Make Up For Ever 6 Frozen Turquoise Star Lit Powder Review, Photos, Swatches
6 Frozen Turquoise
Make Up For Ever 6 Frozen Turquoise Star Lit Powder ($21.00 for 0.02 oz.) is a cool, white base with icy lavender to teal shifting shimmer. It had a strong, nearly metallic sheen but did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture as the particle size was so fine. It worked beautifully as a cheek highlighter, as it reflected light well and maintained its shift, and it also worked well along the inner tearduct to brighten the eyes. The consistency was soft, velvety, and finely-milled, which made it easy to blend out. It had sheerer, buildable coverage applied dry and more opaque coverage when applied with a dampened brush. It wore well for eight hours on me.
The Star Lit Powders can be used to “highlight eyes, lips and cheeks” with an “ultra-fine loose powder” that can be used “wet or dry to customize coverage intensity and luminosity.” While checking the weight on these, I noticed that the weight differs from shade to shade; this one had a mere 0.02 oz. while others ranged from 0.03 oz. to 0.09 oz. I also noticed that it appears the brand identifies what area you can use a shade on by listing an icon on the back of the jar in the shape of a pair of lips, an eyeball, and then a face (presumably for cheeks).

Holy tin man! SO STRONK.
It is an intense one!
I get that a lot of people love these types of highlighters, but just for me personally, I don’t understand wanting to put blue, green, or other odd colors on my cheeks. I do like a little highlighter, but understated and natural. And the packaging on these highlighters seems odd and unattractive.
I guess I just don’t look at them as odd 🙂
I just looked at the packaging from a different angle on Google Images and it doesn’t look as weird when you see it from the side as it does looking straight down at it. lol
Although, I wonder if it would be easier to use with a plastic top that had a bunch of tiny holes, like loose powder containers? I haven’t seen this product in person yet.
I think as a cheek product, the smaller holes would probably be better. Not a huge fan of this type of packaging, though I think you still end up having to tap a bit into the lid vs. working directly from the opening!
This is so freakin’ gorgeous. Like; whoa, a lavender to teal shift? Yes, please! I do have KVD Alchemist, so I may just try a little experiment. Apply Amethyst first, then Saphyre over it to see whether that has a similar enough effect. If not, then this.
It’s a beauty!
As a cheek highlighter, it picks up the tear duct beautifully. Funny how you can agonize over Soul, F3, Beach Waves, etc. yet simply say, got Orion. Covered. For this one. Demi Glacé and family, hard pressed not to Pokémon them. All.
It is interesting what colors appeal to us more than others 🙂
Oy that’s gorgeous. On my phone .. all I see is the highlight .. but what a statement! Can dupe it with the ABH, but this one look more amazing on methinks.
It is such a lovely highlighter!
Wow! This would be gorgeous if you were looking for something dramatic!
Or you could apply with a lighter hand for a softer effect 🙂
I’d love to see a picture of the highlighter from another angle, (maybe in profile?) so I could see how the color looks like on the face! thanks for the best swatches
Unfortunately, I took about 50 shots per shade for these types and this was the best!
I was wondering how similar in texture these are to the MAC Reflects line of fine glitters.
Not similar at all – Reflects is much grittier and doesn’t have the same kind of binders as these. Imagine MAC Pink Opal pigment texture against Reflects – completely different!
I got so stinking excited when I saw turquoise in the name! I’m always looking for Teal makeup to wear to Sharks games. This one is going to hit my Sephora cart for sure!
Stunning!!! I love the more out there highlighters. They are just so much fun!!! I have both natural looking highlighters and more cosmic unicorn highlighlighters and I mostly reach for the holographic, fun colors!
