Silver Fox
Huda Beauty Silver Fox Liquid Matte Lipsticks ($20.00 for 0.17 fl. oz.) is a medium-dark grayish taupe with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation in a single layer, which could have applied more evenly. The consistency was thin but fluid, so it spread well across the lips, but this particular shade seemed a little more watery than others. When it dried down, it was mostly matte but a touch tacky, though I did not get transfer. This shade lasted for five hours and was slightly drying.
The formula is supposed to have “true comfort-wear” with “intense color payoff” and a “transfer-free finish.” The formula dried down fairly quickly, where I had enough time to work the product across the lips but not so much time that it sank into all of my lip lines. I’ve only tried three shades (all featured here), but all three remained tacky for an hour or two after the initial application, though I did not see color lift up as a result. There was very little transfer until I started to eat a meal, and then it seemed to break down more readily. It had a very, very sweet vanilla scent that lingered while worn.

Silver Fox was a shade I wasn’t expecting from the brand. I would probably never wear it but it’s a cool colour to have.
I own Trophy Wife and it looks lovely on you as well Christine.
How do you like Trophy Wife?
It’s deeper on my complexion but the shade is beautiful. 😉

so glad you’re finally reviewing this line of liquid lipsticks, looking forward to seeing more!
Sorry to let you down but I don’t have any other shades!
OMG, Huda just take all my money girl. I’ve already ordered 4 of your Lip Strobes and now your mattes are scoring well too??? Yikes!
LOL!
I’m in love with the shade Trophy Wife, but the name makes me seriously cringe! Funniest part was looking at its dupe list, and seeing how many of those shades are also on my wishlist, LoL! I guess I love me a good plummy-rose lip, eh? ?
Totally understand! Sometimes the names make you scratch your head!
Trophy Wife is really pretty!
It is!
I love the color of Silver Fox.
It is a cool shade!
trophy wife looks awesome!
The color is gorgeous!
I absolutely love Trophy Wife and Muse. Muse is my holy grail liquid lipstick.
Nice! What do you like most about the formula, Shari?
Some lovely shades, but Silver Fox looks a little frightening…… good for a goth look I guess.
I think it could work well with some neutral looks!
Actually, it may be my fave of all the Huda so far! I’m on a gray, greige binge. Would have to try it first, though. Deeply rooted looks purple, though, on me. all 3 of these look smashing. As to the name, offensive, yeah, but I’ll be honest. Some days I wish I had been one! Would have enjoyed the opportunity to be high maintenance and ultra high income…and maybe could have gotten a good settlement when I couldn’t stand it anymore!
Trophy Wife is beautiful!!!
It is!
Silver Fox is gorgeous!!
It is a cool shade!
I’m sad these are drying! UG. The colors and finish are pretty good!
I’m a bit late to the comment game on this, but I purchased angelic lip strobe last month and fell in love with it. So when I saw the mini contour kit in trophy wife (with muse) and corresponding lip pencil, I gave it a go.
First off, I’ve noticed all lip colours look warmer and darker on my lips than on yours Christine, so I always consider that when I test a product after seeing you with it on.
Trophy wife looks much pinker on you. On me it’s an warm earthy mauve. I have nothing in this shade, so it’s a bold colour for me (my husband kept staring at my lips when I wore it) but it’s great for fall.
As a product, I’m impressed. It’s far less drying than my colour pop mattes, which I’m starting to avoid using more and more, unless I really want that “littlestitious” or “midi” lip, for example. Huda mattes apply nicely and seem to have really good staying power.
Now I wish Sephora in Canada carried more of her colours.
