Givenchy Rose Plumetis & Framboise Velours Le Rouge Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Givenchy Rose Plumetis (207) Le Rouge
Givenchy Rose Plumetis (207) Le Rouge ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a pinky mauve with subtle, cool undertones and a light shine. It had rich, opaque color coverage that applied beautifully without tugging or dragging. The color lasted well for five hours and was lightly hydrating. Buxom Dolly (LE, $21.00) is warmer, less pink. Givenchy Rose Boudoir (204) (P, $36.00) is brighter. Givenchy Brun Vintage (105) (P, $36.00) is a touch lighter, but it is very, very similar. MAC Mystical (LE, $16.00) is warmer. Estee Lauder Intense Nude (P, $30.00) is lighter, warmer. Buxom Centerfold (LE, $21.00) is cooler-toned, pinker. NARS Last Tango (LE, $26.00) is lighter, more matte. Urban Decay Rush (P, $22.00) is similar. MAC Mehr (P, $16.00) is more matte, lighter. MAC Craving (P, $16.00) is darker. Buxom Hooligan (P, $21.00) is warmer. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Givenchy Framboise Velours (315) Le Rouge ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a cool-toned, medium-dark raspberry pink with a soft shine. It had full color coverage, and it was extremely pigmented–one stroke is really all you need. It wore well for almost six hours on me and left behind a soft stain. The formula was comfortable to wear and hydrating. MAC Splurge (LE, $22.00) is more muted. Bite Beauty Crimson (LE, $28.00) is slightly brighter. Guerlain Gladys (78) (P, $51.00) is cooler-toned, brighter. YSL Exquisite Plum (22) (P, $34.00) is darker. YSL Forbidden Burgundy (12) (P, $34.00) is darker. MAC Commotion (LE, $20.00) is cooler-toned. Guerlain Madame Batifole (860) (LE, $51.00) is redder. Marc Jacobs Beauty Seduce Me (128) (P, $30.00) is cooler-toned, darker. MAC Rebel (P, $16.00) is cooler-toned, more matte. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
The only real miss with these is the fact that they’re really not “semi-matte” as described–there is a noticeable shine that lingers for two to three hours, and then it wears down slightly.

Wow, that Framboise Velours <3 <3 <3 maybe when I grow up I'll have enough money to buy that whole lipstick collection lol. So many incredible shades!
Hopefully, one day you can indulge 🙂
Beyooootiful! I just knew I was going to love both of these. I’m almost certain I do not have Brun Vintage, but I better double check.. snort.. how lame is it to not even know your own stash. Rolls eyes at self.
not losing mind completely..don’t have
Ooh, since you ended up not having Brun Vintage, definitely worth checking out 🙂
After all the navy lipsticks, this is chic, sophisticated and classic at its best. Love both colours. They don’t scream, “look at me” they confidently and understatedly say the same thing.
Gorgeous Christine!
Thanks, Helen!
These colors are gorgeous, I want both! They look great on you btw!
Aw, thanks, Ashley!
Givenchy lipsticks are just SO beautiful. I picked up the Sephora 100 point perk in Rose dressing and LOVE it!
Woohoo!! Glad you were able to try Rose Dressing – it is a lovely shade!
At first I thought Framboise Velours would be similar to Too Faced Melted Berry, but once compared side-by-side, they look quite different! Just another reason to love Temptalia’s Swatch Gallery. 😉
🙂 Thank you!
Ooh, I like Framboise Velours! I was thinking about getting Mac Rebel, but I prefer this formula, and the price difference isn’t so bad in the uk (£15.50 vs £25).
Ooh, not too bad!
I didn’t think Framboise Velours would be too interesting at first but I stand corrected.. it looks so nice!
Perfect for fall!
Oh this is bad. I love Brun Vintage but I sometimes wish it was just a tad deeper… apparently that’s Rose Plumetis! On the fence about buying it since they’re so similar, but I know I can’t wait long.
They’re pretty similar but definitely different enough that one could probably justify both…
I know what you mean. It’s amazing how the subtle difference changes things. I didn’t pick up Brun Vintage, thought it might pull warm on me. This one seems just right, a little cooler and mauvier.
Yes, I am so happy that these get you stamp of approval! Rose Plumetis is gaahgooorgeous!
Le Rouge continues to impress!
In LOVE with Rose Plumetis! Such a wearable gorgeous colour…
I just wanted to ask, do these Givenchy lipsticks have any scent/taste? (Overpowering scents usually really put me off…)
Rose scent but no taste (at least, not that I could discern).
Beautiful. And they both look gorgeous on you! I prefer the Rose Plumetis and mute rosey tones recently just because it’s easy to wear and look sophisticated in working place.
I think it’s such a lovely shade for fall, too!
The second is beautiful.
It is!
Framboise Velours is so beautiful! It’s exactly the kind of colour I love, but I already have most of the near-dupes you list… That’s always the problem, isn’t it? When you have a type of colour you love, you always want to collect more, but then you end up with a lot of similar colours. I just got my first lipstick in this formula and I’m loving it so far.
It’s so true, though. Like I love all these mauve-plum kind of shades, so I am drawn to them, yet how many does one need? 😉
I was going to say that Givenchy’s “Velvet Raspberry” is a lot like the cheaper MAC Splurge which is on its way to me! I guess the huge difference is the finish, the feel, the luxury, and the price!
Well, yes, there is the name brand too. I’d like to commit to a Givenchy sometime but just have not found The One. Blue-eyed blonde with MAC NW20-25 skin — a lot gets pitched at that “type”.
It definitely feels like a totally different formula/product on, even if the colors are similar – not so much to say “this is worth the price tag” but more that you’re right on the money – there is a significant difference in other aspects of it.
So is Givenchy Le Rouge in the Sephora store or just on-line?
I am making my list; need to check it twice!
I don’t live near a Sephora, so I don’t know what they have in-store or not, and Givenchy may or may not be carried at some physical locations. I believe you can always locate products in nearby stores through the online listing.
Nordies is the best I’ve got near me and they don’t carry it. I will look in the Sephora store. It is hard to say what they’re featuring of late!
Thanks 🙂
No prob!
Both the colors are gorgeous! I was waiting for the swatches since the day I saw these on Sephora website. I have both the colors 207 for me is MLBB. I am keeping 207 but still confused for 315, to keep or not. Overall I am loving these collection!
Any particular reason why you’re not loving Framboise Velours, Nikki?
It is great but I think I have some similar looking color but, they are not that bright. Like ysl rouge volupte shine 5 Fuchsia in Excess – bright luminous pink. I think the only difference is ysl is sheer & glossy and this is opaque and matte. What do you think?
I don’t have that shade, so it’s hard for me to say. I think being opaque/matte are pretty major differences so I could easily justify both, but that’s just me!
I thought its only me who thinks that way. But, I was wrong. There are others too!
That’s make me keep both!
Thank you so much!
I have just one Le Rouge (in Rose Dressing, from a Sephora deluxe sample), but I really like the formula! I was very happily surprised to see that it wasn’t drying at all on my typically dry/sensitive lips. These two shades look very nicely pigmented!
I’m so glad the formula was kind to your sensitive lips, Carolyn! It’s also nice that you were able to try it with points (vs. money)!
Thank you, Christine!
Yes! It was a very generous deluxe sample too that should last quite awhile. I am really enjoying Sephora’s deluxe samples these days! I have a NARS Priscilla lipgloss deluxe sample arriving in the mail tomorrow :).
Awesome! Always good when they’re samples you’ll actually use!
Framboise Velours is right up my alley! It’s so bright and pretty!
It is!
Are this part of a new collection or something like that ? I haven’t seen them on store …
They’re from Givenchy’s fall collection.
Both of these shades are so stunning! I came across the Givenchy Le Rouge lipstick range on here the other day and I honestly want them all.. Might have to treat myself 😉
They’re amazing!
Is Rose Plumetis similar to Urban Decay’s Fiend?
I’ll tell you a litte story. I once saw Fiend’s swatch here and I fell in love with it immediately. Urban Decay’s products are really really expensive in Brazil though, and I decided not to buy it. A friend was in the US and I asked her to buy it for me. I looked for more swatches and I didnt like the shade as much as I did when I saw it here…well, I decided to give it a try anyway, and now I can say: your swatch was the best and I’m so happy I asked he to buy it for me! 🙂
Fiend is brighter, warmer! http://www.temptalia.com/submit-dupe?sbs=1&pid=122539&dupe=170276
Aww! Thank you for sharing that story with me, Carolina! I’m so glad it worked out for you 🙂
When are these due in stores — I can’t find them online anywhere? Or did I miss them? Rose plumetis is gorgeous! Thanks for the swatches!
Hi Miradan,
They’re available at Sephora online – linked in the post.
Aha — they’re on the page for the Le Rouge Sensuously Matte, not the regular Le Rouge. Thanks!
Yay! Glad you were able to find them 🙂
Holy luxurious, Batman. These look AMAZING
They are! 😀
These are both super-lovely but I especially like the Framboise Velours which isn’t surprising since I also really like MAC Splurge (even the name!)
Do you think you’ll get either?
I bought Framboise Velours a few months ago and love it. The Le Rouge formula is definitely one of my favourites. I need to expand my collection I think. 🙂
Very nice! So glad you got one, Gillian!
SO PRETTY ARGH. 😛
Another gorgeous muted pink and another rich, stunning raspberry! These lipsticks are too pretty for their own good, seriously…
They are, really!
Lovely, both of them. I wonder were I can get Givency. Must Google!
I know here in the states it’s fairly limited… I think just Sephora at this point.
I’m loving these! Rose Plumetis is perfect for my upcoming job interviews. I may splurge 🙂
Good luck on your upcoming interviews, Valerie!
Thank you!
MUST. GET. ROSE. PLUMETIS.
Great choice!
Love love love! I love how Givenchy makes such wearable colors with great formulas. You can close your eyes and pick any one! You can’t go wrong.
Haha! So very true.
Both of these shades look stunning and they LOOK comfortable on then lips, lol. My bank account is gonna be made at me. 315 looks like a fall winner.
They are super comfortable on! Very easy to wear.
Love this look!
Thanks, Anne!
Both the shades are mind blowing on you 🙂
cant thank enough for the dupes you listed Christine 🙂
Always my pleasure, Rashmi! xo
I love love love the shade Rose Plumetis and I really want it but can’t seem to find it anywhere online in the uk! Does anyone know where I could find it and maybe if the name is different?

Have you seen any of the other fall pieces yet? Not sure if it’s out everywhere yet!
I love them both! WANT!
Yay!
I received Rose Plumetis today, and the pigmentation is absolutely insane! I was completely blown away. It is such a great formula and the packaging is so chic. I know it’s a bit of a splurge for most, but you definitely get your money’s worth.
I’m so thrilled you’ve loving Rose Plumetis! The pigmentation on the Le Rouge range is really nice, and I love the texture, too.
framboise velours is gorgeous! i have one of the givenchy lipsticks and i don’t love it, but i just might have to try this color!
Let me know if this one converts you!
Can anyone suggest a good lip liner for the Framboise Velours? Will Givenchy’s own “Rose” be dark enough for it?
Thank you!
How do you feel the colour of the 217 compares to Bite lip pencil in Quince (according to your Side-by-Side Comparison a picture is coming soon, so I’m guessing you have it!)?
Hi Sophie-Lee,
I don’t have it! We have a standard image that shows up (“coming soon”) for anything we don’t have up.
I, err, decided they were different enough and bought both…
It’s funny. I just got Framboise Velours in France and it’s more plum than pink. I wonder if colors are different in each country.
Interesting…
