Editor's Review

The formula is supposed to have "intense color" with a "semimatte finish." Most shades are opaque with a few falling short of full coverage that apply evenly and last between four and six hours. The fomrula is lightly creamy to moderately creamy with some slip that is comfortable to wear and typically moisturizing over time. It has a floral scent but no discernible taste.

This is an absolutely gorgeous raspberry lipstick. It is very easy to apply. It goes on opaque in one swipe, but it feels light on the lips. The first time I wore it, after a couple hours I looked in the mirror to see if there was any lipstick left on my lips because I couldn’t feel it, and it still looked perfect! It stays on for many hours, and when it finally fades, it leaves a nice stain, so it isn’t noticeable. The packaging is beautiful and glamorous. The version I got was a limited edition, with black leather that has a graphic pattern printed on it. I took off one star off of this review because it is strongly scented, which is the only thing about this lipstick that I don’t like. This scent will keep me from buying another lipstick from this line.

I only wish I had discovered this shade sooner. It's my HG and I'm not in the least surprised that Christine gave it an A+. Her review says it all better than I can. All I can add is my coloring, if that would be helpful to anyone else who might be considering it. But first, let me say that it looks a lot lighter on Christine than it looks on me. She has a much darker complexion that I do. I'm fair (not the fairest, but fair) with a slight pink undertone. My hair is very dark brunette (not black, but still very, very dark). My eyebrows are black. This color is a dark pink on me. It doesn't have enough blue in it to make it a fuchsia, imo. It's more of a somewhat bright (not bright-bright or neon), clear (as opposed to being muted with any brown or plum), reddish-pink -- at least that's how it appears on me. I believe it's a unique color (hence, the HG tag) and I certainly don't know of any quality dupes (and I've always searched for this color all my life, and that's no joke). It's more expensive than most, but the quality is so wonderful and the color is so flattering that I'm more than willing to pay the price. I love wearing it!!! :)

This lipstick is extremely comfortable to wear, has a deep beautiful color, and comes in a glossy gorgeous finish. Even though I have many reds, I got this in a Sephora sample size and am floored. I will definitely be buying more Givenchy lipsticks.

Framboise Velours (315) is another huge win for this formula. As a big fan of the LeRouge line in general, this one is no exception. The colour is outstanding and I believe will work across skintones: light to dark, cool to warm. The cool tones are subtle and indeed, as a darker lip colour, its surprisingly soft and highly wearable and doesn't run 'vampy' on my NC20ish neutral skin. I would compare this to Guerlain Madame Batifole, but this one is not as bright, pulls more plum than red and a little more wearable for those looking for a punchier colour without going over the top. It is absolutely gorgeous and serves to effortlessly brighten the complexion. Wonderful!

I'm a huge fan of the Givenchy LeRouge formula in general and have about a dozen shades and building in my stash. If you like super creamy, slightly thicker but lightweight, highly pigmented lipstick, this could be a perfect formula for you. I chose this shade, Rose Plumetis, as a casual day lip colour. For me, this works as a MLBB shade and is very similar to my actual lip tones. I was drawn to this particular shade as it runs a little cooler and plummier than others of similar ilk. I have neutral skintones and find this extremely flattering against my skin whereas most shades in this range pull more nude/warmer and look rather unremarkable. This one just gives me that little extra oompf.

Love this formula and love this color! Doesn't emphasize flakes on my lips at all unlike some similar lipsticks. The only bummer is that this is so pricey.
