Estee Lauder Bold Innocent, Sheer Sin, Pretty Shocking Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipsticks Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Bold Innocent (210)
Estee Lauder Bold Innocent (210) Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and fine, gold pearl. The finish had a noticeable pearl and light sheen to it, but it wasn’t too emollient or slippery on the lips as it had a very light tackiness to it overall. The texture was on the thinner side but not clingy, and it was comfortable to wear, though I noticed some color slipped into lip lines over time. It had semi-opaque color coverage, which a bit more than medium described. This shade wore well for four and a half hours and was moisturizing.

Formula Overview
$32.00/0.12 oz. - $266.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have medium coverage with a lustrous finish. It took the Pure Color Envy formula and added shimmer to it with the end result varying from lightly pearlized to more frosted and near-metallic. The shimmer was finer in size, so the lipsticks did not feel gritty on the lips, and the particles didn’t migrate as the lipstick wore down.
The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to nearly opaque, so it really depended on the shade on how true it was to medium coverage. The formula felt lightly creamy, thinner but not clingy, and with just enough slip to be comfortable to apply and to wear without feeling slippery during wear. The shades lasted from four to six hours and usually hydrating while worn.
The formula had a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Sheer Sin (220)
Estee Lauder Sheer Sin (220) Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a brighter, medium pink with subtle, warmer undertones and white and pink pearl. The shimmer seemed just a bit larger compared to some of the other shades in the range, but it never felt gritty on the lips. The texture was thin without being clingy, lightly creamy, and comfortable to wear. The color yielded medium coverage with fairly even dispersion of the pigment, but I did have a bit of color pull into lip lines. I was able to wear this shade for four hours, and it was hydrating over time.

Pretty Shocking (230)
Estee Lauder Pretty Shocking (230) Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia-red with subtle, cool undertones and fine violet and pink pearl. It had semi-opaque color payoff that applied evenly and smoothly. The consistency was lightly emollient with some slip, which caused a bit of color to gather in my lower lip lines. It was comfortable to wear over the six hours it lasted for, and it did leave behind a stain.

Formula Overview
Estee Lauder Hi-Lustre Pure Color Envy Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to have medium coverage with a lustrous finish. It takes the Pure Color Envy and adds shimmer to it with the end result varying from lightly pearlized to more frosted and near-metallic. The shimmer is finer, so the lipsticks do not feel gritty on the lips, and the particles don’t migrate as the lipstick wears down. I would describe the coverage as more semi-opaque overall, though a lighter hand could achieve more medium coverage and two layers would give you near-to opaque coverage. It is lightly creamy with some slip that is more noticeable as the formula warms up against the lips. The wear ranged from four to six hours and was typically hydrating. The formula features a vanilla scent but no discernible taste.
All very pretty!
Agreed!
I definitely like Sheer Sin and Pretty Shocking. There’s something nice about their being a bit translucent and also quite luminous, too. Sometimes, that’s all I want or need
The finish is lovely! I wish they didn’t get into lines at all, but I don’t notice it much at a normal distance, thankfully!
Pretty Shocking is a winner!
It’s a bold one!
These are all pretty. However, I have 62 year old lips with lots of nooks and crannies and lip lines above and below so probably not going to work for me, LOL.
I like all of these shades as well… Still have yet to get one from the formula though. 🙁
Maybe one day 🙂
I find that this new format involves a lot more clicking. I used to be able to simply scroll down to see each photo, but now I have to individually click on the photos of the arm swatch and lip application for each shade. I hope this makes sense!
Hi Rachel,
There’s text at the top of the slideshow that says “view all” (I’m not settled on the wording yet), where it will display them like before. One of the biggest, most frequent, pieces of feedback we had from readers was that there was too much scrolling on the site, which is why we changed to slideshows. It was certainly not to make it more work for you – it was designed to save readers time and make their time on the site more efficient.
I see it now! Thank you!
All three are pretty. I want Pretty Shocking 🙂
