Chanel Lost & Highway Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colours Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Lost
Chanel Lost Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour ($37.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a soft, medium peach with warm, orange undertones and a natural sheen. This particular shade seemed to apply (or at least, look) much lighter on my lips than swatched, and that might have had something to do with the medium coverage of the formula. It did not apply as well as I had hoped, as the color gathered in my lip lines and made my lips appear slightly more textured as a result. This shade wore well for three and a half hours but was comfortable to wear.
The formula is supposed to be a “long-lasting” liquid lipstick that “glides on like a gloss and sets with a luminous, velvet-like finish” and is hydrating. In my experience, they had semi-opaque to opaque coverage, while the wear time was between four and six hours (about the same as similarly hued-lipsticks) but was comfortable to wear and definitely non-drying. What I liked most about the product was actually the applicator, which was very smooth and easy to work with on the lips, as it had enough flex to maneuver naturally across the lips and made it easy to get crisp lines on the edges with it.
These are not for someone who likes a truly matte, flat finish that wears all day long, doesn’t budge or transfer, because these never quite dry down. They take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes to “set” to a velvety finish–a light sheen but not glossy–and aren’t transfer-proof; I get closer to transfer-proof wear after several sips of coffee or blotting it down (which is true with the majority of lip products) but will not make it through a meal fully intact. They do reapply well, and they wear down evenly, so for someone who likes a semi-matte finish, longer wearing lip products, and finds traditional matte, liquid lipstick formulas too drying, these might be worth checking out. They are housed in a frosted glass tube with a glossy black cap and are lightly scented with rose (I’ll say it is subtler than usual for Chanel). All swatches were taken 30 minutes after initial application.

Formula Overview
$45.00/0.2 oz. - $225.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "ultra-intense, ultra-matte, longwearing lip colour" that "fuses" for "lightweight" and "comfortable coverage." The coverage was more semi-opaque than "ultra-intense," but the finish was flat, matte after the product dried down. A second layer could be applied for more pigmentation (once the initial layer set).
The initial texture was thin, more watery and fluid than I expected, and it almost seemed more like a blotted effect after it dried down. The product had marginally more stretch and flexibility to it after dry down, so it was more comfortable to wear and felt very lightweight on. I would recommend exfoliating prior to applying this formula to ensure a smoother application.
They lasted between five and six hours and felt non-drying for the most part. There was a very subtle, floral scent but no discernible taste.

Highway
Chanel Highway Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour ($37.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a bright, peachy orange with warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied fairly evenly, but there were subtle–but visible–streaks along the edges a long with color that pulled into my lip lines from initial application. The consistency was thin, almost watery going on, but it “set” to a more substantial texture (but felt lightweight and comfortable to wear) after a few minutes. It wore well for four hours on me and was neither drying nor hydrating.

The combination of ‘flat matte’ result and poor grades make them an easy pass for me.
Yeah, too pricey to be this flawed!
I love the *color* of Highway, but if it looked streaky on you, just try to imagine how it would look over darker pigmented lips like mine. Pretty sure this would be a hot mess on mine, so I will entertain a dupe from the dupe list instead!
I wish it was better!
Ugh, not impressed
I think that these lighter shades just don’t translate as well in their formula, unfortunately.
Boo, come on Chanel!
I hear ya!
I feel like we’re so drowning in liquid lipstick formulas that companies shouldn’t even bother putting them out unless they’re outstanding!
Some of the original shades launched were better than these ones – the lighter shades don’t seem to work well with it.
absolutely
I like the names? Lol.
Glad you liked the names!
I too love the Highway color, but not results, what a shame.
I wish it applied better!
Looking through the swatches I was a bit surprised at the “barely there” look on the lips. It almost looks like nothing is there? With that kind of price, it’s a definite pass from me for now!
They are definitely lighter shades!
These just look a little odd on the lips! It’s hard to tell whether it’s a lipstick… gloss… matte lip… haha!
It’s a liquid lipstick but doesn’t dry down fully.
Flat mattes, poor ratings and tricky to use = not good.
Hm, these aren’t a flat matte! They don’t dry down that way – more satin to semi-matte.
Lost seems to be your “my lips but better” shade!
Too bad these reviewed poorly. Pretty colors/finish.
I wish they were better!
Boo! Bring back the Glossimers!
Why did you mess with perfection, Chanel?
I don’t think these are designed to be anything like Glossimers?
