Bobbi Brown Bitten Peach, Nude Reality, Tawny Pink Luxe Matte Lip Colors Reviews & Swatches
Bitten Peach
Bobbi Brown Bitten Peach Luxe Matte Lip Color ($37.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a bright pop of pink-coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. It wore down to a matte finish within two hours of wear, but it was more in the “velvet matte” category than true, flat matte (think the typical liquid lipstick). It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer with a denser, slightly firmer texture that took a couple of uses before it glided easily across my lips. It didn’t drag, but I did find myself using more pressure than normal. There was a touch of product that sat in my deeper lip lines, though it wasn’t noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The biggest downside was that it did not last anywhere near 12 hours–five hours and didn’t make it through a meal well. The formula was comfortable to wear as it felt very lightweight, and it was non-drying.

Formula Overview
$37.00/0.15 oz. - $246.67 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have "12-hour" wear with a "smooth, silky" consistency that yields "full coverage" and is "lightweight." The shades I've tried have been quite pigmented and have applied fairly evenly/smoothly across my lips. The texture has a denser, firmer feel in the tube with more of a velvety consistency--thicker but not at all heavy, in fact, quite lightweight--where I needed a bit more pressure to pull the lipstick across my lips. I wouldn't describe the texture was dragging, though, and the color distributed evenly across my lips. As the color wore down and became more matte over time, the texture looked a bit clingier, though it did not feel that way.
I have not had one shade last 12 hours on me; the lighter shades seem to wear between four and five hours, while the deeper shades last six to eight hours depending on how much they stained. The finish was more like a satin to semi-matte initially, and within a couple of hours, they all wore down to a truer matte finish (rather flat). They were comfortable to wear and often felt like nothing was on my lips at all. There was a subtle vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Nude Reality
Bobbi Brown Nude Reality Luxe Matte Lip Color ($37.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a soft, medium pink with strong, warm undertones and a satin finish. There was a soft sheen to it that took a couple of hours to wear down to a true matte finish (or one could blot and go matte from the get-go). The lipstick had a smooth, lightweight texture that was dense, almost velvety over creamy, as it was firmer and took more pressure to apply but I wouldn’t describe it as tugging or dragging at all. The color applied evenly but there was slight product that gathered in my deeper lip lines. It wore well for four and a half hours and was comfortable and not at all drying over time.

Tawny Pink
Bobbi Brown Tawny Pinky Luxe Matte Lip Color ($37.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a muted, medium mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The lipstick was smooth, velvety, and just creamy enough not to tug or drag across my lips. It delivered opaque pigmentation in a single layer that went on evenly, though there was a bit of product that pulled into my deeper lip lines. I did not find it too noticeable in person until after a few hours of wear as the color wore away. This shade stayed on nicely for five hours and was neither drying nor hydrating over time.

Thanks for the reviews, Christine. It’s very good to see swatches and photos of the shades worn on the lips. I have Chheky Peach and Razzberry arriving today. Tawny Pink was suggested for me and seeing you post, I’ll be adding that one, too!
Please let me know how you like the ones you get, Tracey! 🙂
Bitten Peach looks so nice, especially as a summer transitioning into autumn shade. Although it is a shade I would rock any time of the year. I am going to check it against my PMG Candy Flip just to make sure they’re not too close.
Okay, just checked: VERY different! Yay! ?
Sorry to see the less than stellar reviews — the regular Luxe formula is a favorite!
Love the Tawny Pink Luxe one. Want to test this one out.
I ordered Tawny Pink after I saw Hannah Martin talk about these. I loved it in the original creamy matte formula and was so happy to see it back!
I really love that eye look you have Christine!
Now to the lipsticks, I think they are very expensive for fairly common shades (ie easily dupable) with better ratings. BB is one of those brands that can be added to the list of those that need a makeover.
Amazingly high-definition photos and so satisfying to look at, especially the fresh bullets. They almost look like plastic!
