ColourPop Bye Bye Birdie Collection Swatches

ColourPop Bye Bye Birdie Collection Swatches

It’s not really a week gone by without another collection by ColourPop, right? The newest collection is the Bye Bye Birdie collection, which features a new eyeshadow palette, four Jelly Much Shadows, two new Blush Stix shades, two new Lite Stix shades, one lipgloss, and three Ultra Blotted liquid lipsticks, which are swatched in this post. There are also nail decals, false lashes, and such that will also be available. (Apparently, there is also another Lip Duo, which I have to see if I missed or just didn’t receive!)

This collection, plus “fall favorites,” are on sale for 20% off through this weekend (shop eligible products here).

I love ColourPop. I really do. But, this is just getting to be too much. I was so excited about the Smoke Show palette, but with each weekly release, I somehow get less and less excited for even the palettes I want. I’m not sure why that is, but it’s how I feel. And, more non-eye-safe pressed glitters? Sigh.

Honestly, this palette seems terribly random and unnecessary. I’m certain I would not feel that way if CP had not just released like 20 other palettes in the last few months. But at this point, it feels like they’re putting out palettes just to keep up with the trend of weekly releases.

I don’t ride that blotted lip, either. They don’t feel good. They ball up and separate. The finish is zero like advertised. Gave them away, though I liked the colors. That’s one of the good things about CP, if it doesn’t work out, give it away, and you’re not out a pile. I think Gander looks like pressed glitter at first, but is not. I could have napped through this collection. And I’ll bet no readers are old enough to get the Bye, Bye Birdie reference, unless they’re in musical theatre.

Ha…I remember Bye Bye Birdie! The only thing I really like about this collection are the names. Heron Chic made me laugh! As a EAP fan, I also love the name Never More, but wish they had written it (properly) as one word.

I thought this was called the Bye Bye Birdie collection? I haven’t gotten CP in a while and I really like pinks, rose, and berries so I’m (im)patiently waiting for these to go live. Definitely getting the eye palette, Aviary blush stick, and Well Nested gloss. I may end up getting the Can’t Be Tamed set which has the gloss and a blotted lip… I’ve heard the formula changed and I’m feeling adventerous. I know everyone is on an anti eye glitter train so this might get some hate, but I haven’t tried the glitters and I think they look fun to play with.

Lauren, these pressed glitter eyeshadows are made from PET, a plastic that has the potential for severe eye injury or even blindness if used on the immediate eye area. Please don’t apply them to your lids if you do still decide to buy it. Take it from someone who suffered a scratch to her own cornea from a piece of glitter, you don’t want to go through this!

I like the pressed glitters! In my experience they generally stick really well to the eyelid without needing any glitter glue, as long as you don’t glom a giant pile of glitter onto one spot (which I have accidentally done once or twice). I thought it was pretty clever that CP figured out how to put glitter in a palette, especially since it doesn’t seem to need much help to stick to skin.

Hate the pressed glitters and wish companies would stop putting them in palettes. Another palette of pretty much the same shades. I wonder why they keep producing palettes that have a gazillion similar shades, not just to one palette but across all the palettes. Oh well, at their price point they are assured of a lot of purchases. The shades on pretty but I have a lot of them so easy pass for me. I still haven’t picked up any of the Gelly Much Shadows so may place another order soon. See how they suck me in, LOL!!

I love it! The packaging is really pretty, too. In a Twitter is the set I’d buy if I actually needed more blush and highlight lol.

I don’t mind the constant releases and can’t imagine how more options could be a bad thing! It just makes it more likely that someone will find a product that really speaks to them and they genuinely love.

Gander looks like a glitter but I’m guessing it’s just a bad shadow? Aerial also looks very sheer. I reeeally like three of the eyeshadows (on a wing, heron chic and finch) but I won’t buy a palette with glitter.

I’d like CP to just switch to biodegradable glitter. So, those who choose to risk their eyes can and I can feel better about disposing of them. CP palettes are magnetic so I would just swap out the glitter shades.

I don’t see myself using the blush sticks- I own about eight blushes and double that in highlighters, I’m good for life, lol. I own one blotted lip by CP and I agree with others, I just don’t like the texture. Do I really need more glosses? Nope. I don’t like my hair in my mouth.

The last thing I need is more pinks, since I just made a BYOP that is essentially all pinks, but I am giggling at these names because I love puns. Off to the punitentiary with me.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the “new” Jelly Much shadow colors are never actually different? Maybe the pink shade with On the Fly. But where are the deep dark colors they could be putting out, like black or sapphire?! I’d love that.

Is it just me or does this palette look super similar to the Colourpop Truly, Madly, Deeply palette? In fact, I would love to know if there are shade dupes between the two. Thanks!
