Charlotte Tilbury Super Blue Colour Magic Liner Duo Review & Swatches
Super Blue
Charlotte Tilbury Super Blue Colour Magic Liner Duo ($30.00 for 0.03 oz.) features a lighter, brighter metallic blue hue on one end and a deeper, matte navy blue on the other. The two definitely coordinated well and could be layered for a more shimmery, true navy blue. The matte shade was firmer and less glide-on compared to the metallic shade, which was definitely more comfortable to apply. They had similar wear times but the matte shade was more prone to migrating into the outer corners later on during wear–though both shades were longer-wearing.

Super Blue (Metallic)
Super Blue (Metallic) is a brighter, medium blue with strong, cool undertones and a pearly sheen. It was less metallic than it was lightly-shimmered. The texture was smooth with light slip but didn’t feel overly “wet” or creamy going on, so it didn’t budge nor was it amenable to being smudged out unless you worked very quickly to do so.
It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage that was best applied in shorter, overlapping strokes to get the best, more even coverage with the least effort. It wore well for 11 hours, though there was still visible color after 16 hours of wear; it was just significantly thinner and more faded (I’d say around 60% intact).

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to "stay-all day" (specifically listed as "up to 16 hours") that "glide" on and is "smudge-proof, waterproof & humidity proof." The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque, buildable coverage that was easy enough to achieve, and if one applied in shorter, overlapping strokes, they looked full coverage applied.
The texture of the mattes felt a bit firmer, and while I didn't have issues with the tip snapping off when I used it as an actual eyeliner (on my lower lash line), I did have two of four shades snap when I went to swatch them on my arm. The matte shades tended to last a little longer with solid 10 to 12 hour wear that had 50% or greater color visible at the 16-hour mark. There was minimal migration/movement around my outer corner after 12 to 14 hours.
The metallic shades had slightly more glide, so they were more smudgeable, but they didn't feel overly slippery and stayed in place well. I felt like they had a similar wear time of 10 to 12 hours of good wear with 50% or greater color still apparent after 16 hours of wear. There was less movement/migration to the outer corners over time with the metallics after 16 hours of wear compared to the matte shades.

Super Blue (Matte)
Super Blue (Matte) is a blackened, navy blue with cooler undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that was buildable to full coverage, and it seemed to get softer and more pliable (which yielded better coverage in a single layer) after I sharpened it once.
The tip broke off when I tried swatching it, but this wasn’t an issue I experienced when I worked with it on my lower lash line–that should give a sense that it did have a firmer texture. It didn’t quite tug, but it wasn’t the most glide-on formula I’ve tried. The color showed signs of slight migration to the outer corners and a bit of fading after 12 hours of wear, and it had decent visibility after 16 hours but had continued to wear away and had more noticeable build-up in the outer and inner corners.

WANT! I’m in love with that blackened blue matte for making the whites of my eyes appear brighter and the green more lit up!
I would be using the the lighter metallic blue over the matte navy on the inner half of my lower lashline, otherwise it could wash out my own eye color.
I really like coordinating duo pencils like this. It’s good to see the blues are pretty well done. I’m thinking of getting this one.
I like what I see! This is definitely going in my cart right now.
Both of these shades represent the best elements of navy blue. Love them.
These are definitely on my want list. I do love a good blue and they seem more rare than other colors.
