ColourPop Set on Sapphire Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Set on Sapphire
ColourPop Set on Sapphire Pressed Powder Shadow Quad ($9.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new, sapphire-inspired color story that included two shimmers and two matte shades housed in a clear, plastic compact. The shades were more unique than not, which is always enjoyable to see! All four shades performed well, though the shimmers had extra slip to them, so they may work better for those with drier lids naturally or over an eyeshadow primer for better grip and stay.

Too Precious
Too Precious is a pale, purplish-blue base color with contrasting, blue-aqua to green-aqua shifting pearl. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out well. The texture was smooth to the touch but slightly more loosely-pressed, but it had enough slip to apply without fallout. It lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview
$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce
The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

So Pure
So Pure has a blackened navy base with a lighter mix of medium-dark blue and cooler, purplish-blue shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It had rich color coverage paired with a smooth, moderately emollient texture that had noticeable slip, so it applied best by pressing into place, and then blending the edges as needed. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Laser Focus
Laser Focus is a faded, cornflower blue with strong, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, lightly powdery texture that was substantial enough to blend without sheering out too readily. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Wise One
Wise One is a faded, navy blue with strong, cool undertones (almost leaning purple) and a matte finish. It had full color payoff in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well along the edges without losings its intensity. The texture was smooth, velvety, and slightly powdery in the pan but not prone to fallout. It lasted nicely for eight hours before showing signs of fading.

This is quite different from CP and the colour story works well. So Pure is a gorgeous navy shade.
I have this on my ColourPop shopping cart glad it performed well. Pretty cool that the two shimmers are duo-chrome shades. Will pick this up!
By now we all know how I feel about wearing blue, especiallly very cool blue eye looks. But, this one is so interesting and unique in its tones that I do think it may work for me. If not, I will thoroughly sanitize it and gift it to someone who would enjoy this gem!
Beautiful and well performed (quite rare for blue eyeshadows) palette!
This is such a pretty quad!
It feels strange to admit liking a blue eyeshadow palette, but this one I do like a lot. If it hadn’t been for one of the shades, Laser Focus, I would have bought this quad. Laser Focus is a kind of blue that makes me look very ill.
And there’s also the no to low buy. Hmm darn it! 😀
I am drawn to this cute little blue themed eyeshadow quad. I like that three of the shades have some purple in them and that it’s a very cool leaning palette. The pretty shimmers are multi dimensional , and I love the rich, saturated, deep, dark navy kissed with purple matte. I’m pleasantly surprised the two mattes perform so well! I can see doing several different looks with this palette too.
Very pretty – always love a good duochrome. But I don’t think this is a “need to buy” for me. Maybe next sale, if the other singles I’ve been eyeing are also available (PLEASE, Colourpop, I don’t want more palettes. Just singles!)
