Patrick Ta Major Beauty Headlines Collection Swatches
Patrick Ta just released a new collection, which includes four Cream & Powder Blush Duos ($34.00 each) and four Matte Suede Lipsticks ($32.00 each). There are also four Lip Crayons ($26.00 each) that pair with the lipsticks, which I didn’t purchase. While I was swatching through the new products, I figured it was a good time to swatch the brand’s original Silky Lip Cremes ($24.00 each) and Major Glow Lip Shines ($22.00 each).
Don’t know how these will rate, but I bought one of the bush duos and I LOVE it…. and I got two of the new lipsticks in She’s Not From Here and She Must Be New, and I really like them too… the formula on the lipsticks is really nice, to me it feels somewhere between a PML and a Lisa Eldridge, they are nice and creamy but still have a little bit of that silicone-y feel that the Lisa Eldridge lipsticks have, so they are nice and lightweight. I would like to see more lipsticks in this formula.
I have a hard time matching blushes to lipsticks so I’m loving the monochrome looks!
Here’s my thoughts: looks great! BUT, big but here (LOL!) I’ve seen so many of these duo cheek palettes (highlight and powder) and so they are alllllllllll looking the same. I mean perhaps it’s just because I’m a eyeshadow person, but how many duo cheek compacts can one need or want? I will say though, of all those I’ve seen this past year, his look the most darker skin-toned friendly. Rich, deep colors! And his lipsticks seem spot on to go with the cheeks, so since I have VERY few of these duo compacts and often have a time matching lipstick, his may be the one(s) I’ll pick up depending on your rating.
Is it just me, or do the three bottom gloss swatches all look exactly the same?
I haven’t tried any of these yet but Do We Know Her looks really pretty.
The lip products look plush and have some gorgeous shades within their range. I particularly love the looks of all the Suede Mattes and Monochrome Moment Silky Lip Creams.
However, I am rather confused as to why the cheek duos have basically the same exact shade in both a cream format as well as a powder? Like, why would I need or want both? I would have liked to have seen a greater variation going on personally.
Perhaps it’s the idea of setting your cream blush with powder blush to get the cheek color to last longer?
I just got She’s So LA in the mail and god, it’s fantastic and so luxurious. WOW. I’m truly so happy to have it, and wish there were more colors. A different blush formula than his first launches, but better in my opinion. I wish there was a cool pink to scratch my cool toned itch.
I’m waiting for She’s So LA to arrive, hopefully today!
I was quite hesitant about that shade duo for me, but I’ve seen it reviewed a couple times on YouTube and I thought I would use it this summer!
I’m going with a lot of monochromatic bronze-y looks these days and figured that duo would fit right in. I like that you can use it on eyes too!
If I love the formula, I’ll likely order another and I’ve heard good things about the lipstick formula, but really, I DO NOT need another lippie right now.
Everything is a lot lighter in your swatches that they looked in the promo pictures. I’m still potentially interested in Oh She’s Single, but I’m concerned that it might be a bit too light for my pigmented lips. Do We Know Her is still a possibility, but now I’m considering She’s So LA, which I previously thought would be too dark on my very light skin.
I’m not as keen on the blush swatches as none of them are quite the right shades for me – but darn, those lipsticks! Especially She’s Not From Here (where does the brand get these names from?). My favourite kind of shade.
This packaging is gorgeous! It’s taking every bit of strength not to order something. Can’t wait for the reviews.
