Marc Jacobs Beauty Steel(etto) Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette

Here’s a round-up of the new releases in th Marc Jacobs Beauty Steel(etto) Collection, which included a new, limited edition eyeshadow palette along with five new, permanent shades in the Fineliner formula. Everything performed pretty nicely with some variance in the Fineliners but a nice, edited release all-in-all!

Lightest, Pink undertones. Dry skin.

The Steeletto palette is a cool toned person’s dream – beautifully toned greys and taupes. But I do wish that Sparkling was more of a shimmer than a glitter and that another shade or two were satins rather than mattes.

Light, Pink, slight pink undertones. Normal-to-Dry skin.

I do love MJB liners! I tried them today in the store– in fact they still are striping the back of my hand as I type this. I cannot imagine wearing the pink one, although its quite smooth. I swatched the Dove along side the Stone Fox and Luna I already own– and realize that I prefer the shimmers. The one skinny liner I really wanted — Steeletto– the did not have in stock– not even a tester!

The one and ONLY thing that is tempting me and pulling at my wallet is the Steel(etto) palette! It is quite beautifully done!

I wonder why they didn’t make the palette permanent. There’s nothing in their permanent line anything like this so it would be a good addition.

Light Plus, Pink, moderately pink undertones. Combination skin.

So lovely. I’m very cool-toned — too cool in fact — and know from experience that I couldn’t use this palette as a whole. I can handle a shimmer silver for the lid, or a matte gray for the outer V/crease, but that’s all I could do at once. My eyes are deep set and I’ve got some dark circles and blue/purple veining, so going more gray than that accentuates those negative qualities and makes me look a bit dead.

But still, it’s so refreshing to see a more cool-toned palette that I can only hope that it will inspire more companies to issue cool-toned ones.

Light, Neutral undertones. Combination skin.

Gorgeous collection. There’s no “worst” here! The palette is super tempting, but I can’t really justify buying it.
