LORAC Nude Skinny Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

LORAC Nude Skinny Palette
LORAC Nude Skinny Palette

LORAC Nude Skinny Palette ($15.00 for 0.45 oz.) is a set of seven shades of warm-toned neutrals ranging from pale beige to reddish-brown. This has now sold out online (it was still up yesterday, boo!!), so your only opportunity will be to see if you can find it in stores. I quite liked this one, so if you can find it, I think it’s well-worth considering for the wallet-friendly $15 price tag. I’ll be posting about the Navy palette tomorrow (which is also sold out online, sigh!), but a note in advance: not as impressive.

Zappos has it in stock! Thank you reader Jane for the heads up!!

Nude #1 is a light, warm-toned beige with a matte finish. It was slightly powdery, had good color payoff, wore well for eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Nude #2 is a brightened, medium orange-copper with warm undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. The texture is incredibly soft but almost a bit crumbly, though it is intensely pigmented. It lasted for eight hours on me with very slight fall out. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Nude #3 is a light-medium, muted orange brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good color payoff, a soft, blendable texture, and lasted for eight hours. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Nude #4 is a medium-dark, yellow-toned brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, while the texture was soft, it was quite powdery, which made it a harder shade to work with. This shade was slightly faded after seven and a half hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Nude #5 is a medium-dark copper with warm, orange undertones and a softened frost finish. It had excellent color payoff with a soft, smooth texture that was easy to work with. The color wore well for eight and a half hours before slightly creasing. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Nude #6 is a medium-dark, golden brown with warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had nice pigmentation, and the texture was blendable and buttery, though a smidgen powdery. The color showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Nude #7 is a dark, burgundy brown with a mostly matte finish-. It had so-so color payoff, and the texture was soft but slightly powdery. This shade wore well for almost eight hours on me. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

I might get this just for the price tag. This is a great deal and who doesn’t love a great deal!? the eye shadows are very subtle and simple and dupe-able but I like them.

Zappos may be a subsidiary of Nordstrom. This palette is far to warm for my tastes, but it is lovely all the same! Like I keep saying, there is still a huge demand for neutral palettes!

Jane Avatar

Update: Zappos apparently upgraded me to free overnight shipping and UPS says my palette will be here today. I hadn’t thought of Zappos as a place to order beauty products, but this is turning out to have been one of my more successful google searches…

Sae Avatar

Oh man. I am SO sad about this being SOLD OUT! Absolutely love the colors. I have the LORAC Unzipped palette and have since fallen in love with LORAC shadows! I definitely need to find this

Sae Avatar

Christine. I am so unbelievably happy I can kiss you through my computer screen. I ordered it before I could even finish reading your sentence. I was going to run to nordstroms during my lunch break hoping it’d be there and come back to work a bit late but you’ve saved me the trip. THANK YOU!<3 AND TO JANE AS WELL!

Sae Avatar

Yes! I went back to drool over the swatches! I wonder if Nude #4 is a dupe of Too Faced Milk Chocolate from the Chocolate Bar Palette? I returned that palette but my only regret was losing that one shadow since it was the only one I truly loved. Can’t wait to get this!

Emma M Avatar

What?!?!? It was up YESTERDAY??? Are you sure Christine?? I placed my order over a week ago when it was backordered – I figured I would get first dibs on it when more gets in before they posted online seeing as I placed my order first…. GRRRRRR!!!!!!
I’ve bitched out Nordstrom’s Customer Service on more than one occasion already on specifically beauty orders… I don’t want to do it again.

Emma M Avatar

Thanks Christine! I just looked at it again and realized they’re not even allowing it to be put in a shopping bag. Hopefully I get mine… Still says “Expected Shipping Date July 29th”

Ginny Avatar

I ordered it from Zappos, thank you! Now I kind of wish I hadn’t gotten the Naked Basics last week, as these warm shadows are more up my alley. Can’t believe it’s only $15!

Sylirael Avatar

The #2 colour is super sparkly and pretty! 😀

I know LORAC shadows are said to be awesome, and this palette looks like it did really well (even f it’s a bit too warm for me on average) and is an awesome deal…but it’s not like there aren’t one million other neutral palettes at all sorts of price points out there! 😉

Mind you, that could be the bias of someone who doesn’t look very good in orange shadows and lives in a land where LORAC doesn’t exist… 😛

rebecca Avatar

Wow this palette looks so nice and is hella cheap! It might be perfect for traveling/purse touch ups because of the color range and it’s so cheap if it shatters it wouldn’t be too bad of a hit!

rotem Avatar

I’m so happy I bought both pallets the second Nordstrom opened their sale for the public
I really wanted lorac pro 2 but my mother thought 42 $ is too steep for a gift .
How this compare to too faced chocolate pallet ?

Jenny Avatar

Hi Christine,

I have the Lorac Pro Palette and was wondering if you felt like there were any dupes between the two or if you felt that the Nude Palette is worth getting as well. Thanks.

nueyork Avatar

Although the colours are quite typical and not overly exciting, for the price and quality it’s a steal! I think it would make for an amazing travel palette if you don’t already have one with these essentials in it.

Helene Avatar

A really nice palette. I hope all who managed to order it will enjoy it. I find that sometimes I really like warm colours, though I usually go for cool ones. this is a palette I would have loved to have, I wonder if it’s on Amazon…

beka Avatar

i’m glad i went for this one instead of the blue. i’ve been trying not to buy much in the way of beauty products lately, but this was only $15. i couldn’t pass it up. even though the phoenix summer really makes me not want to wear much makeup, it just melts off. that and i keep getting a little sunburnt…the sun down here is ridiculous…i’ve spent a ton on sunscreen and can’t find one that really works, especially since i use differin gel and my skin is so sensitive to the sun…any suggestions?

Dee Avatar

So sad it is sold out at zappos too. Does anyone know if it will be available in stores/online again after the nordstrom anniversary sale is over and hopefully re-stocked? I hope nordstrom will have it again for $15 again after the sale.

Mary Avatar

I heard that these will be sold on Lorac’s website and on Amazon soon! Can’t wait – totally going to get all of them once they go to lorac’s site to get their free shipping!

Rachel R. Avatar

This is well worth the $15, although a little powdery in formula (not as powdery as the Navy palette though). I like that the colors are a little darker and warmer than my UD Naked Basics palette, so I didn’t feel like I was duplicating it. I think it’s worth what I paid for it, though from LORAC I was expecting a better texture.
