Sand (111)

Giorgio Armani Sand (111) Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a very light orange with warmer, yellower undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had medium color payoff that could be built up to semi-opaque coverage, but I had some difficulty achieving really even coverage due to the texture seeming to have more slip than most Lip Maestros. This shade lasted decently for four and a half hours and was hydrating, but it was one of the shorter-wearing shades I’ve tried in this line.

Formula Overview

$38.00/0.22 oz. - $172.73 Per Ounce

The consistency has more slip and a velvety-smooth feel that softly “clings” to the lips, so while the finish has a glossier look for the first few hours, the color stays on well. If you’ve ever used a silicone-based primer, there’s a bit of that feel to the formula overall. Most shades last between six and eight hours on me, are non-drying to lightly hydrating, and comfortable to wear. The formula is unscented and has no discernible taste.

The Lip Maestro Notorious formula is supposed to have a “luminous matte” finish with “8 hours of wear” and “high pigment.” The Notorious shades are inspired by “chic Hollywood glamour” but otherwise appear very similar in feel to the original Lip Maestro formula.

Seashore (112)

Giorgio Armani Seashore (112) Lip Maestro ($38.00 for 0.22 oz.) is a deep brown with warm, reddish undertones and barely-there pearl throughout a glossy cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that did not build up from there. The consistency was lightweight, spreadable, and fluid, which made it easy to maneuver the applicator across my lips, but this shade was more prone to settling into my lip lines. It stayed on nicely for five hours and felt moisturizing while worn.

Even though I really love Seashore, it’s not a shade that I need, or so I don’t think as I have MAC Paramount and DGAF. And those are both beautiful 90’s brown hued lipstick colors.

Sand would look absolutely hideous on me! They should have named it: “how to make your teeth look yellow”! And yet, I realize that some can pull that type of shade off, those with very white teeth or dental implants? 🤷🏻‍♀️
