Burberry Peach & Regiment Red Liquid Lip Velvets Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Peach (25)
Burberry Peach (25) Liquid Lip Velvet ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is light-medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a creamy finish. It had rich color payoff, but it did not apply quite as evenly as the majority of the shades in the formula did. There was also more color that gathered in my lip lines, even from the initial application, that only worsened over time. The texture was creamy with moderate slip but still a more mousse-like consistency overall. The color lasted for five hours on me and was non-drying and comfortable on the lips.
The Liquid Lip Velvet formula is described as having “rich pigment, smooth application” and a “velvet finish that lasts up to eight hours” that is “non-drying.” Overall, the formula is fantastic for those who want the fluidity of a liquid product without the drying aspect of more traditional liquid lipsticks while not sacrificing wear time. The formula does not dry down completely, so there will be transfer, but the product is so pigmented that the color lasts awhile. I’ve found the colors to wear between six and eight hours and easily survive a solid meal. The liquid lipstick has a smooth, velvety consistency that is almost weightless (I forget I’m wearing it) that was never drying and always comfortable to wear. A pleasant surprise was that the formula was unscented (with no discernible taste either), which is not the norm with Burberry’s products.

Regiment Red (37)
Burberry Regiment Red (37) Liquid Lip Velvet ($34.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is a bright, medium-dark orange-red with warm undertones and a lightly glossy, cream finish. The color coverage was nearly opaque, while it had a smooth, spreadable consistency that was airy, lightweight, but still covered evenly. There was a touch of color that pulled into my deepest lip lines, but it was hard to notice from a normal viewing distaince (e.g. not in a macro photo!). It lasted for seven hours, was comfortable to wear as it was non-drying, and left a stain behind.

Peach has my name written all over it 🙂
Yay!
Oooh! I wished I wasn’t looking for a new formula to try because I think this is it <3
Aww!
Both a little warm for me but pretty!
They are!
Regiment Red is really a pretty one! Might be just different enough for me to at least try it on and see, eh? Or I could just swipe on my Lady Danger and top with clear gloss, I suppose, for a similar effect?
I know I’ve got to start using up my MAC lipstick hoard before they all “turn”.
You know, of all the lipstick I have, the MAC ones seem to retain their scent and last the longest…
I’m probably just being paranoid after finding Modesty having turned. Plus, it would seem that I received an unscented Blankety a few years back. It just never smelled quite*right*. Never made me sick or anything. But 2 Playdoh smelling lipsticks seem to have me worried.
It’s interesting how red lipsticks tend to score much better than paler peach shades, must be something about the pigment that affects the formula
I was told once by a chemist that the more you have to mix different pigments to get certain colors (e.g. red and blue to get purple), the harder it can be to formulate vs. just using the pigment with white, I guess!
OMG!!! I love your eye shadow and the peach color on you! You look gorgeous!!
Thank you, Bella!
I don’t mind the second one!! My holy grail all time fave lipstick is a orange red shade. So I might look into some more shades like that!!!
Which shade is that (your holy grail)?
My Holy Grail Lipstick is LUSH’s Santa Baby lip tint!!
It’s a LE twist up “liptint” (it’s a full opaque, matte shade!! No tint here!!) that’s only out around christmas time.
I own two of them, my first one which is 3/4 done. and a back up 😀
It smells like cola, and it’s stains my lips so strongly, I’ll have a orangey stain the next day!!
I love colors like Peach, but I think when it’s this opaque it tends to look like it’s wearing me, rather then I’m wearing it…in other words unnatural.
Ooh, Regiment Red is brilliant! I am a big fan of orange-reds.
