Charlotte Tilbury Super Blue Eyeshadow Quad Review & Swatches
Super Blue
Charlotte Tilbury Super Blue Eyeshadow Quad ($53.00 for 0.18 oz.) is a new, limited edition quad that features three shimmery shades and one matte shade. The formula was different–updated–from the initial quads released; it was more in line with the larger 12-pan palettes the brand has come out more recently (along with the newer quads). The matte was surprisingly nice to work with as it was pigmented but still blendable, while the shimmers were solid and workable (with one being fantastic).

LELimited Edition. $56.00.
Super Blue #1
Super Blue #1 is a light-medium, peachy gold with strong, warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It had opaque color coverage in a single layer with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that felt slightly more loosely-pressed in the pan compared to other shimmers in newer Charlotte Tilbury quads. This resulted in a bit of fallout if I wasn’t careful to avoid it. The color stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Super Blue #2
Super Blue #2 is a soft, golden bronze with warm undertones and a smooth, metallic sheen. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was dense without being thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. LELimited Edition.
Super Blue #3
Super Blue #3 is a medium-dark blue with moderate, cool undertones and a sparkling finish. The consistency felt slightly drier and more firmly-pressed into the pan than the other shimmers but was less emollient than the “sparkly” shade often has been in past quads. It had good color coverage applied dry but a dampened brush boosted pigmentation to full coverage and gave it a deeper, brighter appearance. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours with faint fallout over time.

Super Blue #4
Super Blue #4 is a deep, slightly muted, navy blue with strong, cool undertones and a matte finish. The texture was smooth and velvety, substantial without being too powdery or too dense, so it applied evenly to bare skin but was blendable along the edges without sheering out too readily. It had rich pigmentation that stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

This is the prettiest quad I’ve seen in awhile.
Concur!
She’s a stunner! I’m usually not much of a blue eyeshadow wearer, but this one is splendid. It could reel me in yet!
Do you think this quad brings out brown eyes, as suggested? I think it looks beautiful but I’m not sure whether or not it is worth the investment. Are there good dupes of the palette you could suggest?
Deep blues are usually very flattering with brown eyes.
I love the shade combination in this quad, although I would never use the matte blue. I think these shades work so well together and your eye look is lovely. A winner from CT.
Ordered this today along with a couple of her coral lip sticks.I love blue eye shadows. This will be my first Charlotte Tilbury eye shadow purchase can’t wait to play with it! Glad it scored well!
Hi Christine, thanks for your review and I’m thrilled to see this got great ratings! What do you think of the brand’s claims that these palettes enhance the colour of eyes though? Because that seem to be the key marketing point of these
I mean, I have hazel/brown eyes, so I can’t really speak for someone else’s eye color! They’re not using any new tech or special ingredients to “enhance” the eye color, just color theory 🙂 So for blue eyes, it’s typically said that orange/copper are “most flattering” (opposite the color wheel); greens are plum/purple (opposite the color wheel), hazel eyes can look greener with greener eyeshadows;, and brown… well, most I’ve read say anything, though you’ll sometimes see richer tones like blue and purple mentioned.
Then again, CT also says this: “Darling, once you know the rules, break them! You don’t have to be a hazel-eyed honey to create this gorgeous green gaze. Green Lights looks magical on EVERYONE!”
Not surprisingly, I love #2 but have a dupe or 2; I rarely, really rarely wear blue shadows but #3 is so luscious looking (and I have a UD dupe – one I rarely use because I really don’t wear blue shadows often but now that I’m off work for at least another 2 weeks, maybe I should start wearing it around the house!)
This is, more or less, the same as Melt’s Blueprint stack – which I absolutely adore and don’t use often enough!
Even though I won’t be picking this up, I’m enjoying the “riskier” color schemes coming out of luxury brands.
Hi! If you don’t mind, what are your thoughts on the shimmers in the Blueprint stack? I remember Melt’s stacks getting rave reviews back when they were new, but the shimmers in their newer palette have gotten more mixed reviews, including some people reporting the shimmer formula puffing up out of their pans after a while. I’ve had my eye on the Blueprint stack for a bit and I’m not sure if people have had similar experiences with the stacks.
Super Blue 3 is so stunning. Blues are always incredibly tempting to me, but I rarely reach for blue eyeshadow. I usually do a neutral eye and grab a blue pencil to smudge in instead.
Super Blue 4 is beautiful and I’d only want that color, so no-go for me!
