Clinique Eyelet, Gauzy, Romanced Even Better Lip Colour Foundation Reviews & Swatches
Eyelet (01)
Clinique Eyelet (01) Even Better Pop Lip Colour Foundation ($19.50 for 0.13 oz.) is a medium peach with strong, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had medium color coverage that applied fairly evenly, but there was some product that separated along my lip lines.
The texture felt lightweight, thin, and velvety, rather than traditionally creamy. It stayed on decently for three and a half hours and felt hydrating over time.

Formula Overview
$19.50/0.13 oz. - $150.00 Per Ounce
The formula features three finishes: "Naked," "Casual," and "Glam." Where these finishes get confusing is that the classification moves as skin tone changes, despite the brand describing "Naked" shades as "softest neutral for a barely-there look" and "Casual" as "a wash of neutral color," which kind of sound more or less the same-- wash, barely-there, etc. "Glam" is described as a "bold pop of color," yet there are shades classified as "Glam" for lighter skin tones that are "Casual" for deeper skin tones.
The formula is supposed to be hydrating with color that lasts up to "eight hours," which are the most concrete claims about the product! The original Pop lipstick formula is described as "rich color plus a smoothing primer." Since the Even Better range is all about matching to one's skin tone--which is why one shade is closer to "Naked" for one skin tone and closer to "Glam" for another--I'm using the original Pop formula as the baseline for the claims here. This means I'm looking for "rich color" along with a hydrating formula that lasts "up to eight hours."
The majority of the range had semi-opaque to opaque coverage with a few shades having more medium, buildable coverage. I noticed that there were some shades that were more of a velvety-matte--felt more primer-like, more silicone-heavy--with good glide but less sheen (more in line with the Pop Matte formula), and others were more true to the original Pop formula with a creamier consistency that had some shine.
As you might have already guessed, the formula does not last eight hours and lasted between four and five hours for most shades with a few deviating from that range. There's nothing in the formula that suggests it would be particularly long-wearing, so they were quite comfortable to apply and to wear, wore down evenly, and were hydrating to wear.
They had no discernible scent or taste.

Gauzy (02)
Clinique Gauzy (02) Even Better Pop Lip Colour Foundation ($19.50 for 0.13 oz.) is a light-medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had semi-opaque color payoff in a single layer, which didn’t build up well, and applied somewhat unevenly with subtle streaking along the edges and a bit of product that accumulated in my deeper lip lines (not quite so noticeable in person, though).
The lipstick had a more velvety, smooth consistency that felt lightweight and glided on easily. It wore well for three and a half hours and felt lightly moisturizing while worn.

Romanced (03)
Clinique Romanced (03) Even Better Pop Lip Colour Foundation ($19.50 for 0.13 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with strong, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It had good pigmentation in one pass, which adhered evenly and smoothly across my lips with only a touch of product that settled into my deeper lip lines. I didn’t see the settling in person, thankfully.
The consistency felt lightweight, thin without being clingy, and had a more velvety feel rather than traditionally creamy (or “wet”). this shade lasted well for four hours and felt hydrating over time.

This is just sad. Such pretty MLBB shades, but so poorly done. Well, at least I’m not tempted.
Romanced isn’t terrible, but really, none of them are blowing up my skirt or anything. They look cheap for some reason. Like Nyx’s old Round Lipsticks. Not impressed.
I don’t see anything criminally wrong with Eyelet, as I’m always on a lookout for something with less coverage. I wish there were more light to medium coverage lipsticks out there, but somehow people prefer full coverage lip products. I’d rather reapply..
I bought Romanced and I quite like it. It was the suggested everyday shade for my skin tone (using their online tool), and I find it is a great bare face lip. I agree it isn’t super long lasting, but I personally really enjoy the balmy, hydrating formula. I wear it more as a lip balm really. I also got Subtle and Entwined. Subtle is like a warmer version of Romanced, and I also quite like it. Entwined on the other hand is more difficult to work with, as it isn’t super opaque on me. Overall, I’d recommend the shades that are close to your natural lip colour, your suggested everyday shades basically.
I cannot believe that these are so, so average – it’s like a poor DS quality..
