Opal
JD Glow Opal Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a light pink with warmer undertones and a cooler, bluish-green shift paired with a metallic finish. It had an incredibly smooth, almost cream-powder feel to it, so there was an emollient slip to it without it actually being a cream eyeshadow. It had rich color coverage that applied beautifully to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of color. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours before creasing slightly.

Formula Overview
$7.50/0.095 oz. - $78.95 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented" with a "built in primer." The texture was creamier, smooth, and more emollient without being too thick or too firmly pressed into the pan, so while it was denser and not at all powdery, I had no trouble picking up product with a dry brush. Using a wet brush or fingertip to apply helped to minimize slight to light fallout that was more typical with dry brush application.
The pigmentation was semi-opaque to opaque with good adhesion to bare skin, and the powders blended out well along the edges. Some of the more sparkly shades had light fallout when blended or the sparkles dispersed a bit more readily, so precision placement was harder. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading or lightly creasing.
The one thing to note, though, is that they had a heavy, sweet, fruity scent that I could detect periodically through the day. The empty palette I placed all of the eyeshadows in practically bursts with scent when I open.

Bestie
JD Glow Bestie Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a medium-dark, orange-copper with flecks of larger gold sparkle. It had opaque color payoff in a single layer, which applied evenly and smoothly to bare skin, but the larger sparkles resulted in some fallout during application.
I also found that the sparkles had a tendency to migrate more than desired when I blended out the edge, so it was a shade that was best pressed and patted into place with minimal blending around the edge. The texture was fairly smooth, dense without being overly firm or too thick, and lightly creamy to the touch. It lasted nicely for eight hours with slight fallout over time.

Starluster
JD Glow Starluster Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark coral with pinker undertones (making it appear cooler-toned) and lots of warmer, gold shimmer that gave it a sparkling, metallic finish. It had excellent pigmentation that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product that blended out easily along the edges, though there was a smidgen of fallout. The consistency was lightly creamy, dense without being too firmly pressed in the pan or too thick. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

365
JD Glow 365 Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is an intense, medium gold with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had a subtle, green-gold shift at times, but it was more very reflective (and therefore lighter, brighter) and less reflective (darker, almost redder) with a mix of green and gold shimmer/sparkle.
It had opaque color coverage in a single layer with a smooth, almost cream-like texture that was a bit thicker but not too firmly-pressed into the pan. The product applied evenly to bare skin, blended out well but had a bit of fallout as I worked with it. The color stayed on well for eight and a half hours before creasing faintly.

Unexpected
JD Glow Unexpected Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) seemed to have a brighter, dirty gold base with multi-colored shimmer and finer sparkle–blue, violet, gold popped out to my eye–paired with an intense, metallic finish. It is supposed to have “purple, green, teal, and gold effects,” per the brand.
There seemed to be a shift from lighter, gold-green to deeper gold to plum, but I didn’t get as much of a shift (like a multichrome) on the lid as I did in person. I did get more of a cool, multi-colored twinkling effect, though, which I found hard to replicate from past products I’ve tried. It had opaque color coverage with a smooth consistency that felt like liquid-cream to the touch. The eyeshadow stayed on well for eight and a half hours on me.

I love it when eyeshadow can make my heart race (not like in a scary send help way lmao but in the falling into infatuation way lmao)
Bestie, Starluster and Unexpected; Mmmm mmm good! Unexpected is so far beyond creative and unique that it takes my breath away.
Between this brand and Clionadh, SG, I’m gonna go broke but have the eyeshadows of my wildest dreams!
These all look gorgeous! Especially that “Unexpected” shade.
Opal and Unexpected are my favorites. These look smooth and beautiful!
Omfg!!! These eyeshadows are spectacular. How silly of me to overlook this brand thinking it’s just another instagram brand. Thank you for reviewing these, Christine!!
There are so many new brands and ones that are online-only, so you only hear about them on social mostly… it’s hard to keep track of all of them!
Is JD Glow black owned?
It is!
Better and better 🙂
How beautiful are these shades? I love Unexpected and 365…. I have never heard of this brand before and they certainly seem like they are putting out some gorgeous shades. Love your eye look too Christine.
I have almost all these and my favorite of all time is unexpected. It’s a very special eyeshadow and looks like diamonds on my eyes when I wear it. It’s my favorite eyeshadow that I’ve ever purchased and one that I’m scared to hit pan on because I use it so often and it’s always sold out.
Did you notice them having a pretty strong scent to them? I have couple of these and mine that smell doesn’t go away at all.
Yes, it’s noted under “Formula Overview!”
