Huda Beauty Summer Solstice 3D Highlighter Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Summer Solstice
Huda Beauty Summer Solstice 3D Highlighter Palette ($45.00 for 1.10 oz.) includes a cream highlighter and three powder highlighters. The cream formula is described as a “pearlescent creamy formula” that will create a “flawless, lit-from-within canvas” and is ideal for layering with powders, though it can also be used “on its own for [a] dewy and natural” effect. The powder highlighters can be used alone or together and are merely described as “light-catching.
I think the brand altered the cream highlighter formula compared to the original two that launched earlier this year, as the shade included in this palette was creamier and thinner, not nearly as dense or as difficult to blend out. The powder highlighters remained as a moderately dense formula with moderate to intense shine. The three powder highlighters were buildable in coverage as two shades were semi-opaque (which I suspect some will prefer).

Saint-Tropez
Saint-Tropez is a brighter, light-medium gold with subtle, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had almost opaque coverage, which was forgiving enough that it couild be sheered out quite a bit if desired. The consistency was creamier, lightly tacky, and dried down for the most part. I was able to blend it over bare skin or over foundation without it lifting my base away, which was an issue I had with previous palettes. The highlighter had a noticeable sheen on my skin but did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It lasted well for six and a half hours on me.

Malibu
Malibu is a medium, golden copper with warm, brown undertones and a soft, metallic sheen. The consistency was slightly powdery, though it was still a denser formula overall. The coverage was more semi-opaque in a single layer, but I found it buildable and easy to blend out on the skin. It wore well for eight hours on me.

Copacabana
Copacabana is a soft pink with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It added subtle color and sheen to my skin, and it was one of the less metallic shades I’ve come across from the brand’s powder highlighters, which may or may not be your cup of tea. The texture was soft, blendable, and dense without being stiff or difficult to work with. On me, the highlighter lasted for eight hours.

Mykonos
Mykonos is a bright, medium-dark magenta purple with subtle, cool blue undertones and an iridescent shimmer. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which was somewhat buildable, paired with a moderately dense texture that took a heavier hand to get enough color to dislodge from the surface and get onto my brush. The finish was metallic and did emphasize my skin’s natural texture just slightly. This shade wore well for eight hours on me.

These colors are interesting, and I do like the mix of moderate to light pigmentation.
It is a cool set of shades!
I enjoy all of the Huda Beauty products I’ve tried but I haven’t bought any of her highlighters because I read your reviews of the previous 2 and I hate a cream highlight that pulls up my base. But I think I’m going to try this one I’ve been wanting to get it but was holding off for a review. They colors are very pretty but everything except the cream looks a little dark in the pan to be a highlight.
The cream highlighter in this palette was so much better!
Thanks for the review!
I’d been waiting for this one. To be honest, the reason why I wanted to buy this were the pink and purple shades, which are pretty based on your pictures, definitely.
However, I definitely wouldn’t use the cream highlighter and the other color just doesn’t call my name as much.
In Canada, this palette is $59 plus tax which brings it to almost $68. That’s really steep I find.
Even though I love the 2 colors I mentioned, I think I’m going to have to pass on this one. 🙁
On the bright side, the ABH Moonchild palette FINALLY made it to Canadian Sephoras (but I think it’s only online) and I’d been wanting that one so bad since it came out that I did purchase it.
Wearing it today and I love it.
One has to make choices! 😉
Moonchild is a really fun palette! Happy to hear you’re enjoying it.
This palette was a surprise love for me. I bought it for Mykonos but expected to either not use or only rarely use the other shades. All of my shades swatched similarly to yours with the exception of Mykonos which swatched (and wears) brighter, more purple, and WAY more iridescent. In fact, I was blown away at just how in-your-face this shade was! I thought the consistency, which you talk about, was a little odd but this is one pigmented palette. The only shade that I can’t wear on my cheek is Malibu and it works great as an eyeshadow. I also found that if you use Copacabana as a highlighter, using a light touch, over a cool-toned blush it will pull cooler. Thanks for your review!
Happy to hear that you’re enjoying the palette overall, Michele!
I’m still stunned! Will you be getting (or do you have) her Fall one to review?
Sorry, I don’t have anything else from Huda Beauty right now.
Ok, thank. Huda, if you’re listening – please send Christine your upcoming palette ASAP!
I really want to see your review on that upcoming palette before I pull the trigger. I’m only drawn to a few shades so if the palette isn’t spectacular it will be a pass for me.
Aaack! I can’t justify this, already have dupes for 2 of the shades (beige and pink)
Easy skip 🙂
I don’t need it, but I do love it! Especially Mykonos….oh my, what a gorgeous shade! The cream highlight is also a lovely one. A more unusual shade of gold, I would seem, too.
I did like how the gold cream highlighter wasn’t as warm or as orange-y as a lot of golds are!
I swatched her first two highlighting palettes and I wasn’t crazy for them. This one calls my name. That beautiful purple would look beautiful on shoulder, collar bones and cupid’s bow. I just may make this my first Huda Beauty product ever.
Let us know if you end up trying it, Jovana 🙂
I was looking at this lastnight on sephora! I’m slightly regretting now picking it up. But Ill live without it. You know? 😛
I think most of it is pretty dupable!
I am so drawn to these colors but not exactly sure how I’d use them all on the face. Does the packaging mention (or do you think) they are eye-safe?
You’d have to compare ingredients to see if they’re using all ingredients safe for the eyes!
A stunning palette though I’m not keen on the price point. Definitely not a palette that I would need though – that dark purple shade is quite a unique one. I can’t imagine it being easy to wear on a variety of different skintones.
Glad you can save some money here!
Well I hate to buy a palette for one color but I love the magenta oh my! It looks so pretty on you Christine!
Thank you, Janine!
Christine, I just have to say that I believe this eye look is hands down my favorite of all time that you’ve done. I will be buying that palette!!!?????
Oh, so so on the highlight palette. Lol.
Thank you, Shari!
Copacabana is a lovely shade, but the rest I don’t care for.
Money saved!
Drag out the radiant orchid! That was so off the radar. Wonder how it will do with greige? Guess I’ll see tomorrow. With Paris Nudes. Yeah! You are so right about that palette, Miss Christine. Might be a tad bright, but it’s a look. Temptalia’s weekly reminders! Thanks.
Thank you, KJH! 🙂
I really like this palette. I will not buy it, though. I like that the gold isn’t a yellowy or an orangey gold, it’s quite neutral. If it came as a single I would have bought it. The other highlighters are blushes for me, and the only one I really like is the Magenta, I might have a look at the dupe from Illamasqua.
You look lovely in all the highlighters. And, I love the eye makeup, it’s so gorgeous!
I’ll be passing on this one, too much pigment for warm tones for my skin!
I picked this up on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised by how pretty it is. It looks absolutely gorgeous on brown skin. Every shade is really perfect, and I like that it can either be subtle or more in your face depending on the type of brush I use. I like this much more than than the ABH Aurora palette, which I returned b/c of the excess glitter and I was only able to use 4 of the 6 shades. After getting this one, I almost went back and purchased the Golden Sands one but I read your review on how the cream highlighters are completely different in formula, so I put my wallet away. Hopefully, she’ll continue with the cream formula in this palette in the future.
surprisingly the magenta shade isn’t as horrible as I thought it would look. it looks like a glowing pink. Copacabana looks natural and pretty on you.
Christine, you eyes a beautiful here! Is it in a “look” so we can try it?

Thanks you! almost makes me want the palette, but I know I have similar colors, so i’m going to work your Dupe app on this one!
