Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Highlighting Palettes

Burberry Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Highlighting Palette ($68.00 for 0.10 oz.) came out in two shades, and they have, apparently, sold out through Burberry’s website (that’s where I bought mine). I’m hopeful that it will–eventually!–make its way to other retailers that carry Burberry, but I’m not positive. They are both limited edition, though. The formula is supposed to be buildable and luminous. Both shades performed well with medium, buildable coverage with a luminous finish that was just shy of emphasizing the skin’s texture (for me). They wore for eight hours on me before fading.

Burberry No. 01 White Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Highlighting Palette ($68.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a crisp, cool-toned white with a frosted sheen. The texture was soft, smooth, and just a smidgen “dry” but didn’t look dry on the skin. It was blendable and easy to apply. The color lasted for eight hours on me. ColourPop S'il Vous Play (DC, $12.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). NARS Summer Dual Intensity Blush I (LE, ) is darker, cooler (95% similar). MAC Barely Dressed (LE, $34.00) is warmer (95% similar). Catrice Icy Glaze (P, $6.99) is less shimmery, warmer (95% similar). Coloured Raine Fashion Show (P, $25.00) is warmer (95% similar). Anastasia Snow (LE, ) is more shimmery (95% similar). NYX Liquid Prism (P, $6.99) is less shimmery (95% similar). Ciate Rainbow (P, $32.00) is less shimmery (95% similar). NYX Moon Glow (P, $6.99) is less shimmery (95% similar). Becca Pearl (P, $38.00) is lighter (95% similar). Give Me Glow Snowflake (P, $17.25) is more shimmery, lighter, warmer (90% similar). BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition #18 (LE, ) is cooler (90% similar). Makeup by Mario Opal (P, $28.00) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Makeup Revolution Liquid Luminous Luna (P, $9.00) is less shimmery, warmer (90% similar). Wet 'n' Wild Where the Dreamers Go (LE, $2.99) is more shimmery, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Makeup Geek Psychedelic (P, $20.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Tarte Champagne Pink (LE, ) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Chanel Poudre Lumiere Glacee (LE, $45.00) is less shimmery (90% similar). Wet 'n' Wild Glow Watcher (LE, $4.99) is more shimmery (90% similar). NYX Ice Queen (P, $5.00) is more shimmery, brighter, cooler (90% similar). Top 20 dupes listed, see the rest. See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Burberry No. 02 Nude Gold Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Highlighting Palette ($68.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a slightly muted, light-medium gold with warm undertones and a frosted finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation that applied well, blended out easily, and stayed on the skin for eight hours before fading. Dior Glowing Nude (002) (LE, $58.00) is warmer (90% similar). Lancome Rose Twinkle #1 (LE, ) is brighter, warmer (95% similar). Cover FX Moonlight (P, $42.00) is lighter (90% similar). Chanel Camelia de Chanel (LE, $80.00) is warmer (90% similar). Anastasia Bubbly (LE, ) is less shimmery, darker (95% similar). MAC Bare End (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Marc Jacobs Beauty Make a Sheen (LE, ) is lighter (90% similar). Bobbi Brown 24 Karat (P, $46.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Cover FX Celestial (LE, ) is less shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). Tarte Gator Wings (LE, ) is lighter (85% similar). Anastasia So Hollywood (DC, $28.00) is brighter, warmer (85% similar). Wet 'n' Wild Precious Petals (LE, $4.99) is warmer (85% similar). Becca Moonstone (P, $38.00) is lighter (85% similar). Laura Geller Gilded Honey (P, $26.00) is darker, brighter, warmer (85% similar). Urban Decay Sin (P, $26.00) is less shimmery, lighter (80% similar). So pretty in the case and on! I’ve been keeping myself from buying these. ? The struggle. They look classy on the face. 🙂 I thought there was a third one too.. I CAN say no. I’m going to try a rewards program for no buy incentive: if I don’t buy any more highlighters I get The Honeymoon quad! Sounds fair, right? ?

Wow white highlighters are showing up EVERYWHERE!!! These look almost identical to the Dior releases! (Which I just recently got! Woohoo! My old Dior boss saved me some of the last ones in existence it seems! So happy) …so as pretty as these are, I definitely don’t need them!

Wow, this makes the Dior Glowing Gardens Illuminating Powder look like a steal! The Dior one was $ 58 for .21 oz, and this one is $ 68 for .10 oz??? So $10 more and about 1/2 the product! Might actually be able to hit the pan on this one. And the Dior one came with a mini kabuki brush with a pretty silver handle, although the hairs are so scratchy it’s unusable, but hey at least I’ll have the fanciest little brush to swipe cookie crumbs off my keyboard LOL But these are all pretty powders, so hope they re-stock. And if they don’t, at least the BECCA one is permanent, and it’s the blue light special, only $ 38 for .28 oz.

Very nice but considering that in the same week, I got both the LE Dior highlighter AND Becca Pearl powder highlighter, I really don’t need more so the fact that they’re sold out, while stupid business practice, IMO, doesn’t leave me totally broken-hearted.

Christine Avatar

They lasted at least for a little while on the website, I think, but I was a little late to order and wasn’t able to get the review up prior (I think my turnaround was about 2 days after they arrived, which is about as fast as I can go), unfortunately!

I love high end items (urban decay, tarte, smashbox, etc) but then there are others to a level that is just offensive to me. I’ve bought a couple Dior items (lipstick & mascara) and a Marc Jacobs eyeliner so it’s not that I won’t splurge a little more from time to time but prices on an item like this to me are just offensive, when it’s not something that unique. But that’s just my personal opinion I guess!

helen Avatar

I love them both on you, Christine but the white seems to just inch its way closer to my visa….wondering if they are avail here in (Toronto) Canada….

nelleshoegirl Avatar

I *really* hope these make it to department stores. Then again, I can’t decide on which one I want, so maybe it’s best they don’t so that I don’t end up with both! 😉

Christina Avatar

Very pretty! I debated too long buying it off Burberry’s website, and it sold out, so I’m not waiting for it to pop up at either retailers. Burberry customer service did say they are going to restock the highlighters on their own websites, but a few retailers I chatted with also said they’d be getting the full spring collection in stock this month. I’m hoping the highlighters are included!

Fran Avatar

These sure are pretty! The white shade would be the one for me, but it’s *so* similar to BECCA Pearl pressed, which I have. Which, BTW, I do like, but I need to find a way to apply it more subtly. I think I either need to adjust my technique with my Sephora Collection fan brush or spring for one by MUFE or Wayne Goss.

Tracey E. Avatar

Hi Fran, the first Wayne Goss brush that I bought was a fan brush and I LOVE IT!! I have used it for blush, highlighters, even the ambient powders. It’s very versitile, soft and reasonable thick compared to others like MAC. I think I need a second, that’s how much I use it. A great brush for travel, too

Fran Avatar

Thanks for the recommendation, Tracey. I have (and love) some Wayne Goss brushes, but not the fan brush. I want to do a very light application of this particular highlighter.

Tracey E. Avatar

I understand. I also use a MAC 137 brush for highly pigmented blushes. but haven’t used it for highlighting. Let me know what brush you choose that gives a very light application.

kellly Avatar

I love that little design on the surface of them! They’re almost too pretty to use!! At $68 there’s very little chance I’ll have that worry, tho!

Claire L Avatar

Both are beautiful highlighters, I love the delicate embossing too. I already have a dupe for the Nude Gold one in Becca’s Moonstone but think I’d go for the Dior pink highlighter over this White one, it’s cheaper and just as beautiful.

Trish Avatar

Wow they are both really pretty on you Christine, but I’m favoring the No# 1 White. There’s something about it that seems to be a bit more illuminating- or brighter- or something. Dang, I missed out on these. Sure hope they show up again.

koolchicken Avatar

Okay first of all both of those are beautiful. Now that that’s out of the way, can I just say how I love that they came out with one warm toned and one cool toned product? Other brands please take note! I hate having to pass on products I’d totally buy simply because the manufacture couldn’t be bothered to make a color that would work for me. There’s just no way I’m the only person out there that needs cooler toned face products, this stuff will sell.

I knew people were talking about this highlighter but I hadn’t actually seen a photo of them. Probably because they were gone so quickly. I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket so I opted for Givenchy’s new highlighter for spring instead. Christine you have to start reviewing that brand more. 🙂

koolchicken Avatar

Ohh, I wasn’t aware. Hopefully more brands will see that these companies are doing it at this price point and it’s still selling and others will follow suit. You can never have too many options!

Tracey E. Avatar

Hi Christine, these look lovely. I was wondering if the highlighters are scented and, if so, how noticeable it is.
Did you happen to see Burberry’s “From London With Love” bronzing powder duo (the one with the heart in the middle)? I’m looking for swatches. I am completely new to this beauty line.

BW Avatar

I might have to check out the gold one. I bought the Dior nude highlighter that came out recently, and had to return it because it did not last on me beyond hour. This one looks promising.

El Avatar

Beautiful, both of them. I love the packaging – but then, I pretty much always love Burberry’s packaging, lol. Just not the products as much, often (many of the liquid formulations have allergens in them for me!). Might grab the white one…

anya Avatar

Christine, how would you compare the qualities (finish/formula/etc) of Burberry Runway Palette 001 White vs. Cle de Peau Luminizing Face Powder, and if you have to choose one (imagine you’re having fair NC/NW15 skintone), which 1 would you pick first? Thanks a lot!

Twyla Avatar

You have it here as .10 Oz. However it just became available on sephora website and it says .30oz. Which one is the right amount of product.

Kendall Avatar

Oh no…. They’re just too beautiful! I literally opened this page praying “please be terrible, please be terrible” because I knew my wallet would suffer… I think it will. Only problem is, I can’t decide which shade I adore more! I’m leaning towards the gold but I don’t know how it would look on cooler/neutral and pinkish undertones. Can you help me out?

Judy Avatar

Both are still available on the Burberry website. I’m still contemplating on getting them both but not many people are talking about it. :/ Hmm such a hard decision.
