Dior Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss
Dior Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss ($30.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) was recently reformulated and released in several shades, some familiar from past formulations (Dior seems to update their lip ranges every couple of years). The formula is supposed to be sheer, hydrating, glossy, and plumping using “hyaluronic acid spheres that capture and retain surrounding water … [so lips] appear full with lasting moisture.” I can’t really tell the difference between this formula and past ones in the range; it’s a semi-sheer to semi-opaque formula (from what shades I bought) with a very smooth, lightweight texture that is comfortable to wear, lightly hydrating, and shiny. The non-sticky texture and smooth, gel-like feel are the two highlights of the formula, as they’re just easy to wear and throw on. The formula wore between three and four hours for me. I didn’t notice any scent or taste. They come in three types–sparkling, watery, and iridescent–with varying levels of shimmer and color.
Dior Diorama (785) Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss ($30.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a soft, medium rosy pink with warm undertones and white sparkle. It has an “iridescent” finish. The consistency had a milkier quality to it, which yielded more opaque coverage with a little bit of color settling into lip lines, but I did not find it overly noticeable from a normal viewing distance (only close-up). The texture was smooth, lightweight, and hydrating over time. The color lasted for three hours. Chanel Noce Moscata (P, $30.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). Pat McGrath Sunset Rose (P, $30.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Bite Beauty Pink Pearl (DC, $22.00) is more shimmery, cooler (90% similar). NARS Baby Doll (P, $26.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Lancome Magnetic Mauve (04) (P, $22.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). MAC Sweet Tooth (LE, $20.00) is less shimmery, cooler (90% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk (LE, $32.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Pink Sorbet (P, $24.00) is cooler (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Dior Ever Dior (643) Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss ($30.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a muted, medium-dark reddish-coral with warm, gold micro-glitter. It had semi-sheer color payoff, which applied evenly and smoothly over the lips, giving them a natural tint/appearance. Despite it seeming more coral in the tube and swatched, the pink tones of my natural lip color made it so the gloss looked like a pink-coral overall–obviously the sheerness of the formulation will make these glosses appear differently from person to person as a result. It has a “sparkling” finish. The gloss lasted for four hours and was comfortable and hydrating while worn. Dior Pink Excess (663) (LE, $29.50) is lighter, brighter (95% similar). Guerlain Frizzy Mango (LE, $32.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Maybelline Pearlescent Peach (520) (P, $8.99) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). Revlon Papaya (DC, $7.49) is less shimmery, darker (90% similar). Make Up For Ever 205P Pearly Rose (P, $19.00) is brighter, warmer (90% similar). YSL Chase Me Nude (P, $32.00) is darker (90% similar). Becca Watermelon/Opal (P, $24.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Guerlain Nahema Smack (P, $30.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). ColourPop Champagne Mami (DC, $10.00) is less pigmented (85% similar). Natasha Denona Duo Chrome Coral (P, $26.00) is more shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). Fenty Beauty Cheeky (LE, $21.00) is less shimmery, darker, cooler (85% similar). Chanel Sahara (610) (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (85% similar). MAC Bright Pink Bouquet (LE, $28.00) is more shimmery, darker, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop Blowzy (LE, $10.00) is less shimmery, lighter, less pigmented (80% similar). Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk (LE, $32.00) is lighter, less pigmented (80% similar). Dior Paradise (732) (P, $29.50) is darker, warmer (80% similar). Revlon Kiss Me Coral (DC, $7.99) is warmer (80% similar). ColourPop Paper Moon (LE, $10.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
Dior Cosmic (656) Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss ($30.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a brighter, medium pinky-coral with warm undertones and fine, pink pearl. lines along my bottom lip. It has an “iridescent” finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff–one of the most pigmented shades I bought–with less obvious, finer shimmer than the other shades. It applied fairly evenly, though some of the color seemed to accentuate lip. This shade wore for four hours and was moisturizing while worn. Burberry Cameo Pink (P, $29.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). MAC Lychee Luxe (P, $21.00) is cooler (90% similar). Cle de Peau Deco (16) (P, $48.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Ooh!Thanks for the heads up on these! I love the original Dior addict gloss which is kinda clear and a great topper.
Coverage really seems to vary, which seems to be how Dior does their gloss range, though they definitely run sheerer!
I feel the colors are too mainstream & easily dupable 🙂
Gotcha!
$30 is pricey for a gloss, but they sure are pretty!
Totally understand!
That semi-duochrome effect in Cosmic makes it look so cool and lip-plumping! I would certainly wear that one and actually use up the entire tube over time. Yep, it’s THAT pretty!
It is a very pretty shade! I like that it can be layered, too.
I loved their previous range and this seems to be very similar. I love the Look of Ever Dior and Cosmic, but I already have Paradise so I’ll likely skip that last one.
I really love shimmery lip gloss! That’s the only kind of lip gloss I’ll wear. For any other look I go for lipstick. I’m not normally a gloss girl.
I don’t think that I, personally, am able to feel the difference between the two applied, though it has been a decent length of time since I’ve worn the prior formula.
I really like those, Cosmic is my favourite out of these!
That is the most “different” of the three, too!
I am in love with new formula – I find them to be a little less sticky which is always a bonus! Plus love the luxe packaging!
That’s great news!
I’m not buying these, but Cosmic is really pretty.
It is!
I like me some lipgloss with sparkle and iridescence. The cosmic shade is so pretty, but I’m not a big fan of corals. I hope one of the other colour choices has has iridescence. I noted the Diorama shade does, but to me it’s not quite as pronounced.
I’d be curious if you find any others similar to Cosmic in other hues, because that’s the opacity/finish I gravitated towards the most.
Wow, Cosmic is very pretty!
Agreed!
What blush are you wearing in these photos? Love your entire makeup look – really fresh and radiant!
I am not sure about the blush, sorry Renee!
You can get similar looks with drug store lip glosses. These are pretty but not $30 worth.
Pretty, especially Ever Dior.
Oh how I swoon at Dior glosses!
I like all three and the formula sounds good. I’m drawn most to Cosmic!
