Chanel Duo de Camelias Illuminating Powder Duo ($70.00 for 0.3 oz.) is a new, limited edition duo for Black Friday (though these exclusives are typically available until they sell through). It includes a warmer gold and paler, white gold both with more sparkling, lightly metallic finishes. Both shades were very pigmented, while the texture was smooth, blendable, and easy to work with (no powderiness!).

Duo de Camelias (Left) is a light gold with moderate, warm yellow undertones and a sparkling, lightly metallic finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily. The texture was smooth to the touch without any powderiness, and while it felt a bit more firmly pressed into the pan, it wasn’t stiff to work with; I had no trouble picking up product with a tapered highlighting brush. It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Duo de Camelias (Right)
Duo de Camelias (Right) is a pale, white gold with moderate, warm undertones and a sparkling, silver and gold finish. The texture was smooth to the touch, more firmly pressed into the pan but not stiff or difficult to pick up, and while it was a more intense highlighter, it didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It had rich color coverage that applied evenly and blended out nicely on my skin. This shade stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

All too yellow toned for me, which is good since getting hold of Chanel now involves a big song and dance of inconvenience! I much prefer the illuminating powder they released last month for the Holiday Season (though I didn’t get that either for the 5 minutes it was available through Shoppers Drug Mart’s online beauty boutique).
Gorgeous.. I’m on my phone and didn’t immediately see the embossing and thought.. wot??? Scrolled down to see how lovely it is. I cannot buy this type of palette as I am incapable of destroying it by actually using it. I painfully removed the eterno h/l from my cart today. It will just sit in my drawer. How nuts is that?

It’s so ho him to me. Just another yellow toned product I can t use. Chanel makes beautiful shadows, blushes and highlighters but this one just doesn’t say festive to me. It did look beautiful in you though!
Beyond beautiful, this is just so elegant and has a lux refined looking glow. I love it loads! Unfortunately I think I’ve spent my limit for this month in a matter of just a mere 12 hours!
I thank the high powers of makeup that this is too yellow for me, well half or it, the right side would be quite lovely, I think.
But even I don’t but a highlighter at $70 only to use halt of it, and probably stopping with the brush halt an inch from the surface, deciding not to ruin the beauty of the embossing. 🙂
