Crystal Glare

NYX Crystal Glare Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter ($6.99 for 0.22 fl. oz.) is a light, golden beige with warm undertones and fine, pearly sheen. The shimmer read as a luminous glow than overt shimmer on the skin, even when layered. It had semi-sheer to opaque, buildable coverage (two to three layers for more opaque coverage, though!). The consistency was thin, water-like but dried down after I blended it onto the skin. This shade would be ideal for someone who wants subtle warmth and sheen without a metallic finish. While it could absolutely be mixed in with base products, like a primer or foundation, the wand makes it most practical for dabbing onto the face. The highlighter wore nicely for seven and a half hours on me.

The Away We Glow formula is a liquid highlighter that has buildable coverage “from soft to intense.” The brand recommends to “dab and blend” on skin for “irresistible illumination.” There are nine shades available, and the shimmer varied from shade to shade: fine pearl to chunkier sparkle. The formula has a watery, thin feel from the tube, and I liked getting a bit on the back of my hand and then dabbing with fingertips or a stippling brush onto the cheeks and high planes of the face for highlighting. It did dry down after a minute or so, and the wear ranged from seven to eight hours.

Nyx has been rocking it lately! I love the way it looks on you and in your swatches. I also like the fact that you say it’s buildable. It reminds me of the Chosungah 22 highlighters that I love (and are much more pricey!) Will be checking these out. Thanks for your review.

Well, NYX nailed this shade! It’s a close dupe for some of the most popular highlighters out there, including products that cost 2-6x more. A budget alternative to the Becca Spotlights

This consistency looks so unique. I have a liquid highlighter from O Boticário (which is a brazilian brand) that comes in a very similar package, but the consistency is thicker and when I blend it, it loses some of the color and brightness.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago to wear under my Becca Opal pressed highlight. It’s literally the best! I have very oily skin and it gives me a glow but I won’t have that wet/oily look. Best part? The fact that it lasts all day and that price tag!

I got two of these (suppose to be on a no-buy) because I was curious and the cost is just right for trying out a new product. I really loooooove them. I pretty much use them every day.

I want them all. But, I must resist and stay content with the two I have.
