ColourPop Starling & Tattle Tail Ultra Blotted Liquid Lipsticks Reviews & Swatches
Starling
ColourPop Starling Ultra Blotted Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy brown with warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer, which applied fairly evenly with just a touch of product that sank into my deeper lip lines as it dried down.
The product dried down quickly applied to my lips but took longer on my arm, and I’ve often had issues with this formula highlighting lip texture and lines after drying, but this shade was a lot more flattering. It wore well for four and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$6.00/0.1 oz. - $60.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "medium coverage" and yield a "soft, diffused just-blotted look" that "dries matte, doesn't bodge, and feels soft and comfy on the lips." From the shades I've tried, the effect is exactly as described -- "a soft, diffused just-blotted look" with a matte finish. The consistency is thin but almost a little velvety as it spreads and dries down; it didn't feel as "wet" as most of their Liquid Lipstick formulas have. The formula dries down quickly and sets to a matte, transfer-resistant finish. The coverage varied from medium to semi-opaque, and the wear time was anywhere between four and six hours. The issue I have with them is the thinner, matte formula is more prone to emphasizing imperfections on my lips and lip lines. The formula is neither drying nor hydrating on me.

Tattle Tail
ColourPop Tattle Tail Ultra Blotted Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a light-medium, pink-coral with warm undertones and a flat, matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that applied somewhat evenly, but it was particularly prone to emphasizing lip texture, imperfections, and sank into some lip lines after it had dried down. The consistency was very thin, almost watery, initially and was quick to dry down on my lips. The color stayed on well for four hours and was lightly drying over time.

Starling IS pretty on! Kinda surprised as these usually look dry as the Sahara. Since I’m definitely moving more into tube lipsticks much more exclusively, I’ll be passing on these, though. About the only liquid lipsticks I still love are GA’s, Bite’s or Ofra’s.
Ofras don’t get enough hype. Their LLs actually are comfortable. The influencer culture has largely overlooked these gems. Was it 14 billion that was expected to be spent on influencer marketing in 2020? This includes ‘kidfluencers’ who are probably vidding about Sugar Rush and Florence by Mills. If you only have a twitter, an IG, IG stories, and FB, you are hopelessly out of the loop. I recall a manny collab, a Nikki Tutorials collab, and a Kathleen lights collab, but i don’t follow SM. Ofra’s LLs and HLs are as good as any on the market. (And Ulta prices can be lower than O.com.)
