Dior Ultra Trouble, Ultra Spice, Ultra Fire Ultra Rouge Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Ultra Trouble (436)
Dior Ultra Trouble (436) Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a medium copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a cream finish. The pigmentation was fantastic with rich, color coverage delivered in a single, fluid stroke. It had a lightly creamy consistency that felt more like a lightweight balm going on my lips as there was no tugging or dragging, but there was still richness in hue. It felt a touch “clingy” after a minute of wear, as the formula’s texture seemed to shift ever-so-slightly as it “set” in place. While that had initially given me home that it’d make it to 12-hour wear (as promised), it only lasted for five and a half hours, though it was nicely hydrating.

Formula Overview
$37.00/0.11 oz. - $336.36 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to be "incredibly long-wearing" with "12 hour" wear paired with an "ultra-comfortable" feel and "high-pigmentation." First and foremost, no, it doesn't last 12 hours, and most shades don't come close--they last between four and six hours typically. There were a few, like deeper reds, that still had some product remaining after eight hours, but the lighter shades never made it through the meal. They have a very creamy consistency, balm-like, and within 30 to 45 seconds, they develop a slight cling, almost like a film, but it wasn't actually clingy or uncomfortable--I could just tell that there was a texture change as it "set." However, the "setting" of this formula just has that feeling, but the product would still transfer onto a glass or disappear during a meal.
Most of the shades were semi-opaque to opaque and applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging or dragging. Some shades were more smoothing than others, but most shades looked flattering over my natural lip texture. The formula was lightweight, comfortable, and lightly to moderately hydrating over time. They had a heavy, powdery, floral scent that was noticeable for the first half hour of wear, though I didn't notice any taste.

Ultra Spice (641)
Dior Ultra Spice (641) Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a medium-dark, coppery-red with warm undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff was very nearly opaque in a single layer, while the lipstick had a smooth, creamy consistency that didn’t feel overly slippery or emollient, so it adhered evenly and stayed put. The texture was lightweight and comfortable as the lipstick never dragged or tugged on my lips when applied directly from the tube. It wore well for five and a half hours and kept my lips hydrated while worn.

Dior Ultra Fire (651) Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge Lipstick ($37.00 for 0.11 oz.) is a deep, coral-red with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied somewhat evenly but had a tendency to get into my lip lines and emphasized my natural lip texture. The texture was thin, balmy, and glided easily across my lips without tugging. It lasted for five hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

In love with ultra spice. Goodness. I don’t have a single dupe either!
Ultra Spice and Trouble have caught my eye! First of all, I have nothing like either one of these. Secondly, either one would be a warm, cozy autumnal shade. Hope to try both on later on in the autumn!
Yikes. Have we yet to see an A in this collection? A poor showing for an old warhorse like Dior, I think. Disappointing.
You’re not going to – it’s because they made a claim of 12-hour wear. They’re good lipsticks… they just don’t wear anywhere near 12 hours, so I wouldn’t really say it’s a poor showing as far as what most people look for in a traditional lipstick, IMO!
Thanks for the clarification, Christine. 🙂
No problem, Susan! 🙂 More like disappointing Dior went with a 12-hour claim… lol.
I just love Ultra Spice!
Loved the days when Dior had lipstick with the lipstick name in French. So chic and Paris. Now, just another lipstick..
