Dragon Red
Cle de Peau Dragon Red Lipstick ($65.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a rich, medium red with neutral undertones and a smooth sheen. The consistency was lightweight, thin without being clingy, and comfortable to apply as it did not drag. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which applied evenly across the lips. The finish on this shade made my lips appear plumper and smoother without calling attention to my lip lines. It wore well for five hours and was hydrating to wear.
The formula is supposed to have “ultra-vibrant, luminous HD color and rich lasting moisture” that has a “silk, semi-matte finish lasting for 8 hours.” Under “Key Benefits,” they repeat that it has a “long-lasting finish for up to 8 hours” and “delivers lasting moisture for up to 4 hours” (I swear, that seems like it’s switched–it would really make more sense for it to last for four hours but keep lips hydrated for longer than the color itself lasted). The consistency was lightweight, creamy with a more emollient feel as it applied that had a lightly tacky feel afterward. Color coverage varied from medium and buildable to mostly opaque with light to moderate shine. Some shades applied more smoothly across the lips and made my lips appear smoother and plumper but not all shades did so. The wear was four to six ours with some of the deeper, richer shades (like reds) wearing longer. I found the formula very hydrating and comfortable to wear. I did not notice any taste but they had a subtle, rosy scent.

Red Lantern
Cle de Peau Red Lantern Lipstick ($65.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark red with warm, orange undertones and a glossy sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which applied evenly on the lips, so it almost looked like a lip stain with the opacity level. The lipstick felt smooth, lightweight, and creamy without being too thick or too thin on the lips. I felt like the finish was very flattering to wear, as it made my lips appear smoother. It wore well for five hours and was nicely hydrating.

Silk Thread
Cle de Peau Silk Thread Lipstick ($65.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with subtle, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had good color coverage that applied evenly across the lips. The texture was lightweight, had moderate slip but did not feel slippery or wet on the lips, so it stayed in place better. On me, it lasted for just over four and a half hours but was hydrating.

All three of these are very pretty but, once again, the price just strikes me as obscene. I’ll settle quite happily for the less pricey and more “easy to get my hands on” dupes.
I hear ya, Mariella!
Love that pink! Dragon Red looks beautiful too. Will have to splurge on this at some point!
It’s a beautiful shade!
I love how Dragon Red looks so nice and smooth on the lips, the color is gorgeous too! Thankfully it’s permanent so I can buy it later, because this is such a great color and formula.
It does look beautiful on!
Dragon Red is quite awesome!
It is!
The finish on these is perfection! Just smooth like richly stained glass to the point of taking almost all texture out of ones lips, and giving them a plumper, cushiony appearance.
As for me, I’ve got dupes, or at least close enough dupes, for these 3 in MAC Sunny Seoul, Yoni Crush and Maria Moretti, I think? Though, Sunny Seoul lacks that beautiful finish.
The finish on some of the shades is lovely for sure!
I’m really liking the color, finish, Asian theme here, but not the price!
The price is up there!
I love Silk Thread! Looks so pretty on the lips!
It is a pretty hue!
Way too expensive for me, but I do love Dragon Red.
Dragon Red is utterly gorgeous. *sigh* On my budget, I’d better stick with my On Fire Red, though.
