn’t quite effortless. Swirled together, the color wore well for eight and a half hours on me. Two of three shades were silky and finely-milled, but the deepest shade was drier to the touch and was the harder shade to blend out of the three. The gradient effect is definitely something doable on the cheeks, too, and it was quite pretty layered that way; I recommend starting with the center shade, then highlighting with the left shade, and deepening the overall color (almost as a contour) with the right-most shade.

Formula Overview
$38.00/0.2 oz. - $190.00 Per Ounce
Each trio includes a mix of pearl, satin, and matte blushes that gently "fade into each other" with a "micro-fine pressed powder" that feels like "silk" with "intensely pigmented color." The shades can be used individually or swirled together, per the brand. It is easiest to use the blush half-and-half or altogether, but a tapered highlighting brush can fit into each of the three sections without much fuss. The texture was, generally, soft and blendable with pigmentation that varied shade by shade but was usually more pigmented than not. It was harder to keep the matte shades truly matte as once I used the blush together, it was hard to completely remove any residual shimmer from the matte shade(s).

Grapevine #1
Grapevine #1 is a soft pink with subtle, warmer undertones and a satin sheen. It had good pigmentation with a soft, lightly powdery texture that was blendable on my skin but a little messy in the pan. The blush stayed on well for eight hours before fading slightly.

Grapevine #2
Grapevine #2 is a rich, medium-dark pink with subtle, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had nearly opaque color in a single layer, but it was surprisingly easy to diffuse and blend out on my cheeks, though I would recommend using a very light hand or a fan brush when applying it and build up gradually. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on before starting to fade.

Grapevine #3
Grapevine #3 is a rich plum with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with slightly more patted on top of the first layer. The texture was drier compared to the other two shades, and I found it harder to diffuse and blend out without having to use a separate buffing brush to get softer edges. It did retain its color well when blended, though, as some deeper hues like this can start to lose their depth when blended. It lasted for just over eight and a half hours on me before I noticed signs of fading.

A full $10 more (plus taxes) here in Canada. Very pretty, though the deepest shade looks almost scary, though I guess that’s how you applied it so we could really see the colour. I’m tempted to pick this up, though – the lighter shades are lovely and even the deepest one, blended with/into the lighter ones, would work well.
I know. Same temptation, Mariella.
This particular shade was on my wishlist since the day it launched. I’m too scared to take the splurge though, knowing that I’d never really make the deeper shade work on my pale-ass cheek.
Because purple. Yes, I really like this one a lot. I really ought to just make better, more consistent usage of my pans of UD Bittersweet, CP Sticky Sweet, etc. before I jump this…. let’s see how long that resolve lasts! Ha!
Whilst this shade isn’t for me, I like the gradient effect.
Wow, that purple shade is vibrant! Looking forward to seeing the other blush gradients.
It’s a very pretty trio!
I’ve been intrigued by these since they launched. I have one of the the h/l gradient palettes. I had Grapevine on my wishlist because I do not have that many blushes in the cooler plum range. Sadly, I think this is too intense for my skintone and tastes.. I know I could soften it up with the lightest shade, but I would never remotely get through this pan, but it’s a beautiful palette! Look forward to seeing others in this product if you have them, but doubt they would be as unique.
I got this one….but ended up returning it. It applied blotchy and uneven. I just wasn’t impressed with it.
I also have Rose Cliff and Sunset and I love them. Just not this one.
