Chanel Rouge, Nude, Rose Clair Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Nude
Chanel Nude Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a soft, medium brown with warm, rosy undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that went on evenly, but some of the color slipped into my lip lines. The consistency was smooth, creamy, wet but not too slippery, and comfortable to wear, as it was quite hydrating. This shade lasted for three and a half hours on me.
The formula is supposed to have “rich colour in a single stroke” with a “satiny” finish. The lipstick pencil twists-up (no sharpening required), and the consistency is incredibly creamy, soft, and smooth. The coverage varied from mostly opaque to opaque, depending on the shade, and the wear time ranged between three to five hours with some shades (like the reds and fuchsias) leaving a stain behind. It was a very hydrating and comfortable formula to wear, but they’re so soft that I felt like it was easy to over-apply the product when there isn’t much product in each tube (0.04 oz. compared to a standard Chanel lipstick, which is 0.12 oz.). Twist-up pencils usually contain less product than a twist-up tube of lipstick, but I wish these had a little more (like 0.08 oz.) or else not quite as pricey. I didn’t notice any scent or taste.

Rose Clair
Chanel Rose Clair Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a soft, medum pink with warm undertones and a fine, pearly finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that was easy to apply and work with, but it did not build up to opaque coverage for me. The texture was creamy, soft (almost melted upon contact), and smooth on the lips. This shade wore nicely for four hours and was hydrating.

Rouge
Chanel Rouge Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a rich, medium red with neutral-to-cool undertones and a barely-there pearl. It had semi-opaque color coverage, which applied evenly and smoothly. The consistency was creamy, thin without being too thin or clingy, and easy to spread across the lips. The formula felt moisturizing over the five and a half hours this shade lasted for. It also left a subtle stain behind.

Christine all three look beautiful on you especially the last on Rouge. The formula looks really nice.
Aw, thanks a lot, Maria!
The red is beautiful, don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad red from Chanel
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a bad red lip color, LOL! Maybe once or twice…
What a great nude and what a great pink! (I’ll skip the red :-))
Two outta three ain’t bad!
Because I’m quite peeved that Chanel skimped on the amount of product in these, but really love Rose Clair and Nude, I’ll finally have to get MAC Lip Blossom with one of those free gifts of Patent Polish in a comparable nude shade!
Yeah, it’s strange, because a lot of similar products (in terms of packaging and type) are around 0.07/0.08 oz. and they didn’t LOOK smaller at all!
While all three of these seem to be fairly dupable, they are very pretty! Nude in particular really suits you, imo.
Thank you! 🙂
Shockingly, I really like Nude!! It looks so soft and pretty on you, Christine!
Aw, thanks Shannon! xo
I really like the Rose Clair! *whine* I just wish it was opaque although it looks almost opaque! Beautiful red but since I don’t wear red, that is an easy ‘no’. (I like the shimmer on both.)
It is almost opaque, lol!
LOL I am bound to try the Rose Clair!
Rose Clair and Rouge are are quite nice. I’ll really have to give this formula a test since it was so non-drying.
Those are nice picks, Erin!
Rouge is a really gorgeous shade of red.
It is!
I like the look of Nude for spring, but am on the fence since the new Hourglass lip stylos have so many neutral options I like and at a better cost. However, those are so hard for me to get my hands on, so we’ll see, maybe I’ll find Nude in store first.
They look beautiful on you! I have the Rose Clair- it does cover nicely and is super hydrating. I never mind reapplying lipstick every few hours as the long wearing ones are sooo drying.
I’d say go for it! I have the rose clair and absolutely love it. The texture is perhaps the best that’s come out this year. Together with Burberry’s liquid lipstick.
