Bobbi Brown Pink Cloud Luxe Lip Color
Bobbi Brown Pink Cloud Luxe Lip Color

Bobbi Brown Pink Cloud Luxe Lip Color ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “pale pink.” It’s a light-medium pink with subtle, neutral-to-warm undertones and a light shine. It had mostly opaque color coverage with a moderately slippery texture–it does move around more than other shades, even if it is very comfortable on. I found this shade to be more high maintenance as a result, though, as you could easily see “lines” if you pressed your lips together and some color pulled into lip lines over the four hour wear time. Estee Lauder Nude Reveal (110) (P, $32.00) is lighter (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Hudson (LE, $36.00) is less shimmery, lighter, warmer (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Abigail (LE, $36.00) is more shimmery, lighter, cooler (90% similar). Shiseido Hushed Tones (RD713) (DC, $28.00) is less glossy (90% similar). Bobbi Brown Brocade Luxe Lip Color ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “bright purple plum.” It’s a medium-dark, cool-toned berry with red undertones and a soft shine. It had semi-opaque color payoff that went on very evenly and smoothly, which is always nice to see in a berry-hued shade (many miss in this department!). The color wore well for almost six hours and was hydrating over time. Too Faced Berry Naughty (DC, $22.00) is lighter (95% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Jack (2016) (P, $36.00) is more muted (95% similar). NARS No Shame (LE, $29.00) is warmer (90% similar). Urban Decay Sabotage (P, $18.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). Urban Decay Venom (DC, $22.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Tom Ford Beauty Ingrid (LE, $36.00) is more shimmery, darker (90% similar). Bite Beauty Mulberry (DC, $24.00) is darker, more muted, warmer (90% similar). MAC Marsala (DC, $21.00) is warmer (95% similar). Sephora Hear Me Roar (08) (P, $13.00) is warmer (90% similar). Givenchy Purple Fiction (07) (P, $34.00) is lighter, cooler (90% similar). YSL Forbidden Burgundy (12) (DC, $34.00) is lighter, brighter (90% similar). It had good color coverage, though not fully opaque, that went on evenly and looked smooth on the lips. The color wore well for five hours with a little color gathering in the lip lines after three and a half hours of wear. Bobbi Brown Rich Berry (P, $37.00) is darker (95% similar). FORMULA SUMMARY | Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to have one-stroke color coverage with a hydrating, smoothing formula, and “nourishing shine.” I was impressed with the formula as a whole, as the majority of the shades were very pigmented in one pass with a creamy consistency that glided on easily. There’s a richness to the texture that does feel more “luxe” in a way. The natural-to-luminous shine level gives lips a smoother, plumper look, while the formula itself is hydrating and many shades are longer-wearing. I noticed that the lighter shades tended to perform more poorly relative to more light-medium to medium-dark-hued shades. There was a faint floral scent (that was a surprise, I wish they had gone the unscented!), but I didn’t have issues with taste and found it very subtle on (it’s no Dior/Chanel-level scent!). In general, I like Bobbi Brown’s lipstick formulas, and this one feels creamier and more hydrating than others, but for pigmentation, you can’t go wrong with this or the Rich Lip Color formula.

I love this formula! I know I say it all the time. But, I’m so glad you started reviewing these because I had never bought a BB product before these. I have Plum Brandy. I think it needs a lip liner to prevent that “gathering” and I prefer it with darker colors anyway. It looks nice just smudged on lightly with a finger though too to take it down a notch. Brocade is on my wish list. Pink Cloud is really pretty. But, those really light colors can be hard to pull of some time. I would wear a liner under it as well. Do you think line would help it, or is it just way too messy?

That is so great! I love when readers find new favorites 🙂

A liner would definitely help, but for this price, I’d probably just opt for one of the better-performing shades from the get-go!

It’s nice to see a few dark berry/wine shades get A’s! I know that’s often the hardest color range to get right, especially in a more creamy shiny formula.

Well, of course I’m drawn to Plum Brandy! And this one seems to do quite nicely with coverage and pigmentation for a deeper shade, and especially for a non-matte deep shade.
Brocade is also a great one, but I think I already own its matte sister shade in UD After Dark.
Pink Cloud looks *perfect* for next spring, perhaps!

That rich Plum Brandy is absolutely glorious – such a beautiful colour that works well with your complexion Christine. I love it! And a pretty good rating too.

Brocade and Plum Brandy are real winners. I’m not sure I could choose between Brocade and No Shame. No Shame is slightly warmer so maybe Brocade would be better for me. Hard to say.

Pink Cloud and me can get along just fine. I think I will pick this one up. Mischevous Rose is a personal fav and that netural not too warm or cool light pink zone is always a win against my complexion. I see it seems to settle a leeetle bit into your lip lines though.

I just had to chime in regarding the new BB Luxe lipsticks. I purchased Soft Berry, which I believe was reviewed previously. I love it. It lasted all day at work through morning coffee, breakfast, and lunch. It also did not dry out. Now I am just wondering what other color of Luxe lipstick to get!

All the colors look great t on you but I especially love the two darker colors on you. Beautiful. I doubt I could wear the lightest color, too cadaver with my coloring. I love the darker colors and might be able to barrIcade. Will have to see. I’ve read so much good about Bobbi Brown but have never tried her products. Have no idea why.

Plum Brandy looks like it hits that sweet spot of being purple enough to be nice and vampy, but brown enough to not cause Crustacean face. Love Brocade.

They all look lovely on you Christine. I am envious how you are able to pull off most lipstick shades!! Plum brandy would be amazing for the holidays…

oh boy…looks like Brocade and Plum Brandy are going on the list with Soft Berry!!! Gotta admit that I was slightly hoping soft berry would be the only one I *had* to have! 😉
