JD Glow Secrets Galaxy Shadow

Secrets

JD Glow Secrets Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a brighter, light blue with cool undertones and warmer, pink and gold shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges. The consistency was soft, smooth, and lightly creamy without being too dense or too firmly pressed into the pan. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before creasing slightly.

Formula Overview

$7.50/0.095 oz. - $78.95 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented" with a "built in primer." The texture was creamier, smooth, and more emollient without being too thick or too firmly pressed into the pan, so while it was denser and not at all powdery, I had no trouble picking up product with a dry brush. Using a wet brush or fingertip to apply helped to minimize slight to light fallout that was more typical with dry brush application.

The pigmentation was semi-opaque to opaque with good adhesion to bare skin, and the powders blended out well along the edges. Some of the more sparkly shades had light fallout when blended or the sparkles dispersed a bit more readily, so precision placement was harder. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading or lightly creasing.

The one thing to note, though, is that they had a heavy, sweet, fruity scent that I could detect periodically through the day. The empty palette I placed all of the eyeshadows in practically bursts with scent when I open.

JD Glow Good Gawd Galaxy Shadow

Good Gawd

JD Glow Good Gawd Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a light mauve with warm undertones and flecks of iridescent sparkle that shifted slightly between pink and blue. The texture was smooth, lightly emollient, and thin without being difficult to pick up or to apply.

I was surprised at how well the product adhered and how minimal the fallout was when used with a dry brush (though you’ll want to use a fingertip or a dampened brush to get no fallout!). It had rich color payoff that wore nicely for eight and a half hours with very little fallout over time.

JD Glow N-sane Galaxy Shadow

N-sane

JD Glow N-sane Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark lavender with warm, pink undertones and cooler, blue-to-violet shifting shimmer and sparkle that gave it a metallic finish.

It was intensely pigmented where a little went a long way, though the consistency wasn’t powdery, so it was easy to use a lighter hand if desired. The texture felt smooth to the touch, creamy without being too dense or too thick, and was blendable on bare skin. It lasted well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

JD Glow Plum Galaxy Shadow

Plum

JD Glow Plum Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a brighter, light-medium purple with subtle, cool undertones and warmer, golden shimmer and sparkle. The consistency felt soft, smooth, and lightly emollient without being too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan.

It had excellent pigmentation in a single layer, which adhered well to bare skin but was best applied and pressing/patting motions to avoid a bit of fallout otherwise. The color stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

JD Glow Fairy Acid Galaxy Shadow

Fairy Acid

JD Glow Fairy Acid Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.0952 oz.) is a medium-dark, dirty pewter that leaned slightly greenish paired with a sparkling, metallic finish. It had some larger sparkle particles through it, which adhered for the most part, but there was light fallout during application (and later on during wear).

It had opaque color coverage in a single layer, which was blendable along the edges without it losing its intensity. The consistency was lightly creamy, dense but not firm, and easy to pick up with a dry brush. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours with light fallout over time.

So many really solid, good ones here! Oddly, even though I have dupes for the three I’m loving, the dupes are not as complex of shades as these, nor as metallic. KVD Tinsel, for instance, has no shifting shimmers in it like Fairy Acid. CP Fluff doesn’t have as intense of a gold shimmer as does Plum. And none of my dupes for N-Sane are as rich in complexity!
