The Joues Contraste formula is supposed to have “buildable coverage” with a “silky texture” that adds “radiance to the cheeks.” The texture was silky and finely-milled, but it was also a little dusty and prone to sheering out. The pigmentation started off semi-sheer and was buildable to semi-opaque coverage, so it is buildable, but if you want really dramatic coverage, you might find it lacking. When I applied it to bare cheeks, I found the formula fairly blendable, but it did require some extra maneuvering and blending to really even out the coverage. The color wore well for eight hours before fading.

The color is beautiful but at that price point the formula is a bit disappointing. I’m glad I waited for your review on this one before I purchase. I think I’ll be picking up the other Chanel blush you just reviewed. I hadn’t purchased any Marc Jacobs ones but I may pick up the dupe for this one during a sale.
Happy to help, Mindy! 🙂
Bit off topic, but I noticed you mentioned a little while back that Chanel Blush Creme formula was discontinued in the US. They’re still around in the UK, but only 3 shades.
I wonder why they did that, it was such a nice formula and it seemed popular in the beauty community.
Yep! They discontinued in the U.S. maybe a year ago? I feel like it’s been awhile. I wonder if they’ll eventually discontinue it in the UK as well. What’s odder is they didn’t replace it with something similar!
It would be nice if it could be built up to full opacity, but it is still a lovely color.
It is a pretty one! Reminds me a bit of springy collections.
How this applied on you is how CP Cruel Intentions applies to me: subtle and nondescript. Meh for the $$$’s. Great for just an everyday shade, but I would so much rather get that far more rich looking MJ Night Fever & Hot Stuff shade for a more kapow factor!
Yeah, it’s not quite high enough in quality for the price!
It’s a pretty color, but there so many cheaper and better rated dupes !
Very true 🙂
Really love this – I would purchase it but I find that constantly trying to build a blush is kind of annoying. I want a bit of shine/glow – just a bit. Has to be a pass for me *sigh*
Aww! Darn!
Quite a nice color, I wish it was slightly less matte.
I could see shimmer working with it!
Chanel blushes…some of my favorites…i have lot of shades and im happy to see this shade because i never heard about his launch. Just yesterday i was at Sephora and didnt see it on the counter,so maybe still not available in France but this 320 Rouge Profond what a beautiful color! i had the real red blush in the past and i remember i loved it even if i was young, and still not a makeup addict! lol
And for the Chanel cream blush its a little weird, because you cant have it on store but on Chanel website (France) you cant find old shades but they sell new shades of cream blush and its writing EXCLUSIVITY so they’re discountinued or not??or only available forever on Chanel website?? weird i told you…
And another thing its that the stick blush who are supposed to be limited edition for a long time(since 2015),they are still selling everywhere, but because its only 3 shades and never a new come i dont know if Chanel want to keep it and use this formula and this packaging for future?… Or its only blushes for “les beiges”collection so they are not considerate like cream blush for makeup collection?
If someone work for Chanel here,we’ll be happy to understand 😉
By the way, Christine i love to see you wear rainforest of the sea foundation, but with this anastasia of the day you look so so fresh! Like a fresh baby skin, beautiful and its look like the color really match with your skintone 😉
Just illusion – Anastasia Stick Foundation looks horrible on my skin!
loooool really??? so Christine i need to say that you are “horriby beautiful” with this foundation 🙂 so funny that illusion!!!
I wonder if you do not prefer something a little dewier on me (I typically am more matte in photos) – I actually did not like the way my skin looked in a lot of photo sets I had with the Anastasia on (I didn’t set it as I was testing wear), but it has not been a forgiving foundation on me at all thus far!
Sometimes old stock gets sent back to Chanel, so that might be why the still sell through their website! 🙂
